I signaled out rodri because I sincerely belive he's the very best midfielder of his current generation, there are certain risks involved getting a player of such an age profile and after such an injury but his sheer quality trumps such concerns if we were able to get him.
That's long shot anyway.
But overall I'd agree rodri, Haaland, gvardiol should spark the most heated transfer competition among all their assets.
I think Rodri has become a bit overrated, simply because people view him as this lone #6 who's carrying City on his back both defensively and in possession, whilst in reality his stock has only skyrocketed in the last 24 months, since Pep started using him as almost an #8 in a double pivot, with a lot of protection from Stones or another CB/full-back stepping into midfield constantly to help him out with a lot of defensive responsibility.
However, he could still play the deeper role in a double pivot to an exceptional level at any club in the world, but he doesn't take as much defensive responsibility as it's being made out.
But he would be a great partner for both Mainoo and Ugarte in Amorim's system, as he has both of the crucial things that the Mainoo-Ugarte partnership lacks IMO. Physicality and passing range. Could get his extra protection from one of our CBs as well that he's used to at City.
However, in the hypothetical event of City selling all their players as a result of a multi-year expulsion from the Premier League as their punishment, I think Rodri would be picked up for a much cheaper price than one would think, and he wouldn't really want to stay in England anyways. I don't see him going anywhere other than the Spanish big three (Yes, I can imagine him in Barca and Atletico too, not just RM).
Gvardiol and Haaland however are both legitimately 100m+ talents in their pre-peak years, so the interest and potential price would be crazy there.
