Ji Sung Park to Bayern Munich?

He certainly wasn't a name I thought of when Fergie hinted at a couple of sales this week, but it's not impossible. With his age, if the money is good and if Fergie wants to bring forward the likes of Obertan, Cleverly and maybe Tosic, it could actually happen.

It all depends on how many players we intend to sign, because for every player coming in, someone will have to go.

If you take SAF at his word then 2 players max will be brought in if possible. I have a feeling that more than 2 will be sold. However he's not a name I think SAF has on his list of departures....he's just signed an extension to his contract hasn't he?

7m is bordering on insulting to the club's intelligence, though.

I think the "one or two" sales are Foster and perhaps Berba (personally I'd give him until next January), with the latter's fate depending on who we can get coming in.

Montoya, he did. The extension put him on 75k/week. Don't remember if it was till '12 or '13 though.

I don't feel that's the case at all. We've just signed Hernandez and we also have Diouf,Macheda and Welbeck, if he doesn't go on loan. Four strikers is all we'll keep.

My feeling is central midfield is where we'll try and strengthen

Yeah, I didn't mean a striker to replace him.

Heck, I've been wishing since Ronaldo left that we not sign anyone for the next three years and just promote from within. There's nothing like watching a homegrown star being born.

7m for Park is not an insult. It's a decent fee for someone who hasn't been a regular in the team this season. How much do you expect to get for him?

I remember there were plenty of talks a few months ago about Park being close to sign a new deal. I don't remember it was ever announced, though.

As for the sales, I expect Foster to go, but we'll need another keeper. I expect Berbatov to go, but we may well need another striker. If we're also looking at another midfield player, again, someone will have to go...

Milos Krasic touted for Manchester United move in Park Ji-Sung exchange
CSKA Moscow star Milos Krasic has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United this summer, with Sir Alex Ferguson set to offer fellow midfielder Park Ji-Sung in part-exchange.

Milos Krasic Milos Krasic could leave CSKA Moscow to join Manchester United

According to reports on the continent, the 25-year-old playmaker is available for a big-money move when the transfer window re-opens with several big clubs already showing an interest.

Serbian international Krasic is said to have impressed Ferguson when CSKA met United in the group stage of the Champions League last year.

And the Scot is prepared to let fan favourite Park go in the opposite direction to land his man.

Krasic is believed to be valued at as much as £16million by his club, although with the South Korean as a makeweight United may be required to spent less than £10million.

However, with most of the money from last summer's £80million sale of Cristiano Ronaldo still burning a hole in Ferguson's pocket, the cash sum required won't be much of a stumbling block.

In 2009/10 Krasic has enjoyed the best season of his career to date, scoring 13 goals and pulling the strings in a CSKA Moscow side that reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

But in terms of value, what he brings to the club on and off the field is worth far in excess of £7 mill to us.

Not that we would get any more than that, if we were to actually sell him.

To bring in a player equal in standing (On and off the field) would cost a lot more than what we would get for him.

To be honest, he isn't worth much more than £7m. That's close to a fair price for him, problem is we're not going to find anyone better at this price and he's content to be a back-up here, so there isn't really a point selling him. He's a sort of player that you only sell when they ask you to, like Silvestre, Butt or Phil Neville - you don't just sell them for the sake of it, you must have a reason.

Swapping Park for Krasic could be a good idea if Krasic was as good as he's said to be, however I doubt Park would relish a move to Russia and we can't do much if he doesn't want to go. Besides, those swap deals hardly ever happen, particularly between a big club and a smaller club.

Off the field? Are we into the shirts sale talk again? Oh dear.

He's a decent player, can do a good job in several roles, but not a great job in any of them. Good squad player, but if we plan to push other wingers forward - such as Obertan, Tosic, Cleverley - someone will have to leave.

Thank you.

Didn't feel like spelling it out considering people had already done so earlier in the thread.

In the name fo continuous improvement - I say sell him. Just the type of player we need to sell with new legal requirements on foreign imports and he is not essential anyway. We have Cleverley coming into it, Hargreaves back (hopefully), Gibson emerging, Anderson back (hopefully).

Sell him.

Tx

This would be the only reason for selling him. Or, the money being too good

There is no reason to sell him, he is a player that often steps up in big games and shows his worth. He isnt the best player in the world he isnt a star but he is sold through and through, the fact that Bayern are interested in him means there is no way in flying feck United should sell him.

Cant see it being a fact that Bayern are interested, but yeah I agree, we shouldnt sell him unless there's some absolutely fantastic good reason for it

If Bayern were willing to include Robben in a swap deal then they are welcome to Park plus cash but Bayern would not sell Robben for all the money in the world I would imagine! If I was Fergie I would at least inquire about it though!!

Park is currently extremely important to our champions league challenge each season.

If we're not going to spend to make our champions league challenge a lot stronger next season, then fair enough let him go. Go with the kids, make a new Park and so on.

However if we're going to be a side looking to win the competition next season we need to keep him here.

Not worth selling Park imo. Quality, willing, consistent squad players are as important as the 'first teamers'

Came across this pic and didn't know where - out of the 4,504,120.59 Park threads - to put it:

He's also worth a lot more than 7 million, especialy in the oriental markets. People forget over there he's a bigger star than Ronaldo.

Sevilla to move for Manchester United star

Sevilla are set to make a January bid for Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park as the Rojiblancos look to add more quality to the centre of the park.

The South Korean midfielder is not really considered a first team regular at Old Trafford and he could be leaving the club in January, with Sevilla the favourites for his signature.

Sevilla technical director Victor Orta met with Park’s representatives last week and informed them of club’s interest in the Manchester United midfielder.

Sevilla director of football, Ramon Rodriguez, has been watching Park during the last few months and he has instructed the Rojiblancos to make an official bid in January.

Sir Alex Ferguson doesn’t see Park as a key player in the side and he could decide to cash in on him, although his high wages could prove to be an obstacle to the deal.

Despite being on the fringes at Old Trafford over the last two seasons, Ji-Sung Park remains one of the best wingers in Europe and there is no doubt Sevilla would get a gem of a player if only they manage to reach an agreement with United.
