Ah, fair enough. Atzmon, from what little I've read over the last hour or so seems obscene.Sorry, that was badly put - it was the Cafe member who recommended the book to me. One of the few antisemites I’ve encountered on here. Though it wouldn’t surprise me if Atzmon also believes it (he blamed Jews for the Grenfell fire).
I view Sanders and Corbyn as two quite different politicians with different backgrounds attempting to navigate very different political cultures. For me at least this explains the contrasting responses to the charge of antisemitism against them.
I feel that Bernie has been a lot more careful over the course of his career in the people and organisations he has associated himself with, possibly because of the strength of the Israel lobby in America. It is also far harder to target a Jew with false accusations of antisemitism.
Oddly enough, I feel our views on a lot of these matters align. We've been able to have a pretty open and honest conversation on this topic without resorting to name calling or accusing each other of anything. This is what I want. The problem is that because of the sheer volume of false accusations and the impossibly broad definition of antisemitism, I can almost never do this. I'm glad there are still people I'm able to have a civil discussion with on the matter.
