Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

We're in a much better position than them at CB in terms of depth/quality, IMO. Until last week we had Maguire, Lindelof, Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Tuanzebe and Fosu-Mensah as our CB choices. (5 internationals and 2 younger prospects)

We also have McTominay, Matic and Shaw who are more than comfortable playing in a back 3 when required.

If Maguire, Jones, Bailly, Lindelof, were all injured we'd probably play with Matic + TFM/Tuanzebe at CB and I doubt you'd see our performances drop the same way Liverpool's have.

Is it me or is this Liverpool injury crisis being overplayed to drive a narrative?

VVD and Gomez are injured, okay that is understandable you miss them.

Then they say Matip is injured but that's like Manutd fans complaining Bailly is always injured. Their response is he is injury prone. Well shouldn't Liverpool have known? going into a season with only 2 CB to chose from? Was it a bit of arrogance from them?

In a condensed season, going into a season with 2 reliable CB's? even on the best of seasons, that is a stretch.

Other than that, they have missed Jota, 1 player.

They have had Robbo, Trent, Fabs, Henderson, Gini, Mane, Salah, Bobby, Allison all fit for alot of the season which is 9 of their best 11. They added Thiago who is meant to take them to another level, also Cirtis Jones.

This Injury narrative is a distraction from the fact that their players have dropped of and the manager is finding it difficult to adapt.
Shhhh don't speak facts.

Exactly, if we went into a season with Maguire, Bailly and Jones as our only fit CB, everyone would be having a go at the club and manager.

Klopp has been given the easiest ride yet he is breaking in the media.
Also let us not forget he did spend close to 80 million this season in the summer on 3 players. He could have easily got a cb but he chose jota and Thiago and a lb he rarely plays.

" I really think you should prepare for your job a little bit better."
That's rich coming from a guy who has now lost 3 home games in a row and no win at home for 5 games...
I wish the guy said that back.

He has zero respect for other people. Hes a twat

Exactly, I can see the need of getting Jota to give backup to the forwards but they chased Thiago all summer when they had an abundance of midfield players.

They got caught up with going for the stellar signing instead of what has worked for them.

So although I have some sympathy for them, nowhere near enough of what everyone else is giving them.

Considering last season when we had the same, it was crap manager, players crap etc.

Now, I have heard fans saying... "fans are missed, they are a big part of football".. no shit, but this is the same for everyone, if they think their fans would have changed the league standing then they are wrong. Teams at the bottom miss their fans more because they create a seige atmosphere for clubs.

Liverpool fans would be silent and getting on the team the way they are playing.

Very disresptectful and yet nothing is said about it.

If it was Jose who said that, it would be all over the media.

That is sadly true.

Then again, Klopp may be the darling of the media right now, but that will change the more he continues disrespecting the opposition the he has been recently.

Fosu Mesah has left the club.

Arent Fabinho and Henderson the main midfield pair with Wyjnaldum when they dont have injuries ?
Looks like they have disruption to midfield and defence.
When is Des Kelly's next interview with Klopp :D

Well you can say that. If you chose not to play a player in his position, who's fault is that?

So now, excuse is midfield is disrupted because the manager doesn't trust Nat Phillips, Davies or Kabak in defence.

It’s exactly the same as us having Lindelof and Maguire out for the season with Bailey always injured. How would we cope?

If we had the best midfield, full backs and attack in the world, I am sure we would have coped.

No its not, its like having Jones and Bailly out. If you go check the injury records for Gomez and Matip, they are both the same.

If we had Maguire and Lindelof out.. we have Bailly, Tuanzebe, Jones. Plus, I am sure even with the crap board, we would have got another CB in jan ready to play.

Also... even with us having 4 CB's Ole wants one more CB.

Really is a knobb.

What an utter prick. He's been handling every single interview like a complete nutter. If you're reigning champions you're going to be asked about how far you lag behind the leaders. Deal with it FFS.

Really bad squad management from Klopp. His centre backs are injured so he plays 2 of his starting midfielders at centre back which leaves his team weakened in defense as well as midfield . Whereas if he replaced his centre backs with actual centre backs which he should be able to do as he has got the best left back and right back in the league to help them out and he would still have the best midfield three in the league to protect them with the best front three in the league to score the goals for them . He must have very little faith in his young centre backs.

