Joao Felix / on loan to Chelsea

I disagree. When Roman took over he had to buy a lot to see what works out and then weed out misfits to build a foundation. Even there they recruited smartly. After that there was definite purpose when adding new. All those trophies is a proof that recruitment worked. Of course he indulged himself every now and then but he never in my memory unbalanced the squad. Then they also bought many to create loan army, which is okay if that was club's vision.

But this! This is sheer craziness by Boehly.

Shevchenko says Hi ;)

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, the Glazers are on the way out. You’re the one advocating throwing money (that we don’t have) away for nothing. What’s the point spending 20 million on a player who you know won’t be here in 6 months? Are your standards that low?
You would think so, but they’re treating this January like they’re still going to be here in the summer and that’s a major concern for me. I’m just hoping they want to present totally in order books when they meet potential buyers and not show they completely blew the budget this year.

What are they doing?? They are on the same boat as us, they need a goal scorer first and foremost. Didn't think any club will take Atletico's bait.

I guess he is replacing Pulisic?

Very good player but the fee is ridiculous for just over 4 months of season. You just know he will score when he plays us though, probably Gapko too. For me not getting these players is not so much that I really wanted them, it’s just that it is strengthening teams that are currently struggling but rarely finish outside of the top 4. Still a very long way to go this season and I’m not getting as giddy as many, despite how impressed I am with ETH and several players. Top 4 will still be one hell of an achievement for us but I’m slightly worried about who will be our reinforcements once we inevitably have a wobble and injuries.

Frustrating, we need depth and Chelsea signing players for fun. As long as we can get top 4 this season but a good winter window would have help

They lost Auba, Pulisic, and Sterling to injuries, whilst Loftus-Cheek and Broja have been out for a long while. Félix will be able to address that immediate need, at least, but after that, I don't know what the plan is.

Chelsea buying the 15th CAM in their squad. What is the point, they have a similar player in Havertz, there are also Mount, Chukwuemeka, Sterling, Ziyech, Pulisic, etc.

Chelsea had just paid more on loan for Felix than our target Weghorst highest value ever achieved in his transfer history. This tell us where we are at ,there isn't any money really available for the size of club we are. We are a badly run club nothing has changed we couldn't sell fresh water in the sahara. Tenhag and his new staff are being let down here big style.

Auba isn’t injured while Pulisic is only a couple of weeks.
Nobody can tell me now Potter isn’t under pressure after this. If it was long term they wouldn’t be doing this terrible deal

Yeah just don't want to even contemplate them still being here in the summer and not being able to sign a top ST and progressive CM

Auba missed the City match due to some pain on his back. Whether that'll also be a problem in the next match remains to be seen.

Remember when they begged CHO to stay on at £120,000 per week and then barely played him as they got their latest toy? Same with RLC, Tomori, Gilmour and countless . Seems like Mount will be the latest casualty from shiny new toy syndrome.
the way Mount is playing that will be a relief

Chelsea seem to have the money to burn just to find the right LW/SS for their team. Fair play to them.

I believe any loan signing would cost us millions also.

Speaking of standard, United shouldn't depend on Burnley reject striker as potentially the savior of our season. He may or may not come good, but that's not the point.

Congrats on signing their Bruno to Chelsea. Well it's Bruno minus the work rate and aggression. So essentially you only got the chance wasting, sloppy passing and diving.

Yeah. Next to his shit goal record, aggression is another thing that concern me about Felix. This is all based on his WC, though.

They must have a heck of a pitch every time they meet with a player though. Everyone “love their project”. It’s been said in relation to Moukokou too. Chelsea is horrible at enabling 18-19 y/o to take the next step. Easily the worst in football. Why the heck would a big talent 18-19 y/o go there? Like sure, if you are 15-16, you can count on them to make a footballer out of you. Perhaps better than anyone else. But these kids never end up playin for Chelsea.

Potter is playing kids right now, but when Boehly is done spending — non of the kids playing will get any playing time. Would he sit Nkunku on the bench to play a Omari Hutchinson. Someone like Moukokou should look at Chelsea and be anything but impressed, kids — leave — Chelsea to take the next step. Not the other way around. Still he comes away blown away by the project? Haha. Must be a really nice presentation they have.

I think they must be telling players they are going to be ultra ambitious, be massive spenders, and look to sign the best young players in Europe to become the dominant force, and that's what we see you as.

Players aren't the brightest, so they generally believe the waffle as long as the £££ signs are there, without really looking at how the team are currently doing, their style, how they'll fit in, and what sort of competition do they have currently and are likely to have in the future if they are haphazard spenders.

What other loan signing costs over £15m without an option to buy?!

Horrible deal (the norm for Chelsea), especially if, as seems to be suggested, there's no buy option. What's even the point of the deal? They're not going to get into Europe this season and he won't even be there next season. The owner of that club is almost making the Glazers look competent.

By the way this is even further emphasising how much I want us to stay away from any American owners who clearly know nothing about football. Give me an oil state.

Chelsea is loaning him . But Chelsea is buying trash. So he is a bad player.

I … sincerely don’t know. I very much hope he proves me wrong … but I very much don’t think he will.

To those teams worried you might get him: you’re welcome.

I don't know, mate. I was just responding to that post which said that 20 m would be a waste, then speaking about "standard".

I personally don't care if we spend 50m on 6 months loan, as long as we know he will immensely improve us. The thing about Felix, for me it's not just about the money, but there's just so much doubt about his overall contribution.

No it's not. It's a fee of 10m for half a season which is equivalent to 80m for a player on a 4 year deal. Its actually better than buying as it's effectively a probation period. Something we could have done with given the money we've wasted over the years.

Also, even if they reach the CL final, they will pay 3 weeks ( 1 month if they don't) of his off-season wages...

No it’s £10m + his £5.6m wages with no option to buy.
