You’re still here?He won two cups, this very season.

Jota has not been in the team constantly for a while now as well so his scoring hasn't been the same as the start of the season. But you need to make the right calls in such games and pick horses for courses. Everyone expected Madrid to spend the first half containing Liverpool and Liverpool to come straight out of the blocks and get their goals in that phase. That's how it went except there was no chemistry in the front three to create the high quality chances that we usually see them doing. That was the most important part of the game for them and had Klopp nailed that front three and the attacking tactic it could have been game over. What actually happened was utterly disjointed and Diaz dropped an absolute stinker. But Jota hasn’t been in form and Mane doesn’t look right on the left (I think he’s lost some of his explosiveness which made him so good as a winger). Jota’s not scored in a long time now.
I think Klopp would’ve got some stick for not starting Diaz. He could’ve made different substitutions in the second half. Someone was saying in another thread that Firmino for Thiago might’ve been the better option. I don’t think the starting line up was an issue.
He’s going to commission for stronger inhalers isn’t he?
Liverpool has peaked. They can’t get better then what they have done. They have been phenomenal for years but don’t have enough to show for it.
They huff and puff but they can never blow the house down.
I think the media is the biggest issue. I agree that we’ve been rammed down everyone’s throats too much. Owen’s comments post match were cringey and so over the top. It’s not that though, is it? It’s the way the media, ex Liverpool players, your fans and even players went about it. TAA tweeted 1/4 after the carling cup win, Salah tweeting “we have a score to settle”, Owen saying Liverpool to win easily right before the game etc. If you went about your business quietly no one will be “mocking” you.
Had the easiest run to a champions league final I can remember and then lost to the first top team they faced
Hopefully that’s the end of their cycle. Klopp leaves and they appoint a Mikel Arteta type who will have their fans expecting to finish 8th and satisfied with finishing 6th.
Even if they do it’s just not enough and it’s been proven. This squad is not enough to win the CL or EPLI think they have one last go around if mane doesn’t leave.
but injuries etc. could dictate their season. Also will they continue to get piss easy draws?
It’s easy to almost win stuff. United were top of the table longer than Liverpool were this season. The pressures off when you’re chasing, no body expected them to chase down City. They came into 3 finals this season as the favourites and bottled each one with a shit performance and 0 goals. If you want to win trophies consistently you can’t keep pretending you’re the underdog

3 finals and they couldn't score. After all big month Robertson,TAA,Klopp said in the build up. After all the pudits telling us how great they are. They thought they had it won the minute Real got to the final.
Salah and Mane will go now either this summer or next. And they should. This Liverpool has gone as far as it can go.
Best players ageing and potentially wanting to leave, morale down after missing out on the two big trophies, let’s hope this is the end of their time at the top.
Credit it where it’s due they are still one of the best teams in the world, but it takes a lot to sustain that level and I hope they’ve fecked it now.
Wonder if Pool will have a BVB style collapse next season, losing the title on the last day of the season and now this. It will take alot to comeback mentally.
People keep saying this. We're not going to stop competing until Klopp goes imo. Whether we win either of the big boys again is hard to say. Might be difficult with City around and the nature of the CL. He has already started bringing in younger players to refresh things. Van Dijk will be the hardest player to replace but that's 2-3 years away from being an issue.
You have to remember that we've had big disappointments under Klopp and bounced back before. He's learned from his time at Dortmund.
After Klopp goes it's guess work depending on numerous factors. We might drop off at that point and have to start again but that's too hard to figure out right now.
Yesterday felt different, really like the end of whatever era you want to call it for this set of players, but particularly Mane and Salah as well as that midfield.Liverpool has peaked. They can’t get better then what they have done. They have been phenomenal for years but don’t have enough to show for it.

Important summer for them ahead.
Sorry if I spoiled Stranger ThingsYou usually need a flamethrower in these situations, to be on the safe side.

Don't be silly Jürgen.....Scousers don't need tickets for Cup finals. They still get in though.
He's the best manager in the world tbh. We'd be creaming ourselves if we had a manager won won two trophies and got within a point of the league and reached the final of the CL.

When the pressure was off. Every time they had to win, they bottled itIf it were easy to almost stuff, we would have almost won stuff. But the record shows we were no close to winning stuff this season. I’m not here to big up Liverpool, but we should acknowledge that Liverpool put in a proper shift this season and came up just short against an inspired City side and an inspired Real side.
Is he bad in finals because his style of play leaves them exhausted at the end of the season? It looked like Madrid’s game plan was just to let them tire themselves out in-game, and halfway through the second half they had nothing left. I’m sure they looked tired in their CL win against Spurs too.
It was certainly a sight to behold I’ll give you thatHe's still an exceptional manager and this season's of the best I've ever seen for any club.
Yes, they ultimately came short and 'only' won two of the four trophies, nevertheless how they they pushed on every single front until the very end is a sight to behold and an example to every club wanting to call themselves a great one. Especially by today's standards. Or you keep your oppo fan specs and call him shite.
