Jose Mourinho | Sacked by Roma

2007: Mourinho gets sacked by Chelsea two days after dropping points against Rosenborg
2018: Mourinho gets sacked by United. Solskjaer swoops in and takes his job.
2020: Gets absolutely smashed by Bodø/Glimt

Surely Mourinho must hate Norway at this point.

As I said before, he's having more transfer funding than Fonseca who had to rely on loans and experienced players dismissed from top clubs (100M €) and in the end of the season he will be presenting much less overall results.

He has completely lost it, should retire already 'cause it's getting embarrassing
6-1 to Bodo/Glimt

Just watched the highlights. It was a completely deserved scoreline it seems as Bodø/Glimt cut them open again and again. Solbakken and Botheim in particular were immense

Roma on the other hand, only tried route 1 tactics where they hoofed it up to their striker (based on the highlights)

You are right, except Patrick Berg was the giant of the match. Looking for a defensive midfielder anyone?

Well, from Tuttosport.it > norwegian > english =

"historic beating for Mourinho. Impressive defeat for Giallorossi, who distributes the other lines in the cold in Norway: the listing of the big names in the second half does not change the game".

Ok summary from Italian point of view.

"If i could always play with the same XI, then I would. It’s risky, because we have a huge gap in quality between the two groups of players. I knew the limits of this squad, it is not new to me, but I still expected a better response. As I said, it’s my choice to play them, so my responsibility.
I never disguised the fact we were a squad with real limitations. We have 13 players who represent one team, the others are on a different level."

or

"I wanna go to Newcastle when they can spend 300m for transfers in the summer".

Feel sorry for whichever Roma player he has decided to bully this season

I truly and sincerely despise this man now. Not just as a coach, but as a human being. It's sad because I grew up with him as my footballing inspiration.

He hasn't turned into Wenger or others who he has criticized, he's actually much, much worse.

He is an odious toad of a man. Bizarre that he still gets job offers these days.

When you're facing worldbeaters like "Ola Solbakken" there's just nothing you can do sometimes.

Bodø-Glim is a surprisingly good team. They're a bit comparable to Ajax 2 years ago scaled down to the Conference league. CSKA Sofia held them to 0-0, and they really got away with one.

Its one of those nights where everything goes in for the Norwegian side. News outlets are having a feast

If only Jose had stuck to the first half there it'd be well received by the squad. Instead they will be plotting if there's any way to eject Jose down the airplanes toilet mid-flight

I'm curious as to how his relationship with Tammy will evolve.

All is well between the two right now but Tammy has a really bad bottom level and if he displays it under Mou for any serious period of time.....

Director Tiago Pinto said before the game that it was the media trying to stir up tension between Mourinho and the club over the lack of strength in depth, but the coach required absolutely no help to broach the subject.

“If I could always play with the same XI, then I would. It’s risky, because we have a huge gap in quality between the two groups of players. I knew the limits of this squad, it is not new to me, but I still expected a better response. As I said, it’s my choice to play them, so my responsibility.”

Will this heavy defeat damage Roma’s confidence going forward this season?

“Every defeat does damage. I spoke to the players and was honest. I was honest with them, I cannot be honest with you.

“I never disguised the fact we were a squad with real limitations. We have 13 players who represent one team, the others are on a different level.

“At least the positive thing from now on is that nobody will ask me why I always use the same players.”

He’s actually done. Needs to retire or manage Portugal, where he can’t piss everyone off.

This man needs to retire. He’s accomplished a lot and has his place in history.

I've said many times that he should have moved to NT football after 2016. It would be an interesting, gradual, prestigious retirement; maybe a title with Portugal, Italy, or England, who knows. It's not too late.

I heard Roma had started the season quite well. You've always got one eye on the inevitable meltdown with Jose though

Not making excuses for them or Spurs but I do have to wonder about the mentality of the players playing in this new competition and if the clubs who feel as if they have champions league aspirations think they're too good for it. I remember him saying he found it hard to get some of our players motivated for the Europa League games which seemed crazy to me at the time.

Opposition had 7 shots on target and scored 6!?

To be fair they haven't started badly. Too many changes today but the score line is surprising.
