Jurgen Klopp Sack Watch

Difference between Jose and Klopp is that one is presented in the media as the devil reincarnated, while the other one is presented as a shining beacon of decency.

The age old "Oh, but what about Mourinho" defence from the scouse really gets real old real fast since it isn't exactly a national secret that Mourinho is a bit of a cnut.

Fact is that Klopp is one of the most patronizing, fourth official hounding, bitter and whiney managers in the league, but it isn't highlighted as much since the press has built him up as some sort of saint with their Klopp-cams, and they still all seem to fall for the broad smiles he flashes in most interviews. Broad smile is only there when things go his way though, when things go astray it quickly becomes condascending and he flashes those tobacco infused yellow gnawers of his more out of pure anger.

Pool fans are so precious over Klopp, they attack anything untoward said about Lord Klopp. Pickled Red incoming!

It's like he's a cult (really just a cnut) and he has his own army of fans who will do what they can to uphold his word and law.
It was the same with brentan wasn't it ?

Klopp has always been a twat and Liverpool fans have always been precious feckwits. Nothing new.

How long until he goes absolutely apeshit again?
Jesus, did he get sent off for that?

Its funny how Klopp was once such a huge favourite among people on here to become manager and so many were so distraught when he didnt end up here.

He's top quality for good quote-ability & decent at the schmoozing of the media - and ALWAYS interview available it would seem. Mourinho in the early days at Chelsea (yes, before he went a bit bonkers) was like this too.

Wenger gets away with stuff & having a silly accent, LVG never did. Arsene does the schmoozing, they lap up everything he says. That he's the worst loser in the league kinda gets ignored isn't it?

Media do like it on their terms.

Klopp is a twat as well though, obviously. And in fairness has to factor in the Liverpool vs. The World perceptions held by them lot most of the time (accurately some of the time).

Why is it every time a team like Plymouth meets a big Premier League team in a cup, it nearly ALWAYS goes to a replay? Seems very suspicious to me. Especially when you take into account the amount of money the team earns from the replay, and the tickets sold, etc...

Maybe I'm just talking out of my arse here...

No wonder why crap journalists can earn big buck and live comfortably by making up bs. People are just so easy to fall for myth.

It just makes you see how tactically naive some of these lesser teams are in Bundesliga, La Liga etc. If you're many levels below your opposition and they're battering you, you'll naturally end up deeper and deeper when you don't have the ball for long spells.

I can't believe Pep and Klopp get so outraged by it.
Don't watch much of Bundesliga so can't talk about it, for La Liga I can attest there is some sort of non verbal standard of play that even small teams, relegation battling teams uphold. Granada, that team Bebe played last season, and bunches more... all try to play football despite being away to Real Madrid Barcelona... I think it's a cultural thing, not simply tactical naivety.

I said long time ago that why Mourinho was not favored in Spain due to he doesn't follow the culture, despite set the scoring record with Real Madrid. Spanish appreciated Pep's style of possession domination, and team openly come against them than trying shut it down and grind out result.

Spot on. The romantic that is FA Cup is a good way to give some money to the lesser clubs with replays and who knows - some illegal bettings somewhere in East Asia.. As the Big Sam case suggests english football is not isolated from the biggest disease in this sport - the corruption.

This is exactly what is happening right now with Pep in England.

Klopp is very good manager, but I think over the top belief in his style of play is what will cost him. Same goes for Pep.

Mourinho still strikes me as more adaptable to oppositions and the type to do whatever it takes in terms of style to get a result.

Having said that, I was surprised Klopp recently adopt a tactic of taking a lead and playing cautiously to protect vs. City so he could be evolving himself.

Even said afterwards he intended to get sent off on purpose, to fire up the players, or some such nonsense.
That's the first time I hear something like this. Source please.

What I remember, on the other hand, is how he publicly apologized for letting himself go like this.

