Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Half of the defence problems come from having an utterly shite midfield.

Horrenderson shouldn't be playing, that a non-entity like him is captain should have woken the whole club up to the fact that they have some serious problems, he has the personality and presence of a fecking whelk.

I wouldn't trust that midfield to cover a kids exercise book, let alone a premier league defence, and as bad as those defenders are, when they are so exposed, all game, every game, shipping goal is inevitable. Thats all klopp.

When Rodgers was sacked he had 12 points from 8 games, Klopp has 13 from 8. I don't understand how he is getting so much of a free pass from Liverpool fans. If he was our manager, media and rival fans would have bashed him.

Many reasons. Rodgers had just come off the back of a season where he was considered lucky to still be in a job. But he was given another summer and a new season to rectify his mistakes. The football we played in those 8 games was also absolutely horrendous. It was clear that we weren't really re-building, did not have latent improvements waiting to happen and that there was no project left worth persisting with.

We don't look nearly as bleak on the pitch, nor in terms of the project being developed, as we did at the end of Rodgers reign. Klopp is not that far in his progression yet and I expect he will be given a chance to rectify his mistakes as well.

Also, Rodgers really didn't help himself with his press responses. That was a spiral of his own making that I think sped up his downfall. Same difference as between Moyes and LVG in a sense with rodgers/klopp. Regardless of results, LVG at least knew what it meant to be a top manager and acted accordingly without really trying. Moyes had no idea and was basically just faking it.

It just shows what a gang of obsessed twats they are.

Ive read today that they still think they are better than us and when Ancelotti comes they will finish above us.

Erm.. yeah..

Thought the Liverpool philosophy was football was more important than life and death.

Now Klopp isn't that fussed. Poor Lovren's feelings need to be considered.

'it's only football'

Doesn't show from Norway, what does it show?

“Obviously the teams are really good and you cannot be [immediately] better than them but we are on their level when we play them usually. Tottenham was the first time it didn’t work. We all know that even though the result at Manchester City looks shit, we were on their level. We’ve played a lot of good football against bus‑parking teams. It’s not finished. Now we go again about defending and players and talk about our mistakes in the summer. It makes absolutely no sense.”

Ok Jurgen!

Understandably, but I dont think just signing defenders would solve Liverpool's problem in defence, although it will improve a bit. Klopp needs to backdown on the gegenpress a little bit and set his side up a bit more balanced.
Our 'gegenpress' has been minimal this season .. in fact many think that is part of the issue with the defence, less defending from further up the field. I think we lay about 9th in the PL 'pressing stats', that is the amount of time given to opposition players before they are put under pressure.

His team's playing swell football. We all hope this great football continues for sure.

They have a pretty good home record. Bugger me if I can find a table that gives the home and away detail, but I think so.

Home record is 4 played, 2 wins and 2 draws with the wins coming against Crystal Palace (1-0) and Arsenal (4-0).
Away record is 5 played, 1 win, 2 draw and 2 losses.

So, despite being unbeaten, their home record is not that great.

It is pretty poor.

I think we have scored 7 or 8 on five games and four of them came against Arsenal.

I expect us to struggle today and possibly lose.

Even though I would love that, think you'll win today. We were shocking last weekend to put it lightly. Doubt they will play with the same intensity at Anfield.

They are out of form though.

And as Lovren showed last week, their defence is capable of crumbling. They had Moreno and Mignolet in there who are capable of pulling a Lovren too.

Mignolet is one of the worst keepers in the prem. Gomez has been dire at RB. Lovren is the epitomy of a free goal a game and Moreno. Well Moreno. Supported in the middle by a woeful Henderson this season.

Any manager that doesn't attack that lot right now and then has the fans eating out of his masterclass hands really is a special genius. Chemical Ali has nothing on him.

But I'm just butt hurt.

You won't.

Huddersfield are crap and have been in poor form (bar last week)

Jose took off your momentum wheels with his lacklustre display against us leading to your loss to Huddersfield. Klopp has taken all our momentum and joy out by continuing with Lovren and Mug. Which means we will lose today too.

Replacing them with Karius and Klavan today means fck all as a gesture.

You are butthurt though.

Liverpool were dire too in that game and Klopp has used it as a defense mechanism shifting the focus from your poor form.

But so where United and I'm certainly not happy with that.

Yeah because that happened on here, not. You must have missed the meltdown after that game and the subsequent meltdowns since. But yeah, it's cool to make stuff up so that you can roll out a fallacy of a narrative.

I disagree with the Huddersfield thing.

Had actually not been playing well for a while.

We lost at Huddersfield because we were not up for it and shocking defending.

I meant the first half mate .

