No chance.Ok- here’s a prediction. Lingard will get plenty of minutes until the end of the season and earn himself a new contract with us…written in the stars

If he gets plenty of minutes (I think he will) and plays well (I'm less sure of that) then I think he'd be more interested in Newcastle coming back than renewing with us.Ok- here’s a prediction. No way he’ll get a new deal. I’m willing to bet very good money he scores a winning goal in a big game between now and the end of the season though.Ok- here’s a prediction. Lingard will get plenty of minutes until the end of the season and earn himself a new contract with us…written in the stars
Agreed.
Even with what's happened over the weekend, Rashford, Sancho and Elanga are all ahead of Lingard in the pecking order. In reality he's competing with Mata for a spot on the bench.
All of which is supposing Rangnick will rotate Cavani and Ronaldo at centre forward. If Rangnick decides to play them together for even a handful of games, that will give Jesse even less of an opportunity to play.
I'd actually be pleased if this seemed like a thought through response to a need in the team. However, its not. Its just Man Utd trying to show we're tough. It should have been obvious this is how it'd end up after Romero and Rojo. I just thought the club had learned to be smarter. Silly me.
How stupid does this look? Rangnick has twice told Jesse he can leave but the Board is like: 'Nah.' Full Matteo Darmian treatment.
Yep, one good moment this season - correct. Before that? July 2020. Before that? December 2018. So at this rate we should be due another good moment somewhere around 2023... when he's long gone? He’s literally won us 2 points off the bench against a top 4 rival this season in a wide position. Maybe the 100m on offer in CL money will help you get unlost…oh and the fact Mata would be two injuries away from being first choice should he leave. This isn’t difficult stuff.
Why even have Rangnick here for two years after his interim manager job ends? Clearly no one in the club gives a feck what the guy thinks.
Just ship him off, it's getting a bit ridiculous. Don't see him much of a replacement for Greenwood either as i´d expect Mejbri to be in the mix for ou.
Would also include Pogba into that mix, as I think he's at his best on the left. I see no reason in keeping Lingard because of what happened yesterday with Greenwood.
Don't think he should be playing in our midfield either since i'd rather give those minutes to Mejbri, and Pogba is obviously also an alternative for our midfield.
No. Before that 9 goals and 4 assists in 16 PL games in a very fluid West Ham frontline and 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 England appearances. He was wide right numerous times in many of those appearances. Any more questions?Yep, one good moment this season - correct. Before that? July 2020. Before that? December 2018. If that is the case, then he's a bad coach. His job as interim is to use everything at his disposal to salvage top 4.More like he knows Lingard wants out and doesn't intend to play him because if that.
Are you ok? This seems to be getting to you quite a bit. He started once from the left for West Ham by the way, 0 starts from the right.No. Before that 9 goals and 4 assists in 16 PL games in a very fluid West Ham frontline and 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 England appearances. I doubt he gets too many minutes. If we assume he can play in one of the front 4 positions, id say he's behind the following in the current pecking order:Ok- here’s a prediction. We had a £3mil loan fee agreed, could have met Newcastle half way with the relegation survival bonus and called it a £5-6mil fee in total. Surely they would have paid that. Its farcial as RR said off you go son only for the board to block it.Who was paying that? Nobody bid for him let alone came close to that price. We could have got it in this window if he had accepted the offer from Newcastle of a permanent deal but he wants a loan with a fat bonus and then still wants to sign a fat contract as a Free Agent. Greed is the issue but Jesse is the culprit not the club.

Hannibal is set to join the first team squad now and Mata is collecting a pay check to add to those. Lingard isn't going to start many games and is only going to start getting minutes if Bruno picked up a big injury.
- Cavani
- Ronaldo
- Rashford
- Sancho
- Bruno
- Pogba
- Elanga(possibly just due to transfer situation in January, possibly for good)

Perhaps recent events changed everyone’s mind? While he spoke to Rangnick this morn, maybe the reality of us being quite thin on the right is sinking in.Clubs going against managers wishes.
How stupid is that.
Surely we could have loaned Lingard out and got someone who can contribute in
Werent WH offering £15mil to make his loan permanent only for utd to ask for £25mil or somethig more stupid? That is a separate issue though, we did not get a bid for 15Million or any other sum for that matter in the summer. We did get agree a fee for a permanent move this window only for Jesse to turn it down so it is all on him at this point. I would loan him out at this stage personally but I also have no sympathy for him as his antics created this situation in the first place.
So wait.. he talked to Rangnick this morning who told him he could leave, then in the evening someone else from the club tells him he can't?
You really are an absolute circus arent' you.

In four hours? Also I have yet to see any indicaton this was his 'wish'. More like they sent him a text asking if it was alright to let him go, and he replied OK.Clubs going against managers wishes.

I don't think that this morning at 9 am Rangnick was still planning with GreenwoodSadly, his value to us has probably rocketed in the last 36 hours.
I’m not sure scoring twice against Andorra should be a factor in whether we keep/play/let him leaveNo. Before that 9 goals and 4 assists in 16 PL games in a very fluid West Ham frontline and 2 goals and 2 assists in 6 England appearances. Yes. Because that’s been my only argument in this thread.I’m not sure scoring twice against Andorra should be a factor in whether we keep/play/let him leave
According to West Ham they never made a bid at all. The usual journalists did say we valued him around 25 to 30 million and also reported that West Ham felt that 7 million was more realistic but ultimately no actual talks took place and Jesse came out fairly early on in the window to say he did not want to leave followed by the now widely reported chat between Moyes and Ole. It looks for all the world as though West Ham were well aware that Jesse had just had a purple patch and his normal form was nowhere near that level so they did not have that much interest in making it a permanent deal.
No, I just think there's a difference between Rangnick wanting him to go, vs being okay with it. The latter would suggest that the board are the ones handling this part of the business, while keeping in touch with the manager. This makes more sense than allowing RR to be in complete control and then blocking one of his wishes. So your arguing over the semantics over my wording?
Rangick said Lingard can go. Club forcing him to stay. It's pointless.
According to Moyes we flat out said he wasn't for sale so we they didn't try.
I think unless Rangnick wants to promote players from the youth to fill in at the wing forward roles, then it's probably wise to keep hold of Lingard for a few more months. Because the only viable options we have at the wing forward roles are the inexperienced Elanga, Rashford and Sancho, who hasn't set the world alight. The rest of the options like Pogba mentioned above are poor in defensive transitions and would easily be bypassed if Rangnick wants to implement the wide pressing trap.So wait.. he talked to Rangnick this morning who told him he could leave, then in the evening someone else from the club tells him he can't?
