We rely on Rashford's individual brilliance to get the goal, send an extra defender on and park the bus to defend our lead just like the way Mourinho does all the time. Yet, I see few criticize Ole for the same approach.

You seen state of us defending he had no choice

Bale if fit has no reason not to give it his all. With that front 3 they're gonna tear it up. They'll be way above Chelsea and that's all that matters in Londinium. Anyone thinking Mourinho is getting sacked this season is more mistaken than a man who thinks Hillaire Belloc is still alive.

I remember when Mourinho was criticised for going defensive against Juventus, who are a much better team than Brighton. I think the other poster is just pointing out the double standards used to judge managers.

It is fine going defensive when needed (albeit, you shouldn't need to against Brighton), but the way people judge performances based on the manager is ridiculous. We did park the bus against Brighton, yet you don't hear anything from the same people who would criticise such a performance under another manager.

I don't mind us going 5 at the back when we're leading despite us having been run over the entire game.

The issue I and most others had with Mou was him going all defensive - basically playing for a draw from 1st min. I'm referring to the two 0-0s we had vs Pool in his 1st two seasons, the 0-0 vs City in his 1st season and those games.

Ole was asked after the Brighton games about the number of times they hit the woodwork, he said "We have to be grateful Jose is not here to measure the goalposts, it might have been smaller goals".
Ah I see. Well then yeah, Jose does seem to be a prick

But why? Our pens have all been given in the box. Ole’s didn’t make sense too, because Brighton hit perfectly tall goalposts. What are these two bickering about?

He is basically insinuating that we get most of our goals from penalties so Ole would therefore like if the box was bigger so we would get more penalties and score more.

I see. Then why 22? Make it 50! 4 yards hardly makes a difference.

These two aren’t that funny are they?

Ole v Jose is the rivalry I didn't even know I wanted until now.

When's your next press conference?

If Jose says anything about Ole's managerial career, Ole can just come back with "yeah, but they sacked you for me" and that's kinda it.

We play them next week. So Friday will be interesting.

I watched Oles interview yesterday and he didn’t even seem to be having a pop at Jose? Just having a joke really. I’d be interested to see it Jose actually seemed annoyed or if it just reads like that.

Must feel like very big fall for Jose, he used to banter with Pep, Klopp, etc and now...Ole fokin Solskjær.

A bit precious from Mourinho.

Ole wasn't even having a dig at him, it was more a joke about us being lucky with Brighton hitting the goalposts, and referencing Mourinho because it was topical to the situation.

Who cares what someone said about Mourinho back then,

We were brutal defending yesterday he made the changes to try and keep the 3 points.

What happened load of years ago is illrevant, he made the changes at the time to suit the match in hand. It's no here or there

The penalty jibes don't even make sense given the fact that most of them were nailed on penalties.

Or should refs NOT give penalties when they're deserved now?

Not only has Jose lost all his magic and being more or less unbeatable all the way from around 2003 until 2010, but he has also completely lost all his charisma, humour, communication skills and superiority off the pitch. He should just retire.

I think Ole actually complemented jose for his pendantic nature in a light manner. Jose has no sense of humor. Probably lost in English.

Ole's was most certainly a very light-hearted joke that nobody in the right mind would take offense to.

We're talking about Jose here though. He lives for this sort of conflict.

So much commotion after a Jose's reply. Keep digging lads!
