Of course there has. Bit difficult to praise him nowadays, but Wiley's easily one of the greatest rappers of this millenium. There's never been such a thing.

Not sure he was a good rapper, Kano was always clear, but he certainly pushed the UK grime scene to the mainstream.Of course there has. Bit difficult to praise him nowadays, but Wiley's easily one of the greatest rappers of this millenium.
Hard to judge for me as a non native speaker but in any case Wiley is also an amazing producerNot sure he was a good rapper, Kano was always clear, but he certainly pushed the UK grime scene to the mainstream.
We are already using hungry youngsters in front of him. But he has still be in 4 of the last 5 match day squads so he's not completely surplus to requirements at this point. The club can easily afford to keep him, so there's no desperation to give him away for nothing, no matter how much you want to see the back of him.Is it worth it to hold on to a non-motivated player at a high salary just to use him sparingly off the bench? It’s not, just use a hungry youngster whenever you thought about using Lingard
You said it yourself. The club is not desperate for money, so there's no need to do anyone else a favour and give him away for nothing. This makes no sense. Lingard will leave on a free in the summer. We may or may not get a loan fee, but it is a huge risk for the sake of a few million quid. We would already save some money if a club pays his full wages on a loan and that should be seen as a reasonable outcome. What the club are doing is greedy and is exactly the reason why we struggled to offload players such as Rojo and Pereira, whilst also allowing players to run down their contract. If anything, it shows the club has not really changed or learned, contrary to what you think.
Won't derail the thread further, but agreedHard to judge for me as a non native speaker but in any case Wiley is also an amazing producer

Rojo and Pereira situations were different.
But what are we saving on his wages for? Him staying or leaving does not and will not affect our future spending in any way. It's not a favour is it. If we loan him we save all his wages.
Not loaning him out is basically the same as loaning him ourselves. The idea we'd loan a player like Lingard for the cost of his wages in case he might play an odd game would be ludicrous.
Anyone else not a have problem with this? Lingard is (depressingly) our most valuable sellable asset, and if we were any other club other than 'gives away players for free' United, no one would bat an eye. Newcastle just paid 30m for Chris f*cking Wood. They proport to be the richest club in the land, and will do anything to survive relegation.
Okay cool, 15m sounds rather reasonable to me. Hell, make it 20m.
Shows the market maybe our clown show has left with the clown in chief, and we're a real football club again.

Why not? There are several United players there. The ones not on international duty were given a week off
It might be the only chance he gets if it’s straight into a relegation battleJust seems odd to me that a player who’s barely played for us at all this season and who may be loaned out in the next few days would take a week off right now.
The only clown is your post. What world does it live in to think we’d get 15m-20m on a player who’s free in 6 months. Newcastle may be rich and desperate but they’re not stupid. They will move onto a different target. Take the 5m or whatever it is on offer and move onAnyone else not a have problem with this? People can’t make up their mindsWhy are there 2 Jesse Lingard transfer threads?
We'll see. I think Newcastle are very desperate, when you consider what relegation means to their 'project'. There aren't a huge number of proven premier league attacking forwards that would either choose to go there right now or be made available by clubs with their own ambitions at this stage of the season. The only clown is your post. Why would he not? There's no one at Man Utd to train with. While in Dubai he's actually training with other players.Just seems odd to me that a player who’s barely played for us at all this season and who may be loaned out in the next few days would take a week off right now.
Isn't the asset Premier League status?Your big issue here is you are comparing a 4/5 month loan fee against a permanent acquisition. In 4 months, they still have an asset with Wood, they do not with Lingard, it's that simple

"Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] made it clear to me quite early in the transfer window that he wanted to keep him.
"So I knew pretty early in the transfer window that he was staying at Manchester United. I had a private conversation with Ole who made it clear that he was staying."
It was ole decision not to sell him.
They go and get Ali on loan instead, whilst we continue to pay for a now very unhappy player to sit on our bench. I hope there’s a compromise because that suits nobodyWe'll see. Sure, Newcastle can spend 15m on a player from outside the league, but will the acclimatise in a few weeks? No club near Newcastle are going to sell players to them (Burnley aside apparently). The big six have their own demands, and lots of games coming up.
For the sake of 5m, I'm happy for us to try and show we're not the mugs this time around. Newcastle want him, they can afford him. So pony up.
Made zero sense for us to not let VDB go too and also not to let Jones and Bailly leave for free. But it happened…..

£50m?!
Now I can see how we ended up getting taken to the cleaners for Fred and Wan-Bissaka.
Can somebody just feck this idiot out of the club asap.
