Fratton Park, play up Pompey!
In the last week or so i've read a fair few articles claiming we're in for the big brazilian. Although most of the articles have been about this long and with no actual quotes about any sort of transfer.

MANCHESTER UNITED are eyeing Brazil keeper Julio Cesar as their No 1 choice to replace Edwin van der Sar.

Inter Milan's £7million-rated stopper, 31, said: "England is sensational for football because of the atmosphere and fans' passion."

I don't usually get into all the muppetry but this is would be my personal dream move in replacing VDS.

Discuss, or go completely off topic it's up to you.

Very good keeper. Would depend on the price given that he's in his early thirties.

IMO second best keeper in the world at the moment. And that's why this rumor is a non starter.

"£7M rated"? Either Inter are run by a bunch of complete numbnuts or that story is another Sun masterpiece in the art of bullshit. I know which one my money is on...

Would be a great buy though, best in the world by a country mile IMO and his fee would reflect that(at least £30m I'd have thought). Not going to happen though.

7 mil for one of the best keepers in the world who is only 31?

What a joke!

What's his contract situation?

The thought of him replacing VDS, sweet Jesus, yes please! It'll never happen though.

Inter are on the slide and the other top clubs in Europe all seemingly have top keepers. He may also fancy a lucrative final move - could be his last chance.

inter are on the slide??

how do you explain this? a few dodgy months under rafa doesnt mean the club are in decline - i fancy them for serie A - they win games in hand they are 5 points behind milan with half the season to play

There is no way we are going to get him for 7m. That is such a low price for one of the best keepers in the world.

Who's better?

He's the best IMO, although apparently he hasn't been in his top form this season.

Well that's cause he has been injured most of this season. When was the last game he played for Inter this season?

Brilliant keeper no doubt about it & would be an ideal replacement for the outgoing VdS, but i have a feeling this story is just like the rest of the stories linking us to every top keeper in the last few months, shit.

The Sun have really put a lot of effort into that story - a whole two sentences long comprised of one very tenuous quote and a comical valuation.

They very well might win Serie A but so what? He's already won a few, and besides, they're not the same as they were under Mourinho. Established players are getting older and they need to be replaced. They're a team in transition missing the most vital part of what made them European Champions - Mourinho's tactical nouse.

I doubt they'll be winning any CL any time soon so he might fancy a new challenge. Serie A is also not the league it was and at 31 he may only have one big move left.

United will need a keeper after van Der Sar and if he misses that boat then that could be it. Can't see many other top clubs looking for a new keeper in the next few years.

If he fancies it he'd be a good option for United.

What are you wearing Xander45

got perhaps five or six good years left in him got to be worth 10million or more? if at all available could be the perfect solution

Arriving at QPR for talks. What the shit?

Yeah it was on twatter earlier, at least now Rob Greene cant be solely to blame if they go down even though he has been trying his very best to get them to the top of the upside down league table.

How much funds do QPR have? Bloody hell, this league has enough sugar daddies.

Not sure how much they ahve at their disposal, sure let them spend what they like they are going back down come May so it wont make much of a difference. They are complete and utter wank.

QPR are going to be the next Pompy, owners will have fecked off and some of them pirates will still be at the club when they're in league 1 collecting a pay cheque bleeding them dry. All they need is 'arry to complete the team.

well wouldnt ya know Arry needs a job, and I personally dont see Hughes lasting until the end of the season in that job. They may just get Pompey'd afterall.

Hughes seems like a bit of a dodgy bastard anyway, though it may just be coincidence that his last two clubs had dodgy owners.

Just how much money does the QPR owner (Fernandez?) actually have then? How close is he to the Roman/Sheikh level of cuntishness?

Their targets haven't exactly been top draw (except Park obviously ) but is this a case of overpaying on average players to get the club to a place where they can splash out on better players like City did?

Julio Cesar is unwanted at Inter. He was close in joining Spurs but the deal went off.

Its important to note that the Mittal family owns 34% of QPR.

And they are worth twice than Abrahimovic and even more than the City Sheikh.

However, the Mittals are pure businessmen.

Before the Sheikhs came, QPR were the second riches team in English football or so I read.

Seems like a daft move for all. QPR are desperate for players in far more important areas. Greene is a laugh, but he's reliable nine times out of ten. With the amount in wages they'll be paying, they could have brought in a handy player in midfield.
