keane starts

It was a bit predictable, and perhaps avoidable. Seemed strange for Alex to play a weakened team against Boro, we should've learnt by now what that challenge is like.

We have to beat Brum and Sunderland, and win them big. It's got to go to 4-4-2. We're never going to beat a packed defence with a tired Ruud up front by himself.

Blanc has to go. I used to defend him but after today i really don't beleive I can anymore. He was class but the level of effort attitude and concentration today was poor. The defence was playing more like a unit before and he turns up and the system seems to go out the window. His positioning was at fault for the first and second and wes is definately more nervous with him around.
Giggs as well, after warching the Premiership years this week and seeing him today, there is a world of difference. His form really has dropped and he always coming inside to play along isde Ruud

Ruud is tired we need a second striker up there with him, NOW not at the end of the season.

Veron respects Keane to much, he should have got himself on the ball more. We picked up when he started gettin on the ball.

Keano is still rusty

Any way merry christmas to all

Well just call me Gonzo then.

If we were talking about Brown or O'Shea, young players with a future, then the muppet comments might be justified.

But Laurent Blanc has had his day imo. No player can play forever ffs, and even tho he may well have a few more moments of brilliance in him, overall he has an unsettling effect on the back four.

i think fergie is keeping blanc happy as he is doing a few arm twisting with maybe cisse and mexes.

Thats what i was thinking, keeping him sweet so he can keep trying to encourage cisse to join.
Snide by fergie, of that is his motive. But why potentially risk 3 points in playing larry week in week out, just for getting one player. If the wizard is just playing larry to keep him happy so he can go and lure cisse..its a risky risky game

So between people on this forum, Fergie is risking the team's success by playing Blanc so he gets Cisse and Mexes, while he also throws in Ferdinand instead of Forlan to signal to the board he needs a forward.

Now, have some people been drinking? I don't like losing more than any one else, but these ideas are ridiculous.

I don't see why. Play O'Shea in the middle and Phil at LB, or Gary in the middle and Phil at RB, and the defence would have been fine.

Very easy to say, and we'll never know, but it wouldn't fill me with much more confidence.

blaming Larry for the first goal is silly IMO, he had just broke up a very good attack by reading the play well, carried the ball forward and played it simply to scholes (i think), who gave the ball away again. Boro played a quick ball through which caught the rest of them sleeping.

That being said, i still would have prefered to see Mickey playing alongside Brown because he's more aggressive.

Overall, i thought Keano was hardly in it, does not look fit and we missed his snarling presence today when we really needed it. Scholes looks tired over the last 2 matches. Giggs was the biggest disappointment today. If theres one man United needed to be on-song today it was him. He's the key to unlocking defences like Boro, especially when Ruuds upfront on his own. (a very frustrating tactic against packed defences)
Giggs' passing was woeful, touch awful, looked slow and couldnt cross a road. The sooner we get some top notch competition for him the better.

very disappointed. especially more so since the performances against the big boys previously.

Yes, we miss Silverstre. Is he injured and when will he recovered?

I'm also puzzled by Fergie's decision for throwing in Rio instead of Forlan.

Besides Giggs, I think all other players didn't play too bad. It's just not our day.

"Besides Giggs, I think all other players didn't play too bad."

Maybe. But they didn`t played too good either. And not too bad is just not enough if you want to win the PL.

Sometimes you can okay but still lost a match. In Boro's match I thought we have controlled the match before they scored the first goal. I have watched many poorer matches than this from us in these two seasons, so the problem is really not that serious. The thing now we need to do is to sort out our away form asap and we cannot accept anything excpet a win in our next match against Bremingham.

Yeah but he was too slow to get back into position in once the attack had broken down. He wasn't exactly in a sweat to get back and help cover something that Mickey and Wes would have done the way they have both been playing. That lack of effort determination is what really pissed me off about his performance.
He was a class player, but he doesn't have the aggression needed for the fast pace required for the EPL. The pace of the game and swift change from attacking is what catches him out.
