Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

League will be their priority next season.
The league was our priority this season and we almost got there but had a fairly decent consolation prize instead.
It's not one or the other, you fight for both and hopefully you get something at the end. That's what we did this year and that's what we'll do again next year. We may fall short on both counts next season but it won't be due to prioritising one over the other

He is a Legend. He made Dortmund a big Club and Liverpool is a big club again with playing attractive attacking football. He also doesnt need stupid amount of money. Allison and Van Djik were bought by the Coutinho Money

LVG's assessment on Liverpool is spot on in his interview. Klopp needs to find a way to make his team play better in small space. Let's see who he brings in the summer to improve on that front. IMO he needs a creative midfielder.

He has one in Naby Keita, who had finally found his feet and was playing well by the time he got injured late in the season. Him, Fabinho and one other (be it Henderson or Wijnaldum) actually makes a very good midfield for a Klopp team. Keita can dribble, and is good in tight spaces. It just took him longer to settle than many thought he would. Oxlade Chamberlin (sp?!) too is more creative type I think, who can break the lines. I don't think they will buy a new creative midfielder, but I would think they might look at more number 10 type player for depth more than anything, someone who can play all 3 forward positions maybe? I see they have been linked with Max Kruse, who would sort of fit that role, but I don't think he has the mobility to play for Klopp, plus not sure if he would be happy sitting on the bench so much.

100%. Hopefully Ox can provide that. Keita was supposed to but took too long. Yeah I'd love a little magician in there.

so that's it, you give up on him? :D

The patience of fans always amuses me, he took a few months to find his way, but that is too long. Thankfully your coach is a patient man. You watch Keita next season, you will see the best of him in that more creative central role.

:)

I've been singing his praises for the last two years. I meant it was too late for this season. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing him next season. He's only shown about 60% of his abilities so far. Hopefully he's not a semi-perma crock like Ox and Lallana.

They're releasing Moreno and Sturridge. Pains me to stay but Liverpool and Klopp again showing how it's supposed to be done and United could take a leaf out of their book.

"Everything will be fine this season. But in the long-term? We have to change it. There must be breaks."

It's a criticism he's brought up a couple of times before iirc and I as far as I know it's shared by lots of professionals.

Yep. And wouldn’t they benefit from a longer season?

LVG said similar too. A lot of non-British coaches have made the point for a long time. I agree with the point he's making, but when Louis and others have said it, it's often been ridiculed with jibes like "welcome to the Premier League pal". Now that Lord Klopp has said it, it might get noticed with less ridicule, and maybe even acted on.

That's Comrade Klopp to you. He's a solid egalitarian left winger.

A couple of months ago he was saying "we need to spend to compete", now it's "we aren't in fantasy world like City".

They needed to spend to keep up with City.
They had a god like run of about 6 weeks that saw them scores from dives, offsides goals etc that saw them through a rough patch that would have seen City normally pull away. With VAR those get outs are gone.
City don't really do that. VAR will be of little consequence to them.

Yeah City just foul around the half way line where VAR won't be used. They're laughing.

ooof. If it doesn't go as well as planned that sounds like the start of wheels falling off. Or wishful thinking on my behalf.

Moaning about lack of rest and pre season breaks yet again.
There is one thing this fecker is right about, there is winter break in february, for 2 weeks, and that only means season starts 2 weeks earlier. At first i thought this was good idea, as i wasnt aware of all conditions, now that I see it, it doesnt make much sense.

Why go to all that trouble bleaching your teeth if you're just going to compliment them with some silly cap from the megastore?
