Would be incredibly disappointed if he stays. Selling him + James(30m + 10-15m) would give us good funds to sign a proper midfielder.
At one point I thought 10m would be a great business. What are we asking? 25! I don't think anyone would pay that much for Lingard.
His brand is probably better off at WHUNo one will buy JLINGZ clothes if he leave United.
Agree. Lot of potential to sell those in East London. His brand is probably better off at WHU

i would think after his loan spell he would be able to fetch pretty much similar to james. Id say the lesser output of james should be equaled by the offset of lingard on higher wages. Be silly for united to keep him though, at best he would be 3rd choice for any position, and that doesnt even include just changing formations to get a better player in regardlessAt one point I thought 10m would be a great business. WhoopsNot a very optimistic outlook.
All reports suggest we've been getting enquiries but Lingard isn't keen on going.Surprised teams like Leicester hasn’t had a look at him besides West Ham. Even Norwich could do with him though i doubt he wants to move there
Thought he wants to move to WH but Ole is blocking the path? All reports suggest we've been getting enquiries but Lingard isn't keen on going.
That's disappointing if true. He needs to resurrect his career and waiting for top team is complete waste of time. If he was good enough for a top team, he wouldn't need to moveAll reports suggest we've been getting enquiries but Lingard isn't keen on going.
In his defense, he is very versatile and that helps him claw together a career.Whoever is obstructing this move, whether it's Ole or Lingard himself, it feels like a really silly decision. He revived a lacklustre career in his loan spell there and it seemed like the perfect solution for everyone that we could get a decent fee for a player we were barely using and Lingard could go back to getting regular starts, contributing something of note and having his name mentioned in England conversations again. Think it's delusional if anyone thinks he's going to do the kind of job for us that he did at West Ham, it's a just a different level/style of play.
Hoping for a James style deal that would be a happy outcome for everyone, and think we can afford to offload him with all the other attacking options we have available now.

A smaller club is th better word.He doesn't care about playing football for us, he's just happy to be apart of this club.
He would rather sit on the bench or in the stands for us then play regular football for another club.
No club wants him because he has no resale value. Simple as that.
We are in a tricky situation in terms of what we demand for Jesse. When players like Harry Wilson and Jack Harrison move for around the £12m mark, Adam Armstrong for £15m and Joe Willock for £26m. I don't think it is unrealistic to put a price tag of £25m on Jesse Lingard, in a hope a bidding club begin negotiations with offers in the £15-20m mark.
Jesse really shouldn't be getting any minutes this season.
This last year of contract thing is nonsense. If he stays we offer him a new one and he accepts it. This isn’t like mbappe - he hasn’t refused to sign a new deal so it’s irrelevant. He’s 28, a current England international and was arguably the best player in the PL the last 6 months of the season at West Ham. They need to pay up. 25m is more than reasonable in a market where ramsdale is going for 20m!None of those players are in the last year of their contract though, or as old, or on as bigger contract, or so not needed by their club as Jesse is.
Ultimately we held zero cards.
Yep, and that could probably end up lesser than what he is currently earning at United. I am starting to get the feeling that everyone, from Jesse to the club and the fans are overestimating his worth.a big pay day next year when he is out of contract
Contrary to popular belief, they're nowhere near the same age.If Dan James is 30 million then Jesse is closer to 50. No wonder we can’t shift him.

He’s 28 isn’t he? Very good age. And seeing what he did at West Ham, it would be great buy for anyone outside top 6.Contrary to popular belief, they're nowhere near the same age.

Though, he is in his last year, isn't he?
What you mean his game can be fixed? He’s not suddenly going to get better in tight spaces. And don’t make me laugh about the coaching. Jesus.. We’re fecking Man United, I’m pretty sure our coaching is top class. Unless you and whoever else it is on the caf whom thinks all our achievements are down to individual quality?Only one is a young player on the up on a long term and very affordable contract so we hold all the cards. It is not just posters on the Caf who feel our coaching is not the best and we don't develop players, a lot of people out there will be convinced that with a different coach the weaknesses in Dan's game can be fixed and if you can do that added to his natural speed and work rate then you will have a really good PL player and in hindsight 30M could look like amazing business. I am sure coaches back themselves just like players do and will believe they are the ones who can spin straw into gold.
Jesse is closing in on 29, highly paid and available on a free in 6 months. He is also not going to get any better than he is now and so realistically has a lower transfer value and we would be doing well to get 20 million I think. it all seems to be moot anyway as Jesse has vowed to "fight for his place" despite anyone with half a brain being able to tell that his place is going to be unused sub playing practical jokes in the dressing room and waving goodbye to his World Cup prospects when he could have played for a top half PL club every week and competed in the Europa and cemented a spot in the England squad.

I don't think him having a year left should stop us asking for a fee that can be negotiated down. If United say their price is £15-18m offers are going to come in much lower. But I agree that Jesse's wages are an issue. However Chelsea sold Zappacosta who is a similar age, with a year left on his deal and they got £8m. Will Hughes (Yes he is a couple of years younger) with a year left on his deal has gone to Palace for £6m up to £10m in add ons.
I don't think it is unrealistic to get £15-20m for Jesse.
