Jesus | Arsenal Player (a very naughty boy)

Another forward who doesn’t score goals

Flings himself to the ground as if he’s been shot.

That's pretty early, i hope we don't try to play him against United before the International break. We don't need months of Nketiah in the PL/CL.

Has one more goal than Hojlund so far in all comps.

Him and Sterling away from City was so predictable. Too extremely wasteful players now struggling in teams that can't afford to keep watching them miss chance after chance.

Yet the early posts in here would have made ya think they signed a worldie.

Jesus is a top top player but isn't clinical. He seems to have everything but that in his locker. He's very important to how we play and build up and was integral to turning our fortunes around last year. We also signed him for a very reasonable fee. But we do have to get another more clinical forward in, probably means Nketiah has to go.

He really isn't a top top player, hence why City had zero issues selling him to you lot.

Jesus was at City for 5 years and won 4 titles with them. I doubt Pep would have kept him for so long if he didn't rate him. He's been largely brilliant for us and has been worth the £45mil we paid for him. He definitely took us to another level when he arrived. But now yes we are needing to bring in other options at CF with him and Nketiah not cutting it in the scoring department.

He was a bang average squad player at a title winning side, nothing more. My original point was that the early over-rating of him was hilarious. It was as if Pep had accidentally just sold a worldie of a player to another PL team.

To be fair to Sterling was a great player at his best. Wasteful but still fantastic - both at Liverpool and City. Jesus is one level below and merely good. As a forward he doesn’t excel at enough forward things.

That’s why he isn’t a “top top” player. He’s a better Welbeck.

Nketiah is probably a better finisher than Jesus.

I think Jesus is a good player but as mentioned isn’t a number 9. His record simply isn’t good enough to hang your hat on for a title challenge.

You’ve spent a hell of a lot of money on the wrong things for me.

He's a good player but very much second tier in terms of quality as he was always good in the build-up but never a hugely consistent at scoring even in his time at City (his record was 1 in 3, I think).

City sold him to buy and make room for Haaland and Alvarez – two players most teams in the Prem would dream of having. It's not so much that he was easy to get rid of as much as they had the absolute perfect replacements lined up already.

He's a SS in the old 4-4-2 formation. Not a dead-eye goalscorer but a good link up guy that can drop back and help out with midfield work and can chip in with the odd goal here and there.

That's fair. Jesus's lack of goals (in PL at least, he's a different animal in CL) is not surprising as he wasn't a grest goalscorer at City (though often played on the right). Unfortunately the striker market is very tough right now that unless we splash serious cash, not sure who we can get as a huge upgrade. There are some reports Brentford are wanting £80mil for Toney.

Pep because he is an elite manager made Sterling and Jesus look unreal.

It was like us under Ferguson winning titles with Anderson.

Well to be fair when we bought him we probably weren't expecting to be challenging for the title last season.

Can't agree with your last sentence. Think we only screwed up with Havertz, based on evidence so far. Other than him, most of Arteta's signings have been good.

80m for Toney

They haven’t been bad but I feel pointless and haven’t addressed your issues.

Raya when you had Ramsdale
Zinchenko when you had Tierney
Havertz… pointless

When you have a limited budget you have to target the areas you really need and it often feels like Arteta likes to try and fix things which aren’t really an issue when spending money on a goalscorer in the summer would have pushed you much closer.

No Sterling was a top player. Nobody “made” him look great. Jesus was a squad player in a top side which is his level. This is nothing like Cleverley and Anderson.

Jesus is a really good player but think back to when he first moved to Arsenal.

All of the media were acting like Arsenal had found some hidden talent but in reality he was the same player City had for years.

He'll always be a liability in front of goal but he has numerous other favourable attributes. I still love him as a player.

Raya is a loan but I do agree it wasn't a pressing issue.
Tierney is incredibly injury prone and Zinchenko transformed how we played last season. I'm a big fan of Tierney and no doubt he's a far better defender than Zinny, but Zinny was integral to how we played last season. He's been less effective this season, probably because other teams have now figured us out. He did try to address that with Timber IMO but then he got injured.

Havertz agree so far hard to see why he spent that kind of money on him. Perhaps it'll all work out in the long run but ATM it's not looking very promising as that money could have been spent on getting a proper CAM.

Actually thinking back; the media done the exact same when we sold them Welbeck. Made out like we had sold them an absolute gem who was going to be a real asset.

Hands down the Xhaka shaped hole in your squad has been your biggest issue all season. Not the lack of better finishers than Jesus or Nketiah.

I'm finding it funny Jesus and Nketiah are getting all the stick. Yet all of Odegaard, Saka and Martinelli have had a significant dip in form and out put since last season.
Yeh Martinelli and Saka have been very sloppy past two games. Unfortunately they've all hit poor form at the same time. Hopefully we can turn it around soon, still plenty to play for and I'm not panicking.
Jesus and Nketiah get the stick as they're the strikers. Jesus in particular missed a sitter vs West Ham.

Yeh, looks like Arteta was trying to be too clever with Havertz. It may turn out in the end but it is baffling that he didn't just sign a proper attacking mid if that's what he wanted.

The very first page isn't overly gushing. Yeah, there's the odd OTT post but plenty felt meh about it. I wouldn't be too critical about the bollocks people come out with.
Absolutely brilliant squaddie but not a good enough starter. In saying that, his stats for his age are amazing.

He was a good squaddie - pretty bang average footballer - at a top side? Where's the gotcha here?

I actually thought when he first arrived he looked a very good talent but he never progressed really. Good attempt at a gotcha.
