Kind of surprised there's not more fuss about him this summer.

Has to be a budgeting issue at this point? Either we splurge for a marquee signing or we try to scrooge around. Instead of signing a few players for 20-50M that are the right age and talented, i.e. Anderson & Nani.We don't seem remotely interested

Why is no one signing him? Why is no one interested? Why the feck aren't we interested?
He looks a a great talent from the videos anyway. It's baffling me. The last time I saw a big talent sit in the French league under a radar before a big club moved, it was Fabinho.
I think as someone else pointed out we might be looking for a more physical striker.Really wish we were in for him, he's a great talent and would fit like a glove in ETH's system
Could be a Greenwood replacement not the same player but a good two footed attacker.Surely this guy can replace obviously Greenwood or even Elanga who is blatantly not good enough. You just get the deal done regardless if we genuinely were interested in improving the squad for the coming years.
David's issue at the moment is his consistency. He's yet to be consistent enough for a top, title-challenging team. Even when he was performing in that title-winning Lille team, he was still not a consistent attacking threat. There were games where he'd barely get involved mostly because he'd make the wrong runs or get in the wrong positions, similar to Martial. On that note, he's not necessarily a pure out-and-out striker like Martial. Sure, he can score goals, but he can't necessarily lead the attacking line on his own. He's always been at his best for both Canada and Lille with another forward partnering him. In the pre-season, he's been playing more as a Rooney-like #10, and he's thrived in that role.
Maybe he can work well as a false-9 sort of lone striker under ten Hag, but he won't be leading United's or any top club's front line unless he improves his movement and positioning as part of the attacking build-up. He has all of the other tools to potentially be a top striker hence why he can still produce the goods even if he's not in his ideal role.

That's aboot rightHe’s Canadian, so he’ll be excessively nice and too polite for our squad.
It’s so annoying that amid all this flurry of apparent transfer activity in the aftermath of Sunday, all the cack player threads have Ornstein and Witwell reporting our interest, while all the exciting players are bumped by “so how come we’re not in for this guy?”.

Because South Park said so..Joking aside, "aboot" isn't accurate; it's closer to "aboat." It's always puzzled me how people seem to hear "aboot."

True. But they also think we all have split heads.
He looks fat, like someone playing in Socceraid five years after retirement
Am I right ?
I like how specific you are about it!
He does have the Luke shaw behind.Am I right ?
We’ve a £80million fee agreed with BarcaWe made a 7.5m enquiry for Arnautovic and we are in for Rabiot for relative peanuts.
Are these the actions of a club with a big budget? Not for me. I genuinely don't think the talks of a 100m budget plus any money from player sales was very far off the truth.

We need 2 midfielders at leastAnd yet we are signing Rabiot. Hahaha
then it clearly defeats your non point then doesn't it?And yet we are signing Rabiot. Hahaha
