How come please?
It is because he's stubborn as he he has a lot of money, wants to keep his best players because he thinks he can genuinely win Serie A in the near future or is there some other reason please?

All the things that you said and he's also very hard to bargain with.

Thanks fr letting me know this :). Glad to always get informed in a topic by someone who knows more than me. Was getting really excited and still am about this potential transfer.

But since reading this I think it is going to be a lot harder to pull off. Never going to give up hope though. Come on Woody get this done please

So I've seen some posts about people not being that impressed with his passing.

However he has joint 6th most key passes from a CB this season along with David Luiz, out of every player in the major leagues. I think that shows that he clearly knows what to do with the ball

Can always trust you to provide a spreadsheet or two on football.

A break down of Koulibaly's game, very impressive player indeed..

Excellent analysis in this video looks like someone we could really do with. Pay whatever it costs (even £100m) and sign him up before his value goes up. Only player I would seriously take before a DoF is installed very impressive use of strength and pace.

I said it before and say it again. WE. NEED. TO. GO. ALL. IN. FOR. HIM. AND. SKIRINIAR!

We've gone all in someone like Lukaku. This player and Skiriniar will ensure we concede 20 fewer goals a season.

If we get these positions fixed. He's like a bulletproof armour.

I guess the easiest way to get him is if we can offer them a replacement CB to sweeten the deal. Not sure if they would be interested in Lindelof but they would probably agree to something like Bailly + 30m?

We won't offer them either. They can have Rojo.

Don't see us spending that kind of cash on a defender, it's a pipe dream.

I wouldn’t rule it out. Woodward still has control of transfers and he will have liked at VVD’s impact at Liverpool and the state of our centre backs and think it’s a no brainier.

Lets just hope Woody uses his brain and reailses how import signing he can be and recognises the impact VVD has had at Liverpool. They have conceded 13 less goals than at this point last season while we have conceded 18 more:eek:

As Sir Alex says "Attack wins you games, defense wins you titles". Take note please Woody

Koulibaly is reportedly set to cost double what VVD did. 50m for a world class CB and I'd agree, approaching or even surpassing 100m and we are in la la land imo.

I’ve seen £90m mentioned so far which isn’t quite double £75m last time I checked.

For all the talk of “they would turn down £90m”... no they wouldn’t. That’s a world record fee for a defender and around the price top class attackers still cost.

I hope still have the £100m which we were supposedly going to spend on Varane left and that it counts towards last seasons budget, so that means it doesn't affect our budget this year. If so give them the £100m and get this transfer done.

Koulibaly will lose considerable value if he stays beyond summer 2019. Someone will pay what is required but it might not be as high as some are thinking.

Ah, my bad, didn't calculate the conversion rates. Too early. :D

Point still stands though, don't see us paying that much for a CB, especially when we seem completely incapable of moving any players on and we have other positions we need to strengthen too. Not to add the question marks over the manager and DOF etc. Especially as I'm assuming it's a big chunk of our available funds.

I see us doing something safer like signing Toby for 25m or whatever he's available for.

Renewed with Napoli.

Kalidou Koulibaly confirms his commitment to Napoli with a new contract, despite Manchester United rumours. “I want to win with this club.”

Inter v Napoli kicks off at 19.30 GMT, click here for the line-ups and LIVEBLOG.

“I feel very happy at Napoli. I’ve been welcomed very warmly since the moment I arrived, both for me and my family,” the Senegal international told Sky Sport Italia.

“This contract renewal is because I want to win something with this club, the team I care most about in my heart. I have felt Neapolitan since my first day here.

“We’ve been trying to win the Scudetto for three or four years, which is very difficult against Juve, as they are putting together some extraordinary statistics.

“We hope this year will be the right one for us. There’s also the Europa League and Coppa Italia, so if we play like Napoli, we can go far.”

Contracted until 2023: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kalidou-koulibaly/profil/spieler/93128

Never felt like this was likely, world record fee for a (near) 28 year old was never going to be something we'd do

He has been rated as one of the best defenders in the world for the last few years. He is valued at close to 100mil- Anyway you pay the market price.
