Maradona walks up slowly, holding the ball with both his hands. He looks dead confident like always in the run up and hits it to the left
Dasaev goes early to the wrong side and we have 2-2
 
Rivaldo versus Banks. He shoots it right
and Banks who is convinced of not letting another one through centrally stays put. 3-2 Joga
 
Briegel is up, he blasts it in the middle
and Dasaev reads him like an open book and saves. 3-2 Joga
 
We have seen some atrocious goalkeeping so far from Banks, even John Terry would have scored against him today. El Negro Jefe stares down Dasaev, runs towards the ball and hits it confidently in the middle.
Banks dives to his right and we have a 4-2 lead to Joga Bonito.

Seeler steps up, quickly makes his way to the ball and places it to the left
Dasaev again dives to the other side of the goal. 4-3 to Joga
 
Banks was so angry that he left the stadium and now Dasaev does the goalkeeping for both sides, honest russian!
 
Keane is up for Joga Bonito and if he scores they take the victory. Varela is hyping Keane up and they look like the Bash Brothers. Banks goes early to the right
Keane just shakes his head and places it down the middle. It is over, Joga Bonito makes it through with a 5-3 penalty win.

Might have replaced Ardiles (and Briegel eventually, maybe) I suppose, but otherwise, I was very happy with we had, in terms of chemistry

Aye it was just a shitty draw and one I didn't enjoy in particular as I really appreciated MDFC's and @Mani team. They crafted a brilliant team despite spending a significant chunk on Maradona, the team had great tactical cohesiveness overall. The likes of Seeler and Boniek in the forward line are final worthy and to have gotten them so early in addition to Maradona is excellent drafting. Fantastic midfield and defense as well, could hardly find anything wrong with anything tbh and had to nitpick.

It's hard to believe that this is just your second draft. You've drafted two excellent teams so far and have just been extremely unlucky in the first round with 2 close matches, which could have gone either way tbh.
 
Excellent work from both teams. Absolutely loved the Maradona-Boniek-Seeler, all three my favourites and GOATs at what they did, and what they did fits beautifully.

Shame the switch took so long, would have gone for it otherwise.
