I haven't watched him anywhere near enough to have a strong opinion, but that is my impression as well. He could very well develop his game into a deeper role, but most likely he'll go on to be at his best as the most attacking of a midfield three. Like a De Bruyne, Iniesta, Pogba, Gerrard, etc. All of them can/could play in a deeper role (actually not sure if I remember KDB playing deeper), but you won't get the best out of them and it unbalances the team as a whole. I feel that is where Bellingham is heading as well, although obviously at his age that could certainly change.

Another hyped up English player. Every season there has to one that people over hype English player to the moon and back, I have never watched this guy play and think Wow he is amazing and future world class player. England really don't have any decent midfielders so anyone that pops up and shows a little talent, he becomes the one. Rice, Philips, Henderson is his competition

Clearly age isnt the only thing going for him when literally all the top clubs are after him. Liverpool, City, Real but ofcourse you can run your agenda that he is hyped up English player without realising what a talent he is.

Bellingham is just pure class. He hasn't even unlocked even a quarter of what he can do. The next generation of top midfielders in Europe is very very deep
Yes. Not remotely as powerful nor as talented. He us more akin to Pogba's rise. But blessed with better defensive and postional nous

Given the player remains open to a transfer into EPL and stays true to his attitude that Dortmund shall benefit big time, this can well mean a price tag never seen for an English player.

3. we have Scott that looks good right now and Casemiro that added to the squad

Both massively overrated at the sort of £100 million + fees being mentioned.
Neither have done anything to justify being worth that sort of money. English premium tax has been well and truly applied!
At 19 years old I think there’s enormous potential there. He already plays with a level of maturity beyond his years. I just hope he’s given time to develop and doesn’t have pressure heaped on him by the media, the last thing he needs is to have a couple of really good games then have the English media trying to paint him as the next Zidane.
Would be foolish for Madrid to have a 20 year old kid as a starter in midfield when we already have other youngsters, and he won't join Madrid unless he is guaranteed a credible shot at starting (basically Kroos & Modric both need to leave). We need to go for at least one experienced player, who's seen it all, even if he is on the wrong side of 30. If City don't win the CL this season, I'd be delighted if we went for a 32y old De Bruyne for a few years. I love Bernardo Silva too but I think we have his skill sets covered with Valverde and Camavinga.
Also I feel he is a bit overhyped based on the 2-3 Dortmund matches I've seen this season. He's good but I got a better feeling watching Valverde (when he first started under Zidane) and Tchouameni (again 2-3 matches I saw last season).

Funny that this is only the case of English players but no body blinks an eye lid for players like Antony worth just as much after not achieving much either.
Combination of me getting older and the Post Fergie era has really calmed me down the last few years. Although there were a few instances where I was jumping around like a lunatic, PSG(A) , most recently Liverpool (H).
I'd rather blow that amount on Bellingham rather than Rice, you can just feel Bellingham's ceiling is much higher. Rice is a decent, un-exciting, composed midfielder, which is nice but he's definitely not the kind of player to get hyped about.

Wonder if Jobe will go to Dortmund as well? Either to play with each other for a season or as a replacement, depending on when Jude leaves. If the family feels that Dortmund did really well for Jude there's a fair chance they'll take the same path. Depends on whether Dortmund actually want him of course, but he seems to be the real deal.
You said that if Bellingham wasn't a great player, why are top clubs after him and I said top clubs being after a player doesn't mean anything because big clubs including us where after Maguire, Shaw, Lukaku etc. They were just examples of players that were sort after and didn't turn out great.
It was Alexis wages that was insane not the swap, fans on here even complained about it and were happy he was of the wage bill. Remember the phrase "money or Pep"? that phrase came from the Alexis saga.
I have watched Bellingham play over 20 games including club and country and I just don't see anything special especially if the fee is 150 million. We can agree to disagree
You are right on Nunez. To hush to judge him on few games, let's see at the end of the season. Just watching him play reminds me of Lukaku and we knew from the jump Lukaku wasn't going to make it here because of his play. Poor touch, missing big chances, arrogant, not turning up for big games etc.
The thing I like most about him is that he’s absolutely fuelled by ambition. The guy wants to win everything. When it comes to players as technically gifted as him, I think that’s one of the best signs for his future development.
I think Bellingham is pretty much the one coveted player playing outside of the PL who would not choose the Spanish big 2 over the PL big 3.....because he's English. It would be a surprise if a guy who has the best/most competitive league taking place in his own backyard would not want to play there, especially given he hasn't experienced it before.
As for KdB, Courtois shagged his girlfriend (presumably ex-girlfriend now but she cheated on him with Courtois). Or at least, that's the rumour.
To me he is eerily similar to Delle Ali in playing style. I kept saying early on that Delle was not a midfielder and his best attributes were near the goal. He was a hard working number 10 basically. I see the same with Jude.
If we are to sign him it should be to replace Bruno.
No proper playmaker in that side though, I don't think it'll be that well balanced. Certainly not close to Casemiro / Kroos / Modric or even Rodri / KdB / Bilva.
I'm convinced you need several functions as part of a midfield - these functions are sometimes distributed across different players but in my mind the main ones are
- Ball carrying on offense: Pogba, Bellingham, Modric, McTominay, Kovacic, Kante, Bernardo, Iniesta all have their own styles.
- Playmaking: Kroos, Jorginho, Veratti, Xavi etc. all are different players but provide ability to dictate play.
- Screening: Rodri, Casemiro, Fabinho, Busquets, Alonso etc.
- Creativity (usually players who carry the ball well can also be the primary creative outlet)
- .. more?
This is also why I have my doubts about Casemiro - Eriksen - Bruno. There's just not enough ball carrying ability amongst those 3. We're asking Eriksen to carry the ball in transition by doing this and he's not that player.
I'd love to see something like Casemiro - Eriksen - Sancho but I think more likely we get Eriksen - McT - Bruno instead.

Seems to me I belong in a minority who don't rate him as 100m£ player. He is good but don't see the special talent others see. I feel like part of the reason Dortmund are not so great defensively is cuz of him in CM. I rate Camavinga and Tchouameni much higher for ex.
He has time to improve his decision-making( from what I've watched in his real games), it's about the experience. His ball control, technique and flair look impressive for his age.
