Kasper Dolberg

Sell lukaku buy dolberg? He has good stats on fm

The fact that I've seen a few clips where the ball has gone long to him, it's stuck to him and he's protected it properly, is enough for me. Sign him up.

He's a very complete number 9

Too bad about his injuries. He isn't the same player anymore

He was REALLY good in his first season.
Dolberg was basically how Frenkie is now (hype-wise).

He was the next big thing. The next Zlatan etc etc But he's still very young. So there's still hope.

If we do sell Lukaku then Dolberg would be a great buy. Rashford is still too raw as a number 9, inconsistent in his hold up play and his decision making is very poor. Dolberg is young, both footed, he is a team player, can press, has the ability to pin a CB while controlling the ball. I think he would excel in a better team. Ole does like a big man up top usually, or a mobile front two. Dolberg can play in both. Ideally we keep Lukaku though because we need an experienced striker.

This is also why I'm a bit cautious about all these players getting so hyped up. They're usually from small / semi-big leagues where its easy to look good, but there's a long way to perform like Zlatan. Just that insane goal he did at Ajax

Dolberg is still a nice talent, but then again he was completely harmless in the Europa League final against us. Young'n'learning but has nice movement and technique

Nice goal for Denmark today. Will his career follow a similar trajectory to Tiellemans?
He was actually a very highly rated talent at Ajax and did well in their EL run (the one where they played you lot in the final). He lost his form through the next season though and was sold to Lille. Actually thought that would be the last we would hear from him, but it seems he refound his form.

Didn’t know he was at Lille. So him and Renato Sanches are both teenage wonderboys kickstarting their career again together. Nice narrative.

He's at Nice. Didn't have the best of seasons judging by the stats.

Think its was Nice and not Lille

Was surprised they didnt use him more. Think Wind and Cornelius got preferred in the first 2 games with Poulsen. Neither of the first two did play well and Dolberg was decent against Russia.

Would be a very decent option to have within the squad. Not the sort of marquee signing we need but would be happy with him for anything under 50m as a stocking filler sort of a signing.

Sorry but if we paid anything close to 50m for him I would lose my shit. One good game at the Euros doesn't turn him into a United player, he is only a squad option at an average Ligue 1 side.

I swear these international tournaments drive people insane. Dolberg is not a United player, don't be absurd.

Classic @KirkDuyt. Ruining narratives with fake news.

Interesting to see how easy it is for you to create a narrative and blindly relay false information about Dolberg playing for Lille instead of Nice.

Wondering if you were doing the same in the Covid/Vaccine threads :smirk:

He's had some issues with injuries as well. So it hasn't been easy for him. He always looks like he has that extra touch of class in him but his application levels might be questionable. Maybe similar to a Berbatov.

Very challenging year for him, so good to see him grab a few goals yesterday. Think he had COVID twice and also appendicitis.

Needs to show a lot more before I would even consider him for United. As good as he was yesterday he fluffed a massive chance against Russia, when we still needed a goal. Also he has still only scored against complete crap for the national team (Moldova, Luxembourg, Georgia, Wales, etc.). Hope he continues to improve though.

Happy for him, I hope he still develops to be a top class striker.

I get a bit excited over Ajax players because I really like the way they progress young kids - it’s one of my favorite clubs.

In your mind - what stopped the progress that Dolberg was making initially? During that period he broke through as a player for you - would you say he is capable of reaching the top with a top CL club?

What about now since he moved to France?

Yeah seems a bit Berbatov-esque from the little I’ve seen of him. Languid and composed, bordering on nonchalant.

Havent followed him much in France but he seems to have awesome numbers.

I have rarely seen so mature young strikers as Dolberg at the time. He looked far more certain to be a top number 9 to me than other talented young forwardw. Not because he's better but because of his specific skillset and understanding of the role.

I think where he went wrong is injuries and his laid back attitude. He lacked will to impose himself on games. His finishing, speed and agility really regressed as well. Tadic was also much better suited as a striker.

Dolberg has had appendicitis and been affected by corona twice this season alone. So under the circumstances, he has done quite well.
