This has to be rock bottom for him, being terrible enough to be bantered by a Southern league division one central club

I don’t find this funny at all. Just last week we have had a campaign during the FA Cup which is concerning mental health in football. A couple of weeks before this Lingard came out and said how he’s been struggling mentally due to things going on in his personal life.
Yes, he’s been very poor recently on the playing field but the amount of abuse and bullying he has received on social media recently is nothing short of disgraceful.
White text? The amount of abuse and bullying us fans receive on social media as a result of his continued shite isn’t nice either.
Although I agree with your general point, maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how that tweet is anything serious. A cheap shot indeed but nothing like the abuse he'd directly receiveI don’t find this funny at all. He's clearly lacking confidence and as a result he's nowhere near his best.
Let's be honest though, even at his absolute best, the days of the "Messi Lingod" memes, even then he was about midtable standard.
I hope he gets a move abroad and rediscovers his form, because I do feel for the guy and as long as he stays in England he's always going to be a banter player. Somewhere like Marseille/Monaco could be a good move for him. He'd have to drop his wages though.
Is a sorry state of affairs when you think that Manchester United's starting #10 wouldn't start for AZ fecking AlkmaarYeah, good point. There are still people who want Lingard to get back to his best and be a good player for Manchester United. I just dont think it is possible. He scored some good important goals but was he ever a really good player? He was okay-ish during the Messi Lingod period but usually the player at his position is one of the better players in the team. Lingard should never be one of the better players in a team if you want to win the Premier League or another big trophy.
Im not sure where he should go to. I assume clubs like Monaco or Marseille have better players. For example if he went to our shitty Eredivisie he wont start for Ajax, PSV and AZ i think. Another thing is that if he went to Spain he wouldnt be praised for 'running' and pressing because their culture is more about technical football and that isnt really Lingard's best attribute.
Exactly. It's going way to far. He's always done his best and worked hard. He deserves more respect.I don’t find this funny at all. You think he doesn't want to play better? He has always been among the hardest working and running in the squad, he is a Man Utd fan too. He is just not very good. Had a few decent spells but his usual self is poor for this level. I can't hold someones lack of talent against them, he tries, but trying is not enough for this level.0 goals & 0 assists is his best?
He isn’t being bulllied at all. No one would want that, but this is a guy who putS himself all over social media boasting, giving it large, shagging pillows. He cant really complain when he eventually gets called out for his work on the same platform.
I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him. Don't get me wrong, he's fecking shit and seems to be getting worse, and his daft snapchat videos haven't helped him, but it must be fecking horrible being bantered by pretty much everyone. Is there a bigger laughing stock in world football right now than him? Mate of mine is a Burnley fan and he said in our whatsapp group last night that Lingard wouldn't start for them. The fact that a player is starting for United who probably couldn't get a game for Burnley is really damning.
Has he actually signed on with Raiola? I just see unreliable sources like mail, metro etc going with it.
He surely can't be that brain dead to sign up with an agent who is openly spewing shit about United out in the open, even dragging SAF into it, and surely Ole or United will have the sense not to play him after such a move...

Aftee the 0.0012% post, he lost any ounce of possible sympathy. You want to boast about being an EPL footballer as if that automatically excuses you of any and all criticism, then you're only rubbing people up the wrong way and are going to be slaughtered.
How come no one worries about Pogba's feelings when the whole nation is constantly on his back relentlessly?

Ole: My Lingard shall always play
OleJose: My Lukaku shall always play.
LVG: My Rooney shall always play.
... Why does this keep happening to our club? What have we done to deserve it??

Cant say i feel sorry for him that people make fun of his footballing performances... he lost any sympathy i had when he posted and was bragging about that 0.001%.
First reliable source to report it. Looks like it's true. He's stupid.

Hiding from the ball isn’t trying in my opinion. I don’t know why people equate running around = trying hard. His just looking busy. He isn’t even running around that much either, nothing like Tevez & Rooney use too. Someone like Carrick for example who didn’t “run around” much would you say he wasn’t trying his best when he was playing?
The article wouldn't know shit for shoe polish regarding the internal runnings at United. It is merely a reporter putting Raiola's comments last week against Lingard signing with him....The article says the partnership has sparked concerns about the player’s long term future at the club, shouldn’t the fact he’s not very good be what sparks concerns?
It's the Wellbeck / Cleverly story again. Academy player who runs around a lot and keeps getting picked for some mysterious 'skillset' which is never actually displayed on the pitch. Such players always remain 'young' and the breakthrough performance is always just around the corner. When it becomes impossible to dust the shiteness under the carpet the narrative is changed to how at a different club under a different manager this player will blossom.
