Better than all of our midfielders, except Pogba. What’s his passing like?

Koulibaly's better on the ball, but Van Dijk's better in the air.Would it be on Van Dijk’s level?

Oh very interesting. If we get him then suddenly we’ve 2 centre backs who are very comfortable with the ball which would be excellent to see. I mean it would definitely add another dimension to us, obviously.
Neither of which would be commanding defenders.
It’s a terrible idea, really.

I’ve seen Lindelof barking out instructions on numerous occasions. He’s really growing into a leader. I could see him being a commanding defender. Don’t know about Koulibaly.
Prefer to see Axel back. Had another assured game todayYeah I've really start to like Lindelof. If he gets a partner like KK, that should elevate his game. Lindeloff and KK on paper looks very exiciting. Not sure this would happen though, dont reckon we'll make any marquee signings like the media claims.

No. But I have my reservations on spending in excess of 70million on KKYou reckon he's ready to play in week in week out at Utd?

Have you ever seen Koulibaly play?
I’d be happy to drive the latter 2 to the airport for freeWe can have Lindelof, Axel, Koulibaly, Smalling, Jones. Get rid of Bailly and Rojo.
No, I mean as far as pure defending. Koulibaly is quick but he isn’t particularly strong or good in the air. Very similar to Lindelof in many ways.
I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of getting done by set pieces and deep crosses. KK wouldn’t help the issue of being bullied by Richarlison or Jimenez.
Not the type of defender we need next to Lindelof IMO. Never mind the price.
Yes, quite a few times.

At the end of the day the fee doesnt matter. Lpool spending 70+ on Van Dijk was madness at the time. But in the grand scheme of things it was a bargain. If a player comes good no one remembers the fee.
KK has got the mix of physicality and brains which is extremely rare in football.

The difference is that those players have been at their respective clubs for awhile and would be having strong showings at clubs and leagues they're well settled at. That's always the complications signing players in the 27-30 age bracket. Not that it has to fail. He could perform from the get go like VVd did. But there is a risk if the player doesn't.Pique just had his best season at 32, Chiellini is 34, Ramos 33, Godin 33; all playing at top clubs. The best CBs are still at the best clubs well into their 30s. If we are to improve the quality of our squad to a sufficient level then we will need to sign a bit of experience or go completely without. If he’s here for 5 years and in that time he facilitates the progression of the younger players around him, then it would be money well spent. He will still only be 30 when he has finished his 3rd season for us.
That risk is always present, though, is it not? You're paying money for established top bracket players, so the risk of flopping is smaller than if you're looking to sign a 23 year old.The difference is that those players have been at their respective clubs for awhile and would be having strong showings at clubs and leagues they're well settled at. Talk of him going back to Ajax after this season.Toby Ahead of KK anyone? Proven PL quality.
Liverpool could also afford to do that because they had the one problem with their team. The got a cb, a defensive midfielder and a world-class goalkeeper. We need to plug holes in the back, we need midfielders and a winger/another attacker. I don't think splashing that much on defense is a viable option at the moment.
I'd rather we fix 3-4 positions with quality players than have 6 mediocre players

Why not both?Toby Ahead of KK anyone? Proven PL quality.
I’m thinking they’re is a budget, I’d be happy with one centre back to play alongside Lindelof and spend on other positions. Why not both?
True enough. I'd prefer Koulibaly as I think he is the better of the two, but I'd have no issue with Alderweireld either. Even if there is a budget we could probably get the £25m needed from player sales, and having 2 good defenders is better than one. Especially if we show a few the door this window.I’m thinking they’re is a budget, I’d be happy with one centre back to play alongside Lindelof and spend on other positions.
I can't see us signing any center back this summer but well probably sign 2 the next.
No necessarily IMO. With younger players, although they're less 'proven', there tends to be more room to maneuver as 1) They have time to recover from a bad start 2) they're less rigid and can be moulded to an extent 3) they tend to be less expensive 4) they tend to be able to adapt better to new circumstances being younger and less set in their ways. That risk is always present, though, is it not? We aren't in a situation where we can afford a bad start though, and an established, top tier defender with near a decade of first team experience at a high level will be far more likely to hit the ground running. 27 is hardly old anyway. He'll finish his 3rd season with us and still only be 30.No necessarily IMO. Obviously all signings have a risk attached to them. But I personally feel more wary of signing players of the age of 27 or more.
Having said the above, I'm glad we made the RvP signing for example. Was well worth it.
Reddit ITK suggests Koulibaly is being worked on amongst other tidbits.
