I refuse to believe this. Trapp as the first keeper ? That would be absolute mental and look at those wages. Come on ETH there must be better goalies in the eredivisie.
In any case, there are better ones in the Bundesliga.
Yann Sommer turned us down, supposedly, because he wasn't convinced he'd be first choice. If that's true, Trapp must have been told he's going to compete with De Gea, not necessarily replace him.

I would have thought that ETH would take a closer look at Mark Flekken, who is not only Dutch but also a member of the national team. He had the highest rate of saved shots in the Bundesliga last season and would probably be easy to get from Freiburg.

Bestimmt. Warum sprechen wir deutsch?

As I Freiburg supporter I would say no to that, that said he has a mistake in him. Watch the Dortmund match it was brutal, if DDG did that he would be hounded.

We should have gone for Onana while he was a free agent.

He had some disciplinary issues while in Ten Hag's team. What could go wrong?

If I recall correctly, he was suspended a year for taking some medication that was on the banned substance list. Otherwise, he refused to extend his contract with Ajax and that was that.

Bad enough that we are after him, but paying him 200k a week  Jeez, someone save us from stupidity. Henderson on 150k is a steal compared to that.

He is not good enough to be first choice. I doubt he would come to sit here on the bench though.

Weird link, doesn't make much sense to me. Hopefully we find someone better.

He's so full of himself that he reminds me of Pickford. Good keeper, though
Riemann absolutely is a mad lad... but no doubt a great sweeper keeper. Still despite his age he is absolutely inexperienced on the highest level which isn't a good combination.

Trapp at least has played several CL seasons with the PSG circus and just was crucial in winning the EL.

All good points, just from pure characteristics and attributes I'd prefer Riemann. Trapp doesn't convince me at all and isn't different enough to De Gea playing style wise to justify the risk of having an averageish keeper

Let's say it this way, Trapp would be a reasonable evolution from de Gea, Riemann would be a completely different type of player.

I agree with you, I also like Riemann more, I just don't think that he is a sensible choice for United right now, while I can understand the Trapp rumuors.

Yeah agreeing with you here. If Riemann was 25, I'd be willing to go to muppet war for him

Who says we're gonna pay him £200k per week? The reports I've seen has claimed 10m euros per year, meaning around £165k per week. Admittedly still to much, but for a new goalkeeper that's likely to be our first choice goalkeeper, with a low transfer fee, I wouldn't be totally against it.

Look at it the other way around, next season we can have to better goalkeepers for less than the price of one. (Henderson + Trapp = total of 265k per week vs. De Gea = 375k per week)

Nonetheless I would love to see Riemann and Maguire in the same team... as the latter is so comfortable sitting deep it's likely that Riemann would just go ballistic on Maguire for standing in his way, in areas where he likes to play

Yeah but that was a weird match day ;) even Schwäbe fecked it up against Timo Werner
He was fantastic last season and made the Netherlands squad. But he isn´t really big nor is he really commanding. But like I said dont want anyone else sold from SCF.

We're caught in a Trapp
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby

At the rythm of Suspicious Minds.

Why wouldn't we go back to Sommer then with the same offer?

What's Trapp like with playing out from the back? I know he's a good shot stopper and he's built like a GK which is quite nice for a change.

There's no way we're paying 10m/year for a 32-year-old keeper who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt.

This keeper shite is getting on my nerves. If you can't get this done then at least make a move on a young keeper who has the right skills you want. I'm getting worried we're going to have to endure DDG until January.

It’s a tough one, because we’re really after a first choice ‘keeper with a second choice budget. And we’ve got, what, 7 days to do it. Nice.

Shock, we're getting quoted crazy fees for keepers because we've left it so late.
