Absolutely no surprises here then. Many of us tried to tell the giddy spurs fans about what lay ahead. They weren’t interested as they were in the honeymoon period. Unfortunately for them, it’s going to be a painful grind and not something that will end very soon. Levy won’t fire him as quick as he should.

Can’t be true, Levy can’t be that stupid

I distinctly remember hearing him say he had been working on something new, it might have been when he was a pundit on Sky but I definitely remember it. He's a great actor and incredibly charming, I don't blame Levy for falling for the charm. Still hilarious though

Why would anyone fall for this. Jose will not change, if you ask Jose what are his two greatest games he has ever managed, he will have the 2-0 win over Liverpool at anfield (the Gerrard slip) and the second leg against barca when he was managing Inter. He became a fan of those two performances that he just wants to do that every game. He loves being a underdog. I still remember when he was United's manager the man was upping Celta freaking Vigo as if they were prime barca. That reflects in his style of football. The guy will not change.

Which is bizarre because those two games were 9 and 11 years ago. Football has changed, the landscape has changed and the only noteworthy thing he's won in 6 years is the Europa League. He used to mercilessly mock Wenger but he's turned into a much worse version of him.

It’s probably true he had an idea of something different. I remember at the beginning his Spurs played more positive but a little bit too open football. The results were not good either. It seems he just regress back to the old one.
Yep, it was same when he returned with us, was all about embracing the project and even early on after a defeat to Everton said he was happy because we played well and at that stage preffered it to a shithouse win.

I do think he does go into new jobs (probably every single one since Real) with the intention of changing and making his approach more sustainable but when it comes to putting his money where his mouth is he just simply doesn't have the nerve, he fools himself as much as he does the boards of the clubs.

Yeah, did you watch us against Sheffield ?
We scored a goal. Spurs didn’t even go close to scoring against a side who hadn’t won at the Amex all season and can’t keep clean sheets or take their chances for love nor money. Brighton and better than Sheffield but Spurs were worse than us.

Alot of fans saying Ole is Park the bus football, clearly don't remember having Jose as manager?

If Ole is Park the bus, what is Jose?

Is anyone still saying that? I think it's fairly clear now our model is to play out from the back, press, and hit on the counter if the opportunity prevents itself.

On the Ole thread yeah. I dont get how people say there is no style. There clearly is but we just dont like it. That is the problem.

Tbf most of the people don't have a clue on what the "parking the bus" means.

Same. I'd say first 3 seasons are the pinnacle of sitcoms.

Perhaps I've been watching it in too closely together but Season 3 is a bit too 'try hard' in upping the game/high concept and the spark isn't there anymore. Still enjoyable but I think it speaks more to the wildly creative peaks and energetic performances in the first two seasons that I'm comparing tbh. I think with the behind the scene issues (Chevy), the long hours and everything else (Donald etc getting more recognition), it was inevitable it was always going to plateau after the insane high.

I'm not a big TV watcher but I would have Arrested Development (again the first several sesons) up there with Community. Two auteur level creators writing two shows with fresh perspectives of pure wit and original characters.

Would be hilarious if they sacked him before the league cup final.

Nobody could have predicted this.

This is horrible. I think if ever I needed confirmation Jose is done, this is it.

There’s one thing defending and setting up to be defensive but this isn’t even a well-implemented defensive set-up. It’s just rubbish, unnecessary and it must be so horrible to play this way

The first 35 minutes might have been the most embarassing performance by a team I've ever seen. Unbelievably terrible.

He could still win a cup. In fact, im almost hoping for it and he gets his contract extended

This is the shittest I’ve seen Spurs play for years. It reminds me so much of Joses last year with us.

I really hope Jose doesn’t disappear quicker than the Spurs fans here. Need him to grind the club down for a couple more years yet.

Seriously this is terrible so far.

Feel a wee bit for the resident spurs men who just over a month ago where at that stage we were defending him and backing the process and saying cup final win all they want. It's not worth it trust me. Short term more than anything.

They were saying Tottenham were genuine title contenders about 6 weeks ago.

But then people were saying "anyone" could win the league as if it was an 8-10 team free for all.

Spurs could still win but still won't vindicate him.
Football is meant to be enjoyed. This man is a dinosaur. Loot at the way Sours are playing ffs. This is an abomination.
