Not sure he was a good rapper, Kano was always clear, but he certainly pushed the UK grime scene to the mainstream.
Hard to judge for me as a non native speaker but in any case Wiley is also an amazing producer
We are already using hungry youngsters in front of him. But he has still be in 4 of the last 5 match day squads so he's not completely surplus to requirements at this point. The club can easily afford to keep him, so there's no desperation to give him away for nothing, no matter how much you want to see the back of him.
You said it yourself. The club is not desperate for money, so there's no need to do anyone else a favour and give him away for nothing.

Not loaning him out is basically the same as loaning him ourselves. The idea we'd loan a player like Lingard for the cost of his wages in case he might play an odd game would be ludicrous.
But what are we saving on his wages for? Him staying or leaving does not and will not affect our future spending in any way.
As I said in my OP, if this move was blocking a new arrival then fair enough, I would also be annoyed.
Anyone else not a have problem with this? Lingard is (depressingly) our most valuable sellable asset, and if we were any other club other than 'gives away players for free' United, no one would bat an eye. They’re offering 2.5m and paying his wages. Absolutely nothing wrong with asking for a bonus if he keeps them up which earns them 120m. Granted 12.5m is crazy but I’m sure an agreement will be found. It’s called a negotiation. All parties want it to happen.

We're Man Utd. When we sell players its usually because they've failed. Its rare for us to get good prices for them.

Feel a bit sorry for Lingard b/c he deserves to go find playing time after effectively being misled by OGS. That said, completely agree with the club’s stance here. We are under no financial pressure to sell as we lose him on a free in 6 months anyway. If NUFC want him so badly then pay through the nose then. At this point I’d take him over Dele any day (who is clearly in a free fall) if I needed an AM to secure PL next season.

Just seems odd to me that a player who’s barely played for us at all this season and who may be loaned out in the next few days would take a week off right now.

We'll see. I think Newcastle are very desperate, when you consider what relegation means to their 'project'. There aren't a huge number of proven premier league attacking forwards that would either choose to go there right now or be made available by clubs with their own ambitions at this stage of the season.
Sure, Newcastle can spend 15m on a player from outside the league, but will the acclimatise in a few weeks? No club near Newcastle are going to sell players to them (Burnley aside apparently). The big six have their own demands, and lots of games coming up.
For the sake of 5m, I'm happy for us to try and show we're not the mugs this time around. Newcastle want him, they can afford him. So pony up.

Your big issue here is you are comparing a 4/5 month loan fee against a permanent acquisition. In 4 months, they still have an asset with Wood, they do not with Lingard, it's that simple

Why does something David Moyes said keep being brought up as evidence of anything? It certainly doesn't prove that Solskjaer told Lingard he would be getting loads of games this season.
Solskjaer didn't deal with transfers at United so no idea why Moyes was phoning him up. Plus what else would Solskjaer say to the potential buyer of the player he wanted to sell? Of course he would say he wanted to keep him, does it make sense to tell them you want to sell?

Jones would never have agreed to leave last summer he's sitting on another 2-3 years of his current deal getting a guaranteed salary he won't get elsewhere.
And it would have made zero sense to let Bailly leave for free last summer also. He's a decent 4th choice CB (when fit) and some club somewhere would pay some sort of fee for him.
