Jose's Wish List...

I don't know how you have managed to spend 300 million there and yet still have a striker up front who scored five league goals last season.

I would have faith in that team 100%.

Remember we have other players to rotate it wouldnt be that team week in week out

Rooney is staying, no cash or place for AG7

I don't know whats on Joses wish list exactly but mines is a new...

CB...LB...DM...LW...ST and RW

6 players. It's that bad. And De Gea might go. So throw in a keeper...7 new players. If the squad wasn't in the state it's in I'd be replacing Herrera as a starter as well, 8 new players.

It's that bad.

Pogba, Bailly and Valencia, you're OK for now.

Without Griezmann, we're in big trouble I think.

Remains to be seen who are the backups to Griezmann. Our attack next season could be absolutely terrible.

Exactly. We'll almost certainly be replacing our top goalscorer with someone inferior while adding an average winger to the mix. That will weaken us rather than improve us if anything.

Agreed. Our attack will be weaker.

I fear that this will make Mourinho go even more defensive. I don't want to imagine this!

If we're not getting Griezmann (which looks like the case) then we really need to hope that we can get a couple out of James, Bale, Sanchez, Lukaku* etc or we wont be challenging for anything.

*I don't even rate Lukaku is the sad thing but he's much better than Rashford.

Give Levy £200m for Ali and Kane.
Take the money we recouped for Depay and Schneiderlin and buy a DM (Fabinho).
Swap in De gea for someone we can use (Varane and James).
Start the season with Romero in goal.

Goal scoring sorted, Midfielder sorted, Defence sorted, everyone ia happy.

If we are really lucky, Trump pulling out of the Paris agreement will have sunk the world before next season.

The cherry can be added to the top once the cake is baked...

SAF waited for Ruud, maybe Jose has to wait a little longer for Griezmann, but there is plenty of other players and plenty of other positions that need strengthening this summer.

Woody just goes to the second name on the list!

A little fix if you don't mind because my scenario is just as probable.

This sounds epic!

Are people delusional enough to believe that just throwing money at Spurs will get us those players?

That s not how real life works.
How does it work?

Only if they had a release clause and we meet it, that would have been so easy... Oh wait...

I was just coming back into the thread to post just that list. THIS is what we need!!
Those 4 signings would solve most of our problems, imo.
The latter three would be expensive, but I think ultimately they are all attainable.
Kane could prove very difficult to acquire, but I think Lukaku would be a good alternative and a more realistic acquisition

Van Dijk seems more interested in Liverpool or City from the reports coming out. His style does suit a manager that lets him make first station passes from centre of defence to a central midfielder. José does not let our defenders risk this in big games which is why we see the long ball to Fellaini so often.

Kane, Sanchez, Fabinho, Van Dijk.

If De Gea stays we win the league

So simple

Kane: £150m because you know Levy would take the piss.
Sanchez: £65m
Fabinho: £50m
Van Dijk: £50m

Over £300m spent right there.

Honestly though, if Aubameyang hasn't gone to PSG yet, he's a better option than Lacazette.

Everyone dreaming about Kane forgot one thing. As with Griezmann it is not the problem of wages and paying the price but shock horror the player need to want to come to United! Sadly for us both are extremely loyal chaps and like the environment they are in. We would have gotten Kane if he wanted to come. Same as with Bale when he left Tottenham. It was never a question of money.

Definitely. Kane is just a wish for me. Lukaku and Cavani seem to be the "best, easiest" options to acquire. Would choose Lukaku over Cavani.
With Rooney and Schweiny out thats a lot of free wages. And if Ibra leaves, we have a lot of money to throw around. We could use a couple big time signings

Aubama would be great signing too

There's no point in panicking this early in the Summer. All sorts of things might be going on behind the scenes.

Maybe Jose has heard from Bale's agent that he wants to come perhaps. Maybe DeGea has told him he's staying.

