Another game Lingard starts and another game we regret it, no idea how he keeps getting into the team.
how many sample time periods did you take that from? presume just the 1
What about us over the years suggests consistent logical planning? Ole has done well with AWB & Maguire but it's 2 steps forward, 1 step back when we lose Herrera on a free with no replacement.I just don't really understand how we're in this position again.
Lingard's fine, really, but you know what you get with him and you know what you don't get. What you don't get is the output to suggest he should be a first choice attacking player at United. We knew that. Going into the season, then, why did we settle on 4-2-3-1 if we aren't able to get anybody else in?
Literally. From reddit :Pointless.
Thing is, we've had 10s in the past like Rooney who did as much defensively as him but had actual quality, too. In fact, Rooney and Tevez used to kind of rotate who'd stay up and who'd drop deep to offer support which was one of the reasons I loved that partnership. Even Yorke would play as a sort of 10, helping out defensively, contributing to the build-up, etc, but was a quality footballer alongside his good work rate.Think we might have invented the defensive Number 10.

I don't know how, after all his years of .mediocrity/rubbish, he's our starting #10 in 2019.
We should bench Lingard by playing 433. We don't have a top No.10.
I would like to see Gomes in a midfield of 3.
I don't think Ole is playing Lingard thinking "yeah he's going to get me a goal or an assist". I think he's played for his work rate, his pressing and general link up play. Sure he's got a goal in him but it's clear he's being played for other reasons which Ole rates higher, and Jose before him and LVG before him.
Oh I know Nani did at least have a couple of solid seasons with us before going off the boil.
I’m not so much comparing their playing style, it’s the frustration that I’m reminded off.
The fluffed chances.
Passes that should be shots.
Shots that should be passes.
The complete mis-control of basic passes.
Failing to beat the full back and get in a decent cross.
Shouldn't be starting games, but that's probably a measure of the strength of our squad at the moment.
Frustrating again tonight.

I really wonder what the standards of our club is if this you actually mean this? I hope you being sarcastic.
One is retired in Portugal another one is pundit on TV because no big club were after him.
Bang average player who will score odd goal.
Think we might have invented the defensive Number 10.
That is the truth unfortunately. I don't understand why our coaches are fine with attacking player who is total shit but they rate him. And that is the reason why he will play next game and game after that and game after that.I don't think Ole is playing Lingard thinking "yeah he's going to get me a goal or an assist". Maddison will take his place.
Gomes*
Although Maddison would be a good addition.