All this "our manager is better behaved than yours" is such a ridiculous argument.
Most guys at the top level of sport are borderline psychopaths. If anyone has read "The psychopath test" by Jon Ronson they'll attest to this. I'm serious!
These are the types of guys we all remember as kids as the ones who cry, lash out, throw tantrums etc when things don't go their way.
It seems the level of single mindedness required to achieve great things in high level sport is almost a pre-requisite.
These guys are different to us. We can't hold them to our own standards. Family, relationships, health and money is all secondary to the game.
They are mostly all petulant, arrogant, unreasonable quick tempered control freaks.
The only differences between them is the PR surrounding them.
Of the managers named most frequently in the "Top 5 managers in the world" thread,
Mourinho, Klopp, Simeone, Ancelotti, Conte, Guardiola probably only Ancelotti is who you'd consider a normal balanced guy.
And Ancelotti has only won 3 league titles in almost 20 years of management. I think there's a correlation there!

I might have my Utd tinted specs on but we do not venerate managers in the way Liverpool fans do. With Liverpool, every manager they have is granted some weird halo effect where every element of their being and life is fantastic because they manage Liverpool. Remember how wonderful Rafa's wife was in the mind of RAWK And TLW? How Brentan was the best young manager in the league? How Kenny was the messiah?

The delusion is almost overwhelming...

Exactly. When will the media pick up on this?

He's too loveable for that to happen. He's never rude to any journalist so they'll never write anything bad about him.

Wenger, Pep and Mourinho have all snapped during interviews so they'll get honed in on.

Unless he goes on a bad run of results of course things can change, but he's a better manager than that.

Lol. This thread is textbook group think. Keep trying. If enough of you have a go you can even start believing each other.

This is class!

Mourinho: “We managed to do something that is amazing which is to bring the fans to the pitch. I think we did that, last 15, 20 minutes. We played with 70,000, 80,000, I don’t know how many there are but we played with them. They were on the pitch. It was too much for a very good team. It was too much for a team very well organised. It was phenomenal because the players played so well and the fans, they were on the pitch.”

This is absolute gash!

That's not remotely true. I remember that game clearly and he apologised post-game and in multiple interviews thereafter:

"I made myself look like a monkey out there and that's not on," said Klopp. "I overstepped the mark and it was really pathetic of me."
Source: BBC

"I apologised straight after the game to the fourth official, the referee and my team as my emotions turned a game we didn't play well in into a hectic one."
Source: Daily Mail (sorry!)

Quite the overreaction in here to Klopp's comments post-match yesterday. That "all of Plymouth in the box" line was clearly a joke. He's obviously not thrilled with the result and that they have to squeeze in a replay but he's also nowhere near as ungracious as people in this thread are making out.

It has all the mental maturity of donald trump. Complete with made up facts to support it.

There's always a weird cult of personality thing with Liverpool and their managers where they seemingly worship them and everything about them. Rawk used to be filled with fecking love letters to Rafa for example. They're an incredibly sentimental, maudlin club.

It's very bizarre.

The faux outrage at Klopp is laughable. But only as laughable at the new narrative from some that he's unhinged. He's obviously not. He's no angel but he's generally within the realms of decency in terms of his conduct and comments to the press.

Some on here trying way too hard with their hysteria.

He's a fantastic manager, which has actually brought Liverpool back into the reckoning. Deep down, United fans are largely engrossed in the rivalry that's now re-emerging. Heck, that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Sounds like 2014.

Or maybe the truth is somewhere in between; Klopp is a bit of a bell end on the touchline, like many managers, but in life is a decent person.

His reaction to the disallowed goal yesterday was particularly shite. As if it was the most incredulous decision that had ever been given on a football pitch, rather than what it actually was; a pretty clear foul on the defender and a correct decision.

In all seriousness here, wasn' this more like....a light hearted joke? I've watched the post match interview (which I guessed none of your did), he praised Plymouth and dropped a few jokes about his team and the opponent also in his post match presser.

The blind hate around here is amazing, you are not even interested in the truth aren't you?
Good example how someone like Trump could get elected. If something fits your narrative, just go with it, feck the facts!

He's relaxed, he's laughing.

But no, because he's a Liverpool manager, he must be an evil twat! :nono:

I might be thinking of another time he got sent to the stands, I definitely remember him saying something to that effect one time.

Did you even read my post?

Klopp's persistently out of order touchline antics are calculated to influence officials, crowd & team/s. And it's not subtle stuff is it? Why is he allowed to get away with it?

Mourinho went a bit daft for a few weeks & was charged 2-3 times.

I hate Klopp, he is the Manager of Liverpool Football Club, who always seem to choose an evil twat to be their Manager (except Brendan who was quite funny, tbf)