I seem to remember us getting constantly asked this in Moyes season. Didn't he come out with the brilliant line that he personally has more points than his Everton from the previous year?

I just saw a post-match interview, not sure if there have been more than one, but found him quite good actually. When he's asked "you are Champions, do you need to put that into perspective.." and he says "what do you mean?" I thought it was pretty excellent. Like I do when players like Berba get annoyed by platitudes.

The thing I have found annoying with him are the daft excuses, but when he's being confrontational with the media it is quite enjoyable.

What a dick

Ugh. Reminds me of the type of cnut who bullies customer service staff because he knows they can't say what they'd like to back.

That's actually really vexed me.

I’ve been saying for years when people were fawning over him let’s see what he’s like when things aren’t going his way.

Stick you Beatles T-shirt and your tippex grin on now, you touchy cnut.

Liverpool now 31 years without a league title with fans.

He’s playing a very dangerous game right now repeatedly attacking journalists - basically ridiculing them for not preparing properly etc (not sure how a man who just lost three home games on the bounce can accuse someone else of not preparing properly...)

Journos look after their own and they will turn on him without pause, especially given that he’s hardly attacking them from a position of strength.

It’s a sign of a man cracking up once he starts to repeatedly do such self destructive things.

And we wouldn't have sold Rojo if that was the case.

He is rapidly undoing what he's been great at doing for years - remaining the media darling. Klopp - to the neutrals at least, (we all in here obviously think he's cringe af) - always had a knack for presenting himself as this passionate but endearing nutcase that was both funny, talented and welcoming (again, I stress, that applies for the neutral and the media), and all the journalists loved it.

Now he seems so bitter, ill-tempered and uncharming. It's a bit like what happened with Mourinho. He was embraced by the British media and could walk on water and be charming and funny and presentable, till he stopped doing so and suddenly embraced this role as a villain. I've always thought Mourinho was wrong not to maintain his charming demeanor to the press because he really had them in the palm of his hand and that is a powerful tool when things occasionally go south.

Now Klopp is doing the same as Mourinho. He's frustrated - probably just as much in the Liverpool board as in the reporters - and to me, it all feels unwise to distance yourself and even throw insults to the very guys, that writes the headlines and sets the tone for how a club or a manager is to be perceived by a big group of people. During a crisis as a manager, you want to give the most generic answers - devoid of any sensationalism or newsworthy content. Klopp is doing the opposite, and I do not get it.

It's not easy to become the media darling - Klopp, as well as Mou, deserves credit in that regard (Ole has never been one for example) you both have to be somewhat charming, clever and successful - so to throw all that away because some unknown reporters ask whether it's too late for the title or not, when you are the reigning fecking champions, seems so dumb. I appreciate it though. Hope this is the beginning of the end of that club's recent success.

You're defending champions....do you think you can still be champions?

How dare you ask that question

It's a really stupid question to be honest.

Klopp can be a bit more diplomatic but we really let the media off with the juvenile idiotic questions that offer no insight into anything

Oh its there own fault as they should have built on last season and got in another defender which they didnt and they have taken players from midfield to compensate their defensive issues.
They robbed Peter to pay Paul as the saying goes.

So he knows the reporter is only allowed 2 questions & because he doesn’t like one instead of giving a generic answer he berated the guy. . .

If he managed United he’d be slaughtered for the way he handles the media after a defeat.

SAF could be salty but feck me he’s unbearable.

There’s nothing idiotic about asking the reigning champions if they think they can retain the title.
Its a painful question for Klopp to answer considering he’s just been thumped at home by his nearest rival.....but good! Considering Klopp has had his arsehole licked solidly for the last few years by the media it’s high time they put the fecker on the spot when pool play shit. And guess what, he couldn’t handle it

I think the funny thing is people acting like it’s a new thing, he’s done that throughout his entire career. Also managers are human, we’ve had a horror season and just been unceremoniously dumped out of the title race ( or whatever slim chance we had) and it looks a battle to make top 4.

The British media will turn on him eventually if he starts to be a bit of a shitter towards them, especially if it's towards any of the more "respected" ones. They're happy to be friends with a manager when they're getting treated well, but once a manager is a twat to one of them, they're quick to gang up.
