Totally agree with this. He may not be 1st XI standard for a top 3 team, but there should be ample space for him in our squad, and he should be used as a squad player getting 25-30 games. However, something has gone wrong between him and OGS last season, so it's best he leaves.

I hope he gets a move to Spurs: they are an exciting project again with their new signings and Mourinho will have exacting plans on how to use him; most likely as the pivot around which Son, Kane and Bale will play. If Bale and Lingard can get close top their top form, that will be devastating on the counter attack, and will play to Lingard's strengths. If that all works, Spurs will seriously threaten United place in top 4.

Meanwhile, unless, Woodward can produce Sancho, United can look forward to Pereira and Mata.

There are some sentimentalists on here and in the world in general.

Its best to respect their opinion and agree to disagree.

Ask any fan from the rest of the teams in the premier league. They will give you an honest opinion about Lingard. That he is not good enough for Manchester United. Ask the same question to some United fans, he is this and that, attacking midfielder and all that.

And when you actually watch him and check his stats, nothing adds up. Best to ignore them and judge Lingard based on what you see rather than what they tell you they see.

I can see it. He's a team player, he works hard, he was solid under Mourinho and bought into his plans. I still think Lingard could be a very good squad player for a big club, but he needs a change of scenery which will help him to mature (for lack of a better word) a bit. Lingard was actually decent-to-good for most of his time under Mourinho, so maybe he thinks he can get him back to that form. It was really only last season under Ole that he fell away so drastically.

It's unlikely and I doubt it'll actually happen, but perhaps not as laughable as I first thought.

Lingard on a good day is miles better than 75% of the rest we've released over the past few years (which probably shows shite our transfer activity has been but still). I wish him well but i would hate to see him strengthen a potential direct rival - if only in depth. Just like Zaha - he ll likely show up every time they play us and get punished.
