Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

I am guessing that with Mourinho gone, English media will target Klopp next. His lack of trophies will start getting highlighted.

Ole will be the new Klopp, big babyface smiles, buying everyone a Norwegian chocolate every win and bigging players up, playing nice football while leaking a lot of goals.

Agreed

Especially on the fact this is very much his side now

9 of his signings are now regulars in his rotations

Alisson
VVD
Robertson
Keita
Fabinho
Shaqiri
Wini
Salah
Mane

10 if you include his helping in bringing TAA through the ranks.

11 of you include Ox when he comes back who was a regular before injury.

Last season 5 of those players weren’t here

This is his team now

Its very true the next step now he’s got his team, is silverware

But his 1st season with a team near enough full of his signings, sitting top of the league above a City team that looks unstoppable (almost) and through to the CL last 16.....

It’s sure as hell looking good right now

He needs to stop losing finals though. But I reckon his more controlled attacking approach this season might actually get him there.

I think so too. He's on the cusp of a cup win. It'll be this season or next, assuming we can keep the team together through the summer. I do enjoy the ride though, even if we lose the finals. I'd rather be there and lose than not be there at all. This is why I was disappointed we went out of the League Cup. Cup runs are always great!

I don't think he can shake the Bridesmaid jinx. Runner up is the best the club can hope for with him in charge

Do you think that the media targeted Mourinho or that he simply handled dealings with them extremely poorly. His overly aggressive demand for respect. His attitude and altogether poor approach to dealing with questions throughout his time at Utd. Some might say he brought a lot of the bad press on himself.

With all due respect I do hope you're wrong. He's won a few titles at Dortmund, so he not always been the "also-ran". He's now got the team shaped and structured how he wanted, so now it's a chance for him to show if he can "walk-the-walk" in England. Personally I think he will. Time will tell.

why is that the best liverpool can hope for with him in charge?

I really don't understand all this talk of Klopp being a plucky loser and not good enough to win things. it's nonsesne. He was won things before if you remember?

he took over a liverpool side that were struggling badly and has been making consistent improvements year on year. he is making great progress at liverpool, having taken on a team that was nowhere near good enough and now sees them top the table and very real contenders for the league and chamions league.

liverpool have lost 3 finals with him in charge but in how many of those were liverpool favourites to win? what did klopp do wrong? what problem does klopp have with finals that result in him seemingly never being able to win one (apart from when he's won them before)?

to blame the man primarily responsible for dragging liverpool to those finals for not being good enough to win them is perverse.

it's as if people are saying a manager can be good enough to build a team capable of reaching any number of finals but not good enough to win one of them. it's nonesense and has been proved wrong anyway by what he's achieved before.

klopps achievements with dortmund are there for all to see. the progress he has made with liverpool is clear. to suggest he has underperformed and it's his fault liverpool havent won anything is ridiculous.

On that topic, everyone has their own opinion. Mourinho generally acts quite cocky and approaches general questions with a bit of arrogance. That is his usual demeanor. And because of that, the media usually highlights every small thing he does and goes after him. That is my observation.

My observation is that Mou only acts out with the media when things are going badly. This tactic is usually to deflect away from his sides poor performances. It has worked in the past and his side improve and he takes the heat but something went very wrong with this approach recently with Chelsea and United while he was in charge. The physio/doctor incident at Chelsea and the Respect and Three Times incident at united and then the general poor performances of those sides left the media with poor performances and odd behavior to write about. I don't think they went after him. I think he baited them and then failed to show anything positive about his management.

The suggestion that Mourinho was specifically 'targeted' is hilarious.
Guess what if 90% of your actions are negative, the reporting will be overwhelming negative too.

Targeted is perhaps the wrong word, but they do like to focus their attention on someone enough to make it a story and as a result focus on them more to sell more papers

United managers are always targeted by the media. They did the same with LVG and he was in war with them for a whole season.

By that logic, United should have 2 x extra Prem league trophies in the cabinet, along with another champs league. All because Jose did stuff in the past in previous clubs

To lose 3 finals in a row is poor and tells me there is now issues with pressure

He just offers the best material. It also isnt a conspiracy against United or anything it was the same when he was at Chelsea, Inter, Real...

Aye, it's a strange one when you say it like that. Wonder what their reports say.

''Mr Klopp was right in my face swearing about a decision I had made & being extremely aggressive but he's a great bloke & was very funny off of the park''

I believe a 4th official said they don't mind him screaming in their face because they like his passion that is shown from it. A clear case of bias that should not be there but what can you expect from english officials.

because tachnically they can spens as much money as city. also because ferguson dominated the leeague for 27 something years. they mocked the shit out of lvg though. i would say that lvg got treated the worst

the bloke's an absolute weapon with the constant disingenous overacting - all being done for a purpose & appears to be effective, tbf

I'm hoping a new special pattern will emerge in football.

Liverpool lost the Europa final and league cup final. Following season United win both.

Last season Liverpool lost the CL final this season 'and Solskjaer has won it'

This season, Liverpool finish 2nd to City. Next season '21 times, 21 times!'

I was close to crying too, Jurgen.

klopp is a perfect fit for real madrid, as long as he gets some time to build the team that he wants.
He is probably the worst fit among top managers for Real Madrid.
Look at the profile and the fan attitude of the clubs he managed.

Injury to Salah and they'll struggle...

Teams are wary of pressing them because of Salah getting behind, take Salah out and their defense will be pressured A LOT more, and they'll score a lot less.

No quality in their depth.

If Salah stays fit, they'll win the PL this season though. It's clear at this point.

Barca is a better fit but regardless he won't leave Liverpool unless things all of a sudden go to hell over there. He is a very loyal person and as long as Liverpool do well he won't go anywhere no matter who would want him.

He's a cnut.
I can completely understand why other fans view him as such. If he was managing Utd, I would absolutely hate him but he's our manager and I think he's the best thing to happen to our club in decades. We have brilliant owners, a top manager and the two of them working together have built us a very good team

He's destroyed redcafe... some called him a fraud. Others laughed at him and deemed him a failure... Mourinho is better a few said... or maybe it's another episode of wishful thinking that a rival got a loser, but seems like we did.

Knew he should have been ours. Don't think he was ever that interested though, he seems to love it there and wants to rebuild the empire. Knock us off our perch.

Klopp hadn’t the balls to come in after Ferguson and try continue the legacy of relentless success. He just didn’t fancy it. He preferred to bide his time and go to a club with less pressure for success and when the Liverpool job came up, he jumped at it. He spent very little in his first few seasons and thus, expectations were tempered. He’s spent an absolute fortune now, however, so he has to deliver titles. If this goes tits-up this season and Liverpool end up potless again, big questions will be asked.

I wish we had a manager that cuddled our players, runs down the touchline when we score and laughs psychotically when a reporter asks him a question just like Jurgen.

Thank god he said that ridiculous quote about Mo Salah today and making it so much easier to continue thinking he's a gimp even when his team of Scouse goblins are running riot.

He won the double in Dortmund in 2012 and then got to the European Cup final with them in 2013. He was never going to leave Dortmund in 2013 to take over at United, to say he didn't have the balls to do it is just bitter.
