José Mourinho: Fenerbahçe Manager (sack watch)

I did like David Squires recent characterisation of Mourinho as being in the 'fat Elvis in Vegas' phase of his career

Mourinho also criticised the Turkish league in his post-match press conference, claiming “nobody abroad” wants to watch it.

“Who wants to watch this Turkish league abroad? They have the Premier League, they have the French league, they have the German league, they have the Portuguese league, they have the Dutch league. Why should they see this?

“It’s too grey. It’s too dark, smells bad. But that’s my job, and I will give everything to my job, to my club.

“I don’t think abroad many people watch the Turkish league. I think in London only my son watches the Turkish league, nobody else.

Why accepting the job in the first place Jose?

Guess he's ready for a new club. I'll always love me some Jose though.

I've never been compelled to watch the Turkish League but I think he's just sold it to me. Grey, dark and smelly football. What's not to like?

I don't think I've ever heard an entire football league described as "smelly" before. Until this day.

He’s saying it’s a corrupt league, right?

Its the typical Us Vs The World narrative of Jose Mourinho. Fenerbahce vs the whole turkish football that is corrupt and working in favour of Galatasaray.. Jose is trying to heat up the battle for the title but he is currently 5 points behind the leaders..

He's obviously after a position in Amorim's backroom staff.

He's been gagging to leave recently and will do everything possible to make it happen. Horrible scrote

He must be careful over there. Didn’t one of the clubs owners come o to the field with a gun to intimidate the match officials?
Think it was his owner actually, so, no worries :)

:lol::lol: Hope he is having a lot of fun in Turkiye

Sad that he is not managing at the top level, anymore

Always something happenning with him  Yanking his player away from a goal celebration so he could bring him on as a sub and doing the same with one of his coaches when I think there was an injury.

Won 3-1 to cut the gap on Galatasaray to 3 points. They drew with every Yorkshireman's favourite Turkish team, Eyupspor.

Interesting the league is not completely done, 6 points between Gala and Fenerbache.

Fighting the good fight against City's cheating still + riling up Pep.

Knowing how turks love their football he'll become a living legend if he manages to give them the title.

True, although they were dealt a blow at the weekend. Lost against Besiktas, it was only 3 points before that. 102 points for Galatasary last season, 14 games unbeaten this, they don't drop many points at all so it would be very tough to win it even if 6 points doesn't look like too much.

They've already played each other once too, Fenerbahce 1-3 Gala. Those big head to head games are vital, so to lose the home one while still having to go away is another big hurdle to overcome. Wouldn't quite say Fener would have to win there when they play each other again to have any chance as there's so much of the season to go, but when you're up against a machine like that it almost looks that way already.

I hear you're a racist now Jose

Galatasaray accuse Mourinho of ‘racist statements’ and vow to take legal action

  • Fenerbahce manager accused of ‘inhumane rhetoric’
  • He criticised Galatasaray behaviour and Turkish referees
Galatasaray have accused José Mourinho of making “racist statements” and said they would initiate criminal proceedings against the Fenerbahce manager over his comments after their 0-0 Super Lig draw on Monday.

Although it was not clear which statements Galatasaray were referring to, Mourinho said the home side’s bench had been “jumping like monkeys” and that the match would have been a disaster if a Turkish referee had been in charge. Monday’s game was refereed by the Slovenian Slavko Vincic after both clubs requested a foreign official take charge.

Galatasaray said on X that Mourinho had “persistently issued derogatory statements directed towards the Turkish people” since taking up his role in the league. “Today, his discourse has escalated beyond merely immoral comments into unequivocally inhumane rhetoric,” the club said.

Utter tosh from Galatasaray
