Khvicha Kvaratskhelia | PSG agree 70m deal

i'd give my left nut to see Kvicha playing in this united side...he would be absolutely brilliant witth his ability on the ball

You would think clubs have been tapping him up this entire time with him being on such derisory wages. How has he got to 2025, some 3years later, still on such a terrible package?
combo of sorting out osimhen's contract plus kvara's camp delaying things until PSG showed up, at which point Napoli were fecked. He's been there 2 and a half seasons, it's not like Napoli's time table was unreasonable

Yeah the “3 years” is seasons, with this one ongoing. Habit of mine. But that’s a major feck up from Napoli and suggests a club that wasn’t ready to be thrust into the superstar handling realm, that they couldn’t deal with two problems in tandem and in the end pissed off both of their chief contributors to a glorious title win. No wonder he’s been unhappy and agitating for a move!

If his awful wage was an open secret - and by the sound of things, his camp would have made it known to other clubs - then I wonder why it’s only now that things are in motion; why not summer?

Yeah that's bullcrap. A year ago his agents were on record saying Kvara was happy and there was no rush about the new contract. That'd be midway through his second season at the club. What actually happened was Napoli had a bad season, slipped out of CL and PSG came in with an offer Napoli could never hope to come close to, and turned his head

Napoli had been working on a new deal for Kvara since fall of 2023. Basically the first half of his second season with the club. Talks were slowed down by Kvara's camp too. Their failure was not anticipating the current situation. Just like with Osimhen, they misread the market

To be clear, PSG's offer come before last season ended. By the start of last summer Kvara was already trying to force his way to PSG

When you say this, you mean offer him the going rate for his level of talent? The proposed package isn’t particularly special in big earners terms, so it sounds again like Napoli weren’t prepared for this and are out of their depth at the end of the market their-now superstars forced them to play in.

Still holding out hope not unlike a jappanese ww2 holdout that we'll sweep in at the end and make a bid.

Napoli can't afford to match those wages, and they don't offer guaranteed CL football every season

Can’t believe he’s going to PSG. Such a waste of talent. Would have loved to see him in a United shirt.

Meh, he'll win a lot of league titles in a league in which it'd be an embarrassment if they failed to, and he'll make a lot of Champions League quarter finals. Cool.

He deserves to be in a bigger league than France, though.

I wonder if there are any back handed extras that are heading Napoli’s way here for that fee.

Would struggle in our setup anyway. Too similar to Garnacho even though he has better touch, dribbling ability. Even his goalscoring record is similar…

There is a reason why Napoli wants to replace him with Garna. The grass isn’t always greener, he is not all that imo.

We also paid same for Mount as PSG did for Joao Neves, they’ve bought two players who would instantly improve our first 11, bizarre approach to transfers as ever from us.

Yeah, that one looks like a real missed opportunity now, assuming he was interested.

I wonder if this Kvara signing means Doue might look to go elsewhere, or if the plan is just Kvara as a false 9, since it's Luis Enrique coaching and Barcola and Dembele seem to be in good form and their 2 most talented attackers. If you figure Kvara still gets the backup LW minutes with Ramos as the backup 9 ahead of Doue in the pecking order...

I haven't seen a ton of him, but he's highly rated and it seems like his preferred position might well be a #10 in Amorim's system, right?

I've seen a fair bit of Lee Kang-In (is that backwards?) and he's certainly a good player, but not sure if he has truly top level upside physically. Maybe he's sick of backing up Dembele.

Pointless move. Got to question his decision making based on this alone.

Odd move.

Clearly PSG have the financial muscle but surely the Italian League is a higher standard than the French League?

PSG also seem heavily stacked with attackers so we can expect some outgoings, but nothing that would interest us.

Such a talented player at 23 opting for PSG is such a red flag move for me, got to question the players thought process. Not even any big name drawers there like Neymar, Ibra, Cavani like years gone by. I'm reading this as a massive lack of ambition from the player here

5x his salary apparently.

Would you move jobs for a 5x pay increase?

Wages. He's getting 5x the amount he was on at Napoli - which in fairness wasn't a lot for his talent.

It's a good deal for all parties really. Napoli don't rely on him as much as people think and can now reinvest the money into their defence. PSG get a very good player and Kvara has a massive wage increase

He could earn a competitive wage in England, Spain, Germany.......

My point is it shows a lack of footballing ambition by opting for that league over better league's.

No doubt the money is better, that's all PSG can offer. It's the thought process and ambition of the player I find odd

Could he though? Barca and Madrid don't need him and the only other option is Atletico. Germany? It's just Bayern. No one is paying PSG wages in Germany. England sure but every team is tied by PSR.

PSG is in CL, consistent for the title & has World class training facilities.

Totally wrong. People tend to underestimate PSG. Although i don't like them i have to admit they are a lot more desirable club than our United. For a few reasons. 1. CL football guaranteed. 2. Financial stability. 3. Better squad packed with superb young talents. 4. French championship guaranteed and so on. And honestly, if someone has the chance to be french champion, play in the CL in a great young team while getting huge weekly sum, why would he choose United? A couple of years ago PSG were a mess. They signed aged PR stars like Messi and Neymar and it didn't work out. They changed their attitude, now they are signing young talents instead, to build a great team for the future.

I’ll take Desire Doue off them if he’s the unfortunate outcast from this transfer.

Footballs a short career. 200k a week to live in Paris, win league titles and play in the champions league guaranteed every season is a damn good proposition
