It is a big myth that he is fast. Eriksen outpaced him and now this . 40 year old man who had 85 minutes of game outpaced him while he was fresh. This is embarrassing stuff. If he didn't run at full speed even worse. Shows lack of desire. Either way- embarrassing.That's a funny clip but is he actually slow generally? I've never really thought of him as a slow player.

Lingard gets outpaced several times a season when he shouldn't because he has a low top speed. Lingard has decent positioning and is quick of the mark due to his build, that's why he tends to get the run on defenders, but gets dispossessed anyway.
It's depressing to think with Mkhitaryan a write off this season we're going to have to give more game time to Lingard who is just a thoroughly mediocre player.

big , tall = slow
it doesn't have to be that way , pogba and lukaku is certainly fast, even carrick has good top speed remember he outpacing aguero

LVG should be taken to court for the money he spent. It’s absolutely criminal the players he sold and the players we bought under him. Even Moyes two buys have not been that bad value.
Apart from secret handshakes with his mates I've got no idea what he contributes. The lad is barely a prem level player yet he's a good squad player here? Madness.
That's the thing, he isn't. It's just the argument people come up with to justify a hard working local lad getting in to the team. Then they'll argue that we can't have a squad full of world class players, as if there's no middle ground between Jesse Lingard and world class.

he is average to bad in all those things, he got good shooting technique , bit of luck and fancy handshake i give him that, he was good during his championship day because that's his level

Some people will be very disappointed when Lingard finally leaves this club and ends up slipping down the PL bottom clubs. He would be happy enough if he has a Cleverley like post United career.
It might be very true, but in meantime he is here to stay so, it would be good if we hope for best than this negative future prediction.
It's possible to hope for a positive outcome while expecting a negative one. Everytime i see Lingard in the starting line-up i hope he plays well and scores or assists, but i never expect him to do much based on watching him for a few years in the first team now.
With all respect, I find some posters repeating their negative posts here.
We know he is not good enough but he is here to stay and he is squad player now.

Some posters do seem to revel in having a go at him and generally just post the same things over and over. Won't say who I think this is but it's pretty obvious from reading the thread even occasionally. I suppose it's just as valid as if someone posted the same praise of him over and over. It's more the reveling in it that I find a bit weird, Lingard isn't the only player who gets it though.
The "he serves literally no purpose" gang need to have a bit of perspective though considering how he has contributed directly to most of our recent trophies iirc. Whether or not he is good enough for United but even despite his limitations he has definitely served a purpose and I would hope that people celebrate this contribution rather than seek to downplay it in order to add criticism to his poor performances in other games.
Yes you will find that in every player thread, you will also find the same people repeating the same positive posts over and over again. It's the nature of the threads.
Go over all the threads of players who are most criticized like Lingard, Darmian, Fellaini etc., and you will also see many posts every other page asking for players to be given a break, negative posts achieve nothing etc etc.
So basically these threads continually go around in circles, there's no point trying to change them.
Yes I had seen pattern and I also said it in other thread also, but in Lingard, Fellaini and Darmian thread they criticize way beyond they deserve.
Only difference are these players are squad players not starter.
I have no problem when someone say he had bad day, or give some bashing after bad performance, I also understand that is what this thread for.

Yes some go overboard in their criticism no doubt just as some go overboard with their praise, both groups force more and more extreme opinions as time goes on. Just look at the Fellaini thread where he's either a pub player or world class and/or one of our most important players, neither is actually the case.
As for them not being starters, right now they are not and really none of them ever should be. But i suspect by the end of the season just like last season 1-2 or all three will be regulars again when Mourinho gets even more conservative towards the end of the season.
No idea there shouldn't really be anything in here during a international break, but people will have discussions in these threads just as we are having now. And i don't see why they have to necessarily be positive.

Only thing we can say now is, JM is using them when its necessary, we already see Lingard is not playing that much amount of game time.

His movement and work rate going both ways is good, it's really just the end product with Lingard.
Bit harsh, he looked very bright when he came on.
End product is the most important thing for an attacking players though. We can't put a forward on the pitch because he moves well but will miss any sitter he'll get during the game.

Robert Snodgrass is also a Championship-player, he has more weapons in his bag relative to Lingard. First of all he manages to kick a football towards the goal or to a team-mate.
I find it rather incredible, Lingard is playing for Manchester United (!) and very few people understand why. It’s like everyone don’t see any grounds for development either, he is totally the same as two years ago. The biggest issue is that he’s soon 25 years old - he isn’t some talent anymore, he basically never was.