This is such a crucial and tricky transfer window for us. We need a LB, DCM, RW and CF as absolute essentials. Another CM and a LW would be ideal but not as critical and a CB would be nice but we probably have enough there to get by.

Ideally, I'd also like to see us bringing in a young RB as well to rotate with Valencia and there is also the prospect of having to replace De Gea!

I'd be looking at Rose for LB (or Bertrand at a push), Fabinho seems a popular choice for DCM (and can cover RB), I'm a bit stuck on a right winger and Lukaku (even though I'm not a huge fan) is probably the best available option upfront. If we ended up with this as our first 11 at the start of the season I'd be happy:

De Gea

Valencia
Bailly
Jones
Rose

Fabinho
Herrera
Pogba

Martial
Lukaku

Oh its exactly how it works. Its just a fact that we do not do that. Yet Real Barca Bayern and Juve do exactly this and nobody bats an eyelid.

Because its not about just buying them out of spurs. See you add in a double your current wages contract and that puts all the pressure back on levy, Pay me what im worth or im off. With their wage structure we could easily do that too. Ok you can say well spurs are doing much better than us. Yea but for 3 years in a row. They have won nothing while looking like world beaters. We are winning trophies and have one of the worlds best managers a proven winner. Poch has NEVER won anything and he is not looking like he will either.

Its the long game you play here. Even if you dont sign them this summer. You have and still go all out to unsettle Kane and Alli then next season you only have to sit back and watch the mayhem it causes when they win nothing again. You never stop tapping them up and letting the press know how much you want them making sure everyone knows the wages on offer. Even if we dont get them it sees off spurs as a force and makes sure the players are paid a premium for. The knock on effect it dips into the available funds of clubs. As we are the biggest fish in the pond it wont hurt us as much as it hurts others. This is how you flex your financial muscle.

You either get the best players or force others to pay what you will. Spurs have had a free ride for the last while time to put them under a bit pressure. Exact same with Sanchez and hurt the goonies. He wants 250KPW offer 300 and start a bidding war.

I'm not really bothered. There's more than enough talent already in the squad for Mourinho to mould and develop. We should be finishing much higher next season regardless, as well as playing considerably better football. Griezmann or no Griezmann.

Now Griezmann is off the cards. We should go all out for Sanchez. This would be difficult as it's Arsenal. But if the right offer is made, Sanchez may be tempted.

Based on reports:
I think James would be a good signing for our no.10.

Unsure about Lukaku, I've watched him at OT over past 2 years and he offered nothing, his touch looked awful. But he looks to have all attributes so maybe I'm biased?

Perisic, haven't watches him, Euros he looked good. But YouTube (yes I know) shows a poor player, nothing stood out. But on the basis that the deal looks to be almost done, I trust in Mourinho.

De Gea
Valencia----Bailly----Lindelof-----Shaw
---Herrera---Pogba--
Sanchez-----------James------------Perisic
----Lukaku--

Have to admit, I was never sold on the AG idea. True I only saw him in a few games, but he scored in none of them and assisted in the scoring of none!. I agree with those who think he might come at a later stage and that is OK but at the moment we need a proven goal-scorer. If - and I repeat if -- anyone said to be AG or Ronaldo (for instance), I'd bite Real's arm off in a second. We need a number 9 more than a 10 at the moment (although I remain convinced there are better number 10s than Mata)

Our attack will be improved next season, regardless. We have to as we came up well short. Jose is no fool lads. Griezmann was never the sole man to replace the goals Ibra gave us, he isnt that type of style. We were always going to get 2 forwards in, especially after Ibras injury. A striker and someone as a support striker (a la Griezmann). We have a sheer lack of shared goals, one player was never going to fix that. It will be 2 forwards in, whether Grizmann comes or not, there will still be a main striker sitting in front of him.

1 centre back
1 midfielder
1 support striker
1 main striker

that will prob be the spine of our business.

No left-back? Agree with everything else.
