He was sloppy for a few minutes when he came on and put that shot over the bar so that's enough for some to make their mind up.

He settled in and impacted the game positively in the end. Perfectly decent showing.

Came on and did more than Rashford so overall a good appearance

Good performance and great sub by Mourinho. Changed the match.

Lively, frustrating early on but was involved in everything and in the end had a good impact on our game.

His movement was class. Absolutely lit a fire under our attack. Would like to see him get a game ahead of Mkhitaryan.

he gave us something we really needed in the latter stages of a generally frustrating match, good cameo

Obviously everyone has a different opinion but I just cannot see how you would replace a guy who has pretty much had rather a goal or assist every game this season with a guy who scored 1 league last season. It's been proven that when we start with Lingard we lack options and are poor. Lingard is much better coming off the bench where he can inject some pace and movement, and that coming from someone who doesn't particularly rate him.

Did well when he came on. His biggest strength is his movement, and I think it helped change the game that he was less predictable than Rashford.

We must watch a different game. I thought he was garbage to average at best, and this little cameo just proved it further.

He did well, happy for him, changed the game for us and used his energy positively today.

Our attack is creating so much space behind the back 4 that any decent #10 should have a bagful. I reckon someone else can be far more consistent even if ending up with lesser end product than Mkhitaryan has now.

I think he was what we needed, stop Everton getting joy on their right. Add some pace for the counter, had a chance but spurned it but otherwise he did very well.

Don't get me wrong here, Mkhitaryan's inconsistencies I have a problem with also but at the same time it's hard to ignore that he does always deliver in one aspect or another. Lingard doesn't have the attributes of a starter here, against tired defences though I think he could be useful at times. Still think he was poor today mind, even though he finished the game pretty well the last 5-10 minutes.

Jose should protect the dude and not play him ahead of martial/rashford, no one has complained when he's been obvious 3rd choice last few games but playing ahead of martial will infuriate fans (including me)

Did decent but it was obvious he didn't have the magic to unlock the game regardless of that assist

Like having a first division full back on the wing with Lingard.

His movement and energy changed the game, not the most technical player but he really has the ability to find some space, he did more in 10 minutes than Rashford did in 70

He had an effect on the game and stretched their right side, which was non existent in the 2nd half. Should have won a penalty too. Far from my favourite attacking player, but he did alright.

I'm not sure by what standard that was a good performance. He was probably brought on for his discipline over Martial since we were leading, but going forward he was appalling. Can't beat a defender to save his life, he got an assist while he probably tried to shoot but can't fault the effort with him. At least he gives his all, Rashford looked disinterested today.

Typical Lingard performance. Pops up here and there, creates chaos and keeps the defenders busy, but ultimately missing goals and the real danger and quality. Not a bad player, but he lacks the quality and output to be a starter here and kick on.

We were static in the second half and made no runs, which kept them compact. He changed that and his movement created more space, upped the tempo and woke our attack up. It's not always about beating players with the ball, although that would be a welcome sight.

He beat two before getting fouled and should have been awarded a penalty. He also beat his man a few other times on the left.

Think he has regressed a bit from last season, maybe its just rustiness from lack of playing time. If we're cutting Herrera some slack then we can afford to give him some as well.

And you thought the Mata thread was erratic @sullydnl :D

He did ok, lacks quality but puts himself about and Mourinho mainly brought him on to help Young as Rashford was not getting back to help his fullback out, something Martial was unlikely to improve.

certainly had more influence and made a better impact that Rashford after he came on. Good option to have from the bench and did his job well today.

Alright, I only saw the run for the penalty (that should've been).

In general though, he doesn't wait on the wing to get the ball, face his man and try to get past him, like Martial and (to an extent) Rashford. He's looking for gaps in the line or creates them with lateral or forward runs. That could be just as useful, depending on the situation, is what I was trying to say.

Thought he did ok today (like most of our players). The so called clear shot on goal that he skied would've almost certainly have been blocked if he managed to keep it low and it wasn't a sitter by any means. He was quite a nuisance for them to defend against and managed a few decent incursions into the box. No better or worse than at least half the rest of the squad, on what was a pretty languid overall performance.

Think he should have had a penalty. Did well when he came on. Think he will start against Burton.

He was decent, put pressure on their defense and worked hard.

In the end he affected the game in a positive way and that is important for a sub.

Yes i watched the game, why is that in question? Because i didn't see the game in your particular perception?

Yes i agree with some of your points, he improved the wing play a bit because he injected movement and urgency. I don't share the sentiment that it was enough to be classified as a good performance. He tried to beat Keane 3 times, twice failing pathetically, had a very bad attempt on goal, the ''penalty'' incident was non existing in my opinion. As i said he probably was brought for his discipline, but if that was a good performance from a Manchester United attacker than maybe i have different expectations.
