If I'm honest I think Liverpool would be a much better fit for someone like Klopp than City. I just can't imagine him at a plastic club like City with no support worth mentioning.

True. And Liverpool would be more likely to sign the players he wants, rather than making him sign £30 million or more players who might not fit into his ethos

I'm going to be monitoring the cl thread tonight for any obvious displays of joy.

I wonder what he does when he watches Bayern-Dortmund or El Classico? Just curse at both teams whenever they have a good period in the game I guess

Why are you two shifting the goalposts to 'joy' and 'cursing' during random football matches? There's a difference between taking an interest in a single game and wanting Dortmund/Klopp to do well over an extended period of time. The latter makes you a Dortmund supporter. That's antithetical to being a United fan.

Does it? For me being a supporter is watching each game and cheering them on even if they are doing poorly. Thats why I'd say I never supported Valencia, because despite following them, if they are playing terribly and losing I'd be happy to turn off the game and go do something I enjoy instead.

If United are doing poorly in the league and losing matches, I want to watch every last second of it to understand exactly whats going wrong and what we can do to fix it moving forward. I care too much to ignore the problems

Yes, because most supporters don't go to the lengths that you do.

Hmm, he would probably be interested in City. Real Madrid? PSG? Too early for Wenger to leave. Im not bothered who he joins tbh, this season with Dortmund has tainted his reputation enough for me. Would welcome him at Arsenal or City if it meant them being near relegation for half a season.

Isnt it just common sense that if a specific team plays football we enjoy watching, we want them to continue it for a longer period so we can carry on enjoying it? Its a selfish thought rather than supporting them. Its for us, not for them

@Dante going straight for the Top Red award for the month of April.

- Major points scored by telling other people not to admire anyone outside our own club.
- Minor points scored by passive aggressively dealing with accusations about having a meltdown.

I hope you can see the irony of posting this whilst making an accusation of passive aggression.

Surely disliking Dortmund would be more 'hipster' than actually liking them, considering the majority of people liked/do like them.

Wrong. I wanted atletico to win la liga last season. That doesn't make me an atletico supporter. If you think the that's the case, then you're confused as to what supporting a team even means.

Damn you Klopp, timing is everything. Would have loved to see him take over, but there is no way LvG is going anywhere.

The Times and the Sky Sports presenter who tweeted earlier both denying any interest from City in Klopp, even if Pellegrini is to be sacked.

Indeed.

Scholes seemed to love watching iniesta and Xavi. Bet he enjoyed watching that side and wanted them to do well. Barca supporter!

This is good - it probably means City's press team don't want people to be disappointed when he goes elsewhere.

I don't want to see him at such a plastic club (no offence, Bobby), and ideally I want City to keep the old duffer there for another season at least.

I could deal with Klopp going to Arsenal, but I'd be really shocked if Wenger retired now - he's just coming to the peak of a new cycle and I think he wants one more major trophy before leaving/retiring.

Anyone thinking Klopp could go to Liverpool (now) is deluded - he's one of the biggest managerial names in the game, they've got a manager of their level already.

Hopefully it's Arsenal or abroad for Klopp.

Well, in football, you can never say never, he has denied that he's going on a sabbatical, so, if City were to sack Pellegrini [which I think they should do] then he'll be the absolutely outstanding candidate to replace him, and It's only common sense that they'll go in for him. And City press denying it is just PR, I think there has been contact, it's only sensible as he's an outstanding manager.
Verdict - I see him managing City next season.
As long as we get Guardiola in 2 years time, then no shit.

Has Liverpool written all over him
Watch Rodgers drop out of the top four and they'll smell blood, the fans and "Klopp's" team...

The new Dalglish. "Squint and he looks the king la"

Convinced of it
