The first got us knocked out of the FA Cup, the next puts us in a good position in our Round of 16 Europa League game, and the latest was an actual decent performance against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

I remember that one. Was against Giroud I think. Played some really good passes too.

He has really emerged from that rough patch as a much better player. There were times during his bad form when he was often criticised for his distribution, trying difficult passes when there were easier ones available, but it's a real feature of his game now.
He also chooses the right times to step in and nick the ball now whereas before he would often read it but not get there before his opponent.

I said recently he has that potentially great cb aura about him and someone asked what did I understand by that. That performance is the answer.

Was never any doubts about it, Evans has showed he could handle the likes of Drogba previously, Giroud is a joke compared to him.
He has yet to commit a foul this season according to the Danish commentators, pretty impressive! Rioesque stat.
Ayee spot on, he's developing into an absolute class act. Him and Smalling in a few years will be such a composed and technical pairing.
His passing is underrated.
Has completely outstripped Rio in terms of distrubution. His progress is a thing of beauty. Better in the air and on the ball than he was 18 months ago. Going to be a phenomenal defender.
I don't think that was actually a great pass, by Jonny's standards. I think he was trying to land it at Rafael's feet, not bounce it ten yards in front of him. Rafa did damn well to control it.
That was the better way to pass though, instead of waiting for the pass and losing momentum, he was able to carry on his run at speed and control it much higher up the pitch.
How do you come to that conclusion? Looked like a great pass for me.
Don't agree, I don't think there's enough evidence to say he mishit it, and the better pass was the one he ended up using so I'll give him credit for it. Rafa kept it in comfortably as well imo
Looks to me like he was trying to fade it out right earlier than that, but it didn't get the swerve. Doubt he wanted it to bounce so far in front of him, it nearly went out of play.
