Jose Mourinho sacked

No spoiler cup final against City now. Shame, think City will batter them now.

I think it's a very black-and-white stance you're taking. The fact that Mourinho is, unquestionably, a morally corrupt, money-grabbing parasite doesn't exclude the possibility that he may find the ESL to be fundamentally against the ethos and principles of the game he has dedicated his life to.
It makes no sense. So if it goes ahead he'd prefer managing a mid table team than one of these elite 15?

Not surprised to see journalists say its not the case.

Me too, but I hate the ESL infinitely more.
Agreed, but i would rather both go away. I don't think the timing of Mourinho's sacking will make any kind of significant difference to whether the super league happens or not. I think it could make a significant difference to whether Mourinho gets another high profile job if it's spun right.

I think this is his Retirement package. He will go back to Portugal and maybe chill for a few years. The man needs to relax because he hasn't grown one bit since his second stint at Chelsea. It was stupid of Levy to appoint him in the first place after watching what he did to Man United because we do not sack managers left, right and center. He definitely isn't a manager that can keep his dressing room happy and motivate them to do better. The man is obsessed with his antiques and they are no longer a working method in the modern day football. I also Spurs were scared they were going to lose players like Kane, Son if he continued at the club. It may not have been the best decision to sack him just before the Carabao Cup final but I'm glad Mr. Levy realized his mistake faster than Mr. Ed Woodward.

34 million payout is huge though.

It looked a bad appointment from day one, I thought he'd at least get them a league cup before spiralling out of control, didn't even manage that. Levy was an idiot and got exactly what he deserved.

Levy trying the new manager bounce just before a cup final... interesting strategy.

Its a masterstroke in terms of timing. Will go as under the radar as it ever could have done with the Super League announcement, and if the dressing room are as against him as they seem to be they will all be bouncing down to Wembley this weekend.

Oh look classless cnut scammed another club for big payout. Imagine thinking this is in protest to League of cnuts. Spurs can afford to get rid, also why on earth you would have someone like JM in franchise type of "competition", they cant get relegated, why would want someone in charge who parks Boing 747 and plays coward football.

Spurs might be as well to keep in mind that some of their top candidates for this job might have very strong views on them agreeing to sign up for the European Super League and could them to feck off

For all we know maybe Mourinho got the sack because he may have told levy he was against spurs being part of the European super league as it seems odd timing to sack him and very un-levy like to needlessly pay out millions of pounds.

Or maybe Jose was too shit at his job that board had no other option but to sack him. Timing is perfect for them, whole world is talking about super league and no one cares about Spurs sacking one more manager.

His lawyers and PR must have been salivating when ESL news broke. No matter what happened, they had a way out and a massive check coming in. He really is a serial winner. :D

Bizarre and totally a wrong match by Levy to begin with. No club with budget restrictions and need to see good football should go anywhere near Mou. Couple that with the fact his toxic personality, I think the next step is to back to some mid table plodder in Italy.

I’m sorry to do this but hahahahaha. The specialist in failure couldn’t make top 4 or win anything without a world class team or budget. Hahahahaha. This dickhead has nothing on Wenger who did it on less of a budget than Mourinho did. The real specialist in failure is revealed. Thank you and good day.

Brilliant move by Jose if true. Despite his poor results in recent years, he will be remembered as having been on the right side of history.

How does that make him classless? It's not his fault owners are stupid enough to hire him, then give him a crazy wage and contract length.

I think Serie A will still suit his style. He should try to go there, try Lazio, AS Roma or Napoli or even Juventus.

A tiny tiny bit of me feels sorry for Mourinho. He was IT for a certain period of top level elite football and football has moved on. He is literally finished at the top level.

PSG next me thinks, although Levy will probably have him tied down for the next year or so.

I can think of 35 million reasons why I dont feel sorry for him

But I get the sentiment. Seeing a once great manager getting sacked after a few months by Spurs is pretty sad

But nah, feck him

will super league promotion will be newest Mourinho's biggest achievement in the career?

So Spurs to beat City in the league cup now? Surprised he's sacked at this moment, but as usual with him, things have probably become untenable.

As people are saying above, there must be some clause or money issue with this. There must be something about winning a trophy and money. They are spinning a bad run of form but Spurs never be on good runs of form anyway. Something going on behind the scenes. Did Harry tell Levy it was him or Mou?

I look forward to his punditry.

When he was talking about just football he was brilliant in his last stint aside for saying the phrase "low block" and then every FM wannabe using it when discussing tactics online

Didnt he pretty much alienate everyone else in Italy besides Inter when he was there though? Juve and him have a massive dislike of each other it seems.

Did he though? It was only Juventus and AC Milan as far what I know.

Sacked or walked? Clearly him and Levy have fundamentally disagreed on something and that’s that with Mourinho and his massive ego. The timing is too odd to sack him now ahead of a cup final with Mourinho’s good record in one off finals. Seemed a crazy signing at the time after his last debacle leaving United. He needs a sabbatical and then if he craves it again, take a lesser profile job in somewhere like Serie A or Ligue 1.
