Music Kendrick Lamar

Probably not popular but if this did happen, I hope he wins against Kendrick so it sets a precedent against botting in music, in general.
Man is legitimately using tiktok of siri playing not like us when asked for certified lover boy as evidence. To call this an embarassing reach would be an understatement.

apparently that only happened because certified lover boy is a lyric in Not Like Us and Siri just selected the most popular thing

Pitchfork really stuck themselves into this album.

6.6 wow
I think they’re a bit notorious with their bad reviews. The guy who reviewed it has history posting anti Kendrick tweets and preferring Drake (hah). Fantano gave it a 9. 86 on Metacritic. In fact I think Pitchfork is the only middling one from what I’ve heard.

Whoever wrote the pitchfork article has a problem with Kendrick or west coast hip hop. They don't like it when the West is on top.

Will I get lynched if I say that I can't stand Kendrick's cadence?
I loved Kendrick's older stuff such as GKMC and Section 80 but this new stuff just isn't for me, which is fine... his "cadence" as you put it irritates me quite a bit. On top of that I prefer the head bopping flow he used to have, I don't enjoy the "philosophic poet" tracks much really. Again, fine, no issue, but it's not for me! I tried his new release and didn't like any of it.

He's definitely switched up his delivery a lot and I can see how it wouldn't work for some. There's been times where I've thought it just sounds stupid too but then somehow it grows on me and with time I enjoy it. For example when I first heard the 'FAN he a 69 god, hey hey hey hey run for your life' in NLU I thought it sounded so stupid  but I love it now.

There's some that haven't grown on me as much but even the Yogi bear style 'boo boo' from Hood Politics doesn't sounds as odd to me now and I initially hated it.

The score is probably the least questionable part about this review. Most of it just feels like reviewer is annoyed by Kendrick becoming more of a celebrity because of the beef and is determined to analyse as much as he can through the lens of the beef, rather than talk about the album itself.

I really enjoyed section 80 and was telling everyone how great he was, but somewhere along the way I found Kendrick hard to listen. He won me back over recently but sometimes his voice irritates me.

I really like reincarnated and it's more lyrical than the Pac version but Tupac just sounds better on the beat despite not really saying anything near as in depth as Kendrick

Yeah agreed. He's coming up against Tupac, it's going to be next to impossible to do better than him on that beat, that's one of the great tracks (also quite unknown!).

I stopped reading the Pitchfork review after the writer described the beef with Drake as "hating-ass" in the third paragraph.

Anyway, I think this album takes the best bits from Mr. Morale and Damn and meshes them together nicely. His best work since Butterfly in my opinion. Has been in heavy rotation.

Ahahah, I love that part of Hood Politics. His fourth "boo boo" has brilliant comedic timing

I used to follow him but stopped. I guess for hip hop reviews he’s a decent source as it’s the genre he’s most obsessed with.
He’s also massively into metal but that’s not my thing. Seems like he’s broadly across most genres tbh.

Fantano loves anything Kendrick does. He's got a little bias there

Drakes DM to him was pretty funny.

Sharing hate messages that he sent himself is something that only Drake could think makes him look good.
The full story of that is even funnier. Fantano posted a video saying Drake DM’d him a nice vegan cookie recipe and posted fake screenshots. Drake saw that and was unable to handle people thinking that was true and posted the actual hateful messages he sent. Bloke is so petty it’s unreal.

I know, but it really doesn't improve it in any way. If he just sent it and ignored his video, we could at least excuse it as as something in the spur of the moment. Being proud of randomly shitting on someone in his dms is just sad.