Seriously. That first goal for us is so important against teams that come to Anfield for a point or to sneak a 1 - 0 .

Told you that you would whip them.

Woeful side that will probably go down.

You did .

I've was told by me Da' before who went today that we are shit and played shit. He's been going since 1958/59 so I trust his judgement.

Gomez has been far from dire (except in one match and we can give him that, a very young player still learning, it happens to all youngsters) in fact he's had a couple of excellent games thrown in with mostly average games without letting us down. Bit of hyperbole there DS.

I can't stand Moreno and wanted him gone in the Summer but he's been mostly average to good all season, a revelation compared to last season .. but I'd still start Robertson over him every time.

First half dire - but I put that down to shattered confidence. After we scored we looked a different team and it could and should have been 5 or 6. I gave player ratings elsewhere but only one was under 6 for the whole game (Can, a sub, 5 oh and Ming not rated because he literally had SFA to do !), mostly 6, 6.5 and a couple of 7s. If we can play well against a parked bus Maribor then confidence levels should have been restored - we'll need them for a revitalised West Ham away next weekend.

Mane, Lallana, Coutinho (sooner) and maybe even Clyne should all be back after the International break. We've missed them.

And climbing :D

Actually I don't expect us to get much higher until January or February, we have a run of about 10 games in those months with only a couple of semi-tough games in there.

We are Liverpool remember.

Means nothing .

Yeah, it is part of an interview he recently gave.

Klopp: “I always wanted to be a football manager. No one asked me at 33. We played a game, we lost the game, and they sacked the manager. The next day I was manager.”

“It starts with a dream. If you deeema and ready to work for it, it’s possible.”

“I really believe in second chances. I had more than two, so I like to give players a chance or two. It starts with a dream. It’s not important to be the best, it’s important to beat the best.”

“My managerial style? I hope no one falls asleep when I answer. The most important skill in life is common sense. I’m not skilled in intelligence, but common sense I take to the highest level.”

“I love to play entertaining football. I rather have someone hit the cross bar than not shoot.”

“I don’t like a victory with 80%. You’re not completely exhausted - it’s a waste of time. I’m not the smartest manager in the world, but maybe the most passionate.”

“Motivation should never be a problem. The best thing you can learn in football is that hard work will pay off. Who am I to tell you what your limit is?”

“In life, it’s not about where do you go. I never dreamed to be the Liverpool manager because it didn’t make sense. It’s about hard work.”

“I will never tell a player he is never good enough. If he is in my team and he’s good enough, it’s then my fault. The defeats are my responsibility and the victories the players’.”

“The best education in football is the game itself.”

“How do I handle conflict? I’m the boss. (Smiles) As the boss of a club, I have a fantastic staff but the final decision is always mine. I don’t expect perfection.”

“Rift with the managers? The dugout on the field is like Las Vegas - what is said in the dugout stays in the dugout. I don’t concentrate on what the other managers are doing. We aren’t divas. You can’t win the game in the dugout.”

“I’m Christian. How can you have more luck in your life than you can imagine and everything worked out. My life is much better than I expected. How can I be a horrible person? No. I’ll be an idiot.”

“Staying down to earth is a question of intelligence. As long as my family is health and well rested, I’m happy.”

“What do I miss at Dortmund? Everything! It was a fantastic time, but it was the right time to leave. I miss everything, but I don’t want to go back... unless we play them.”

“I keep in contact with a lot of my Dortmund players. They were young when I coached them, so I was like a father to them. When I left Dortmund, it’s not so important what people think when you come, it’s more important what they think when you leave”

“I came here to South Africa because my friend told me about a wonderful opportunity. I love the idea behind this club (HBUFC), so I couldn’t refuse.”

“I love what I do, but I don’t exist for football.”

“My biggest influence? Martin Luther.”

“There is only one defeat that I have struggled to get rid of is the Champions League final with Dortmund.”

“The Champions League final is the only game I would like to play again. But I don’t live in the past. My aim is to collect there moments and sit there with a smile on my face when I’m old.”

“There are two teams that are owned by a country in Europe, so it makes it difficult to win the Champions League. But in England, we can win the Premier League, but we need a bit of luck.”

“We have to improve, 100%. But we will. We are fine and the owners are happy. Liverpool is a fantastic club, and my aim is to win the Premier League with it.”

“Why Liverpool? I had an offer of another historical English club two years ago, but I ever felt comfortable with how they understood football. It didn’t feel right. When Liverpool called, I can’t explain it. It was right.”

“Best player I’ve ever coached? Mario Goetze. He was unbelievable. The biggest improvement, though, was Lewandowski.”

The other English club has to be United or Chelsea, right?
