I don't really understand why certain users feel such a need to polarize the debate. I'm not sure what the reasons are, if it's an inability to argue points without misrepresenting what others are writing, this straw man debate is somewhat boring and unintelligent.
The point that is being made is that we aren't playing well, and that our football is a bit shit. Using goals scored as a counter-argument is the obvious choice for some, I'd argue that goals scored isn't really a good way to prove anything, which can easily be shown by looking at the match against Everton, where we were dire and barely hanging on to a one goal lead when Everton gifted us our second goal in the 84th min and the floodgates opened.
For me it's simple. If we celebrate winning the league at the end of the season, I wouldn't be less bothered about how we've played to get there. Imho, we're unlikely to reach such a point due the our current style (or lack of). Our football is unimaginative, we're too static with slow passing and we often end up hoofing it up to Lukaku and hoping for the best.
If it's due to missing Pogba in central midfield and we'll gradually improve our overall performances once he's back, could be. If we're able to gradually build on victories by playing better and better, we'll hopefully unlock the potential of Lukaku, Rashford and Martial.
The safe approach vs Spurs in itself isn't a problem, but when you consider our completed pass stat of 70% for the first half it's hardly a pretty picture.
