It's actually good of Labour to get rid of that terrible "free Palestine" stuff. It's not a new thing, it's a problem many have tried to solve and failed.

Different debate. I personally think Labour should do something like, commit to a gigantic housebuilding programme, go vertical in London and major cities etc, restrict foreign ownership of housing, improve the quality of the current housing stock with climate goals in mind, and massively increase both private and council housing provision. I think that could tell a big story about Labour's priorities and ambition (as Council house privatisation did for Thatcher) - go really big on that one thing, which is at the root of so many problems in the UK.

As a long time Labour voter, I have mixed feelings about Starmer.
But the simple fact is that there is zero appetite in the country for politics in general.
Furthermore, Starmer has not had any real opportunity to get his policies over.
What is going to be interesting is how he performs at the forthcoming party conference.
For an opposition leader, it is all about building a platform. First with your own and then with the country.

Isn't there rule that any labour member who votes against the party can be expelled as well - will be interesting to see how thats implemented in the next Islington North MP election - though Corbyn might well just stand down I think given his age and the very realistic chance he looses

I don't know how people get by on minimum wage. I reckon for just food, clothes, energy, council tax, internet, TV licence - for a family of 4, you've got to be spending ~£800 a month? Chuck rent onto that and even in the midlands you're looking at £1300 a month. That doesn't include mobiles, commuting/travelling, clubs, entertainment or any unforseen expenditure. Minimum wage is like £1400 a month?
