Got Klopp in the first half.

Second half was the stuff of heart attacks. The away team having 75% possession is not impressive.

Had us playing some lovely free-flowing stuff at times in the first half, but we went way too deep at the start of the second considering they're potentially dangerous in attack and it was always going to be a long time for us to have to hold out.

He does organise a defence very well though...goal and a few nervy moments aside we never really looked like conceding all that much, which is to our credit.

Not quite as good as your masterful prediction but:

Liverpool will be buoyed by the lack of Pogba and Martial and go for the jugular, Sanchez will pick them off on the counter and then Lukaku will make it 2-0. Mourinho will go defensive, Salah will score with about 15 to go and after getting a bollocking on here for stupid tactics Utd will see out the game.

There was no counter in the second half - we retreated far too soon. First half was spot on, mind.

I understand the quibbles about conceding that much ground in the second half but I thought he played a stormer today. Initial selection, Fellaini for Rashford, perfect day at the office for him.

Beat Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham so far this season. Couple of stinking away games too of course but this myth that he’s ‘found out’ has to stop

Winning this and the Chelsea home match has definitely improved my opinion of things.

Think if we had lost those games I would not have been too positive on things going forward.

Its laughable really that people here think Mourinho is sitting on the touchline, making tactics changes on FM. Obviously, he wanted his midfield to be higher but there is only so much he can do from the sidelines. The players were clearly retreating into their shells despite having a two goal cushion to defend.

Fair play to the team though for seeing it out. They didn't look like scoring at all, and that's an amazing achievement considering they were supposed to be this dangerous team.

Maybe not but Mourinho had a game plan and it worked to perfection, they didn't create a single clear cut chance and we scored 2 and should have at least scored 1 more. This is why Mourinho is such a far superior manager to Klopp because he knows there are more than 1 way to win a match, Klopp doesn't. Great day to be a United fan, enjoy it. :)

I'll never not moan about the tactics on display after the break today. We should never sit back and concede all momentum that early in the game, at home at Old Trafford. We had them right where we wanted them, FFS!

That said, he got it absolutely spot on in the first half. And after we conceded, he got it right again, even if I was cursing at the TV when he took off Rash :nervous:

Clearly fallen out with Pogba.

I’m glad he’s cool as a cucumber, because I nearly shat myself in that second half.

The guy is gonna give me a heart attack with these backs to the walls games.

I am getting used to his tactics now. There wouldn't be games where we will score 3 or 4 goals by committing more players forward. Once we have a convincing lead ,he likes to stay back and make things tight.

I did though I spent the entire second half swearing violently at the tv.

Turn over Seville midweek and we’re in a nice spell.

20 wins from 30 so far in league is proof enough we’re in right direction, add in a European and cup run and there’s some genuine progress to build on

13 points from big games this season. Defeated Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs.

Meanwhile, Liverpool won only 2 big games from 9 and get all the credit from being great and attacking.

"Terrible in big games" indeed.

1st half was spot on, maybe opinions would be different if it was 0:0 but 2nd half and what we do with a ball after winning it is way to extreme for me, personally dont see reason for it.

Got the right players today for his preferred 4231. Pogba injury just turned out as a blessing in disguise for him.

I did enjoy his final comments of "I'm tired, I don't care (if they don't think we deserved it), the boys are happy, I'm happy (feck off)".

Without Martial and Pogba who'll probably play against Sevilla or Brighton but still managed to win with what he had at disposal.

Big time manager who can adapt to multiple type situations.

No more knee jerk reactions from me, I’m sure this man is the man to take us forward. There will be more poor results here and there until the end of the season but ultimately Jose has taken us forward and I trust him to continue taking us forward. A true winner.

Second place soon to be sealed, wins over Chelsea and Liverpool, Lukaku looking like the perfect striker, McTominay coming on --- walking on clouds at the moment.
