They'd be foolish to ever get rid of him. He's a fantastic coach, all they need is somewhat a complete squad to compete for titles.
Easiest game Pickford has had all season.Nah they earned their draw. They had a good defensive shape, kept the chances and dangerous crosses down, especially in the first half. They actually tried to (counter)attack with some ambition. Something that´s very obvious from the stats.
7-5 corners West Brom
14-6 shots Liverpool
70-30 possession Liverpool
As opposed to
12-1 corners Liverpool
80-20 possession Liverpool
23-3 shots Liverpool
You were just lucky.

Yes, then he remembered he had been told that at the beginning of the season and changed tack to pull a Wenger "I didn't see the hand" , EVEN AFTER REPLAY.Klopp moaning that the officials enforced the rule that you can't score with your arm/hand.
Losing best players is standard for us now, trophy or no trophy. Key is to replace as best as possible. How can we be depressed with the way we play? The fab four? Not forgetting the missing 5th Beatle, Lallana?
That wasn't a great 4.fecking hell... You'd think you were talking about Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and Berbatov.
That wasn't a great 4.
Especially when Berbatov arrived.
Say to safe he's irrationalHe keeps Salah on for the full 90' in that 7-0 game against Spartak Moscow (because we all know how important GD is in the group stages of the CL), then subs him off when Liverpool are defending a precarious 1-0 lead against Everton
Then replaces a right back with a right back when going for the jugular against West Brom. What a genius.
My point being that Berbatov made that 4 weaker. Not stronger.Yes it was.
Berbatov didn't do too badly at United. Even though he didn't suit our style of play.
Ronaldo was Balon dor winner.
Rooney best striker in a generation for England.
And Tevez who was pretty darn good. In fact, none of; Salah, Firminho, Mane come close to any of those 4 guys.
My point being that Berbatov made that 4 weaker. Not stronger.
And Liverpool attack is at different stages of their careers compared to those 4. Most of them are only just hitting their peak now.

Liverpool have Keita coming in next year. Klopp should prioritize improving Lovren and getting a deeper CB core. Honestly, they could challenge if they do that.
This summer our four are Barcelona, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Hoffenheim bound. Hardly making them as vanilla as Rashford, Lukaku, Martial and Mikhi.
Don't forget about your forwards .. I'd be surprised if they expect to be paid.Easiest game Pickford has had all season.
They still have Horrenderson.Get Keita, lose Can. Still need further reinforcements.

I've resigned myself to the fact that Can isn't going to step up enough to solve our midfield issues. So we'll need someone better to play the holding role ahead of him and henderson no matter what.
That and a pair of centrebacks, probably a keeper too (still hoping against hope that Karius will turn it around this season) would do wonders. We'll need a proper striker too.
So only 3-5 top notch signings away. +1 when coutinho leaves.
I don't think FSG will act fast enough for us to have that next season.
Start of the 19/20 season, probably?
Can has a nice YouTube highlights reel but his progress has greatly disappointed and I won't be sorry to see him go since he is not the answer we seek and we likely wouldn't have sold him if he wasn't out of contract. Just disappointed we didn't get a fee but excited to see who we will get to partner Keita (I'm assuming we will naturally be in the market for another top midfielder and will bench Henderson).Get Keita, lose Can. Still need further reinforcements.
And Sturridge. However I think it more likely we won't directly replace Coutinho but bring in a striker (Aubameyang ?) to replace Studge. That still leaves us with a very powerful forward line (Mane, Salah, Firmino, Lallana, Auba ?). I would disagree with a 5+1 assessment of what is needed. A stronger midfield would greatly improve the defence too. So a high quality partner for Keita and VVD or a.n.other high quality CB would instantly transform the team. That's only 2 players (since Keita is already done). Of course another 1 or 2 1st team quality players wouldn't hinder but we are a long way from 5+1.I've resigned myself to the fact that Can isn't going to step up enough to solve our midfield issues. Coutinho will leave - That will need a replacement.
We desperately need a holding midfielder.
Desperately need a centreback.
That's 3 that are absolutely needed. Beyond that in the region between necessary and nice to have:
a proper goalkeeper (I am still on wait and see with karius)
A striker to replace sturridge
another centreback
so 3-6 signings. 4 of them done by the end of this summer would constitute a competent performance in the transfer market (though we should be looking at 5). I am not holding my breath though. all 6 would be the stuff of miracles by FSG standards.
Are you happy with your full-backs? I would have thought replacing Moreno would be somewhere between "necessary" and "nice".
Learn to read. Did I say that they will win the title next year? No, I did not. I merely claimed that it is possible that they could challenge next year, because they already have a recruit coming in which is addressing an area of weakness. I even conditioned that possibility on Liverpool also improving other areas of weakness, which they seem to want to do (if the Van Dijk episode is anything to go by).Yeah because a relatively unproven talent coming from the Bundesliga would get them the 19 points they would need to be ahead of City right now. FFS, there's a chance they might not even make the top 4. Their team is pretty shite, let's be honest, bar their attacking players.

EnlighteningYeah, nah.

Fair enough. But then no one will challenge because on current form no one will ever catch city. Can't be bothered. Their squad is poor apart from their attackers. No chance in hell they'll challenge with 1 or two signings. City are flights ahead and a-few teams around them already have better squads that will also be strengthened over the summer. So yeah, nah.

I agree re:Klopp. He may certainly be a frustrating manager from a Liverpool perspective. I would be furious to see Coutinho start on the bench vs. Everton. And they are defensively still fragile, which after 2.5 years is unacceptable.Well I mean, I can't see them sustaining this kind of form (City) so I'm sure someone will challenge them. Maybe we watch two different Liverpool teams, but the one I have watched this season is miles away from being a title challenger. All joking aside, their squad isn't up to much bar a-few exceptional talents and the freak run of form from Salah. I also think Klopp is far too set in his ways and only knows one way to play.

But a few key players, especially if they slot into the first 11, can make a huge difference. Look at us with and without Pogba. Without him we look like midtable. We battle for 4th at best. With him we can challenge for the title.
We awarded him a new contract after that brilliant dive .Don't forget about your forwards .. I'd be surprised if they expect to be paid.
We don't need anywhere near that many players to compete for trophies (I'm not sure anyone can get near City's strength in depth and so over a season injuries to City players could be key, we've seen how key injuries can make any team fall off the pace). Certainly no team has stars in every position, even City have weaknesses. So I'd reduce that to, in addition to Keita and at a minimum, 1 CB, 1 CM, 1 ST, ideally though ; 1-2 CB (Lovren, Klavan and Gomez are good enough backups) + 2 CM (one replacement for Coutinho) and 1 ST (to replace Sturridge).Klopp needs to add at least 1 GK, 2 CBs, 2 FBs, 2 CMs, and backup wingers/strikers to compete for the title. Keita isn't anywhere near enough..
