Kanye West why?

It's a bit painful to watch a full-blown mental breakdown getting broadcasted live on twitter. At this point it's not about him being a bad person (I'm pretty sure that he is), it's a genuine psychotic episode and not the first (or the tenth) one either. So I can't really get as riled up about him as I do about Musk for example.
Yeah he's been seriously unwell for some time and who's going stage an intervention on a billionaire?

Definitely gone crazy now, after such a performance.

Fortunately social media companies have sensible policies to censor the hateful content that his breakdown results in, which not only prevents people from the offensive material, but also protects the unwell person from having their breakdown broadcast to the world.

Oh, wait, they got rid of those in favour of a libertarian free for all.

Sadly, his recent gibberish doesn't even look out of place with half the content on twitter these days.

They're both insane assholes but can't help but notice that when Musk did effectively the same thing, he has faced virtually no negative consequences and only been more empowered.

There’s something morbidly entertaining about watching an A-list billionaire celebrity descend into some kind of Lovecraftian insanity.

His whole existence is built on saying and doing outrageous things for attention. It's a marketing ploy and it worked.
I think he’s just mentally ill, to be honest. Stuff like this gets him a lot of attention, sure, but it’s not positive attention. It’s more likely to lose him money and influence.

What negative consequences has Kanye endured, compared to Musk? Seems to me that neither of them had any consequences at all, other than being memed.

he lost a big contract didn't he

I forget who it was but it was after some of his antics

Ah, ok. So in general. Not after this latest drama. I’m sure Musk has cost himself some car sales. I certainly hope he has.

It’s interesting actually that a similarity between the two which hasn’t yet been mentioned is (former?) fans using neurodiversity/mental illness as an excuse for their behaviour.

It's a bit like a car crash, isn't it?

It's awful and traumatizing, and potentially fatal, but you just can't look away.

Latest drama as in the yesterday one? Well, his head of design quit, for example.
