Not the kind of player we need right now and won't improve our squad by a large amount. He can definitely work at Liverpool where he can be a valuable squad member like Shaqiri and play across the front 3 and maybe get a starting role as a CAM in the role Coutinho was given (though that will effect their defensive solidity).
The only way I can envision us buying him would be if we sell Pogba because him and Pogba in the same XI would be a disaster defensively. If we do sell Pogba, which I think we should, then playing Brandt would require a complete reworking of our midfield 3. You can play Brandt but you would need two defensive solid midfielders behind him (one of whom would have to be a playmaker) to give Brandt the freedom to roam in the final third.
I see it similarly, he'd be a 1:1 Pogba replacement, although Brandt is of course younger and still has plenty of room to grow into his new CM role. But to write him off on the left wing when his sole competition would be Martial and Sanchez is rubbish. Not the kind of player we need right now and won't improve our squad by a large amount. We're in complete dire straits at this club with bang average players in every position, yet people on this forum want to turn down the likes of Brandt and Werner like we have an embarrassment of riches on the field.
If you wanna turn down this kind of talent at 25 million Euro's, especially considering todays market, I genuinely don't know where your head is at, back in the glory days of the 90s when we could attract everyone and prices were a snip in comparison I bet.
Rumors in Germany that Bayern lost interest in him and he´s in negotiations with BVB. Read about it on Schwatzgelb, people there with mixed feelings concerning Brandt´s workrate and attitude. But often mentioned: the pricetag is worth a shot.
11.48km covered against Augsburg last week.He doesn't run enough.
Typical.Fergie never signed Germans, doubt Ole will.
Not many since not a whole lot have played there as far as I know. Ballack was decent for Chelsea right? And Özil has had pretty strong spells at Arsenal.Just out of curiosity, have there been many German players who have played well in the PL?

Mainly because the top players stay in Germany. I highly doubt peak Lahm, BFS, Boateng and the likes would have struggled here.Think Klinsmann's still the most successful Deutschland player who's played on these shores.
25m for this guy is a steal. Hope we are fighting to get him.
We got good mileage out of our batch.Just out of curiosity, have there been many German players who have played well in the PL?
If he decides not to buy a player based on nationality, that's plain dumb.Fergie never signed Germans, doubt Ole will.
That is accurateIf he decides not to buy a player based on nationality, that's plain dumb.
I can understand being wary about Argies, but Germans? Can't work out what wrong could that be, unless we're looking at some has beens. If he decides not to buy a player based on nationality, that's plain dumb.

Trophy wise certainty but he wasn't the same Ballack that I saw dominating for Germany,Leverkusen and especially Bayern. Though, funnily enough,he did turn it on against us in the majority of our meetings.Would you not argue it's Ballack the most successful? I mean, he actually won trophies!
