Voted yes but kind of conditional, only if Ibra and Rooney go and assuming we sign a top striker as well.

He'd be a decent 3rd/4th striker option for a season. Probably very cheap wages as well.
 
I can't believe people think this is even remotely a good idea. How far have we fallen that Defoe, even as a back up option, is seen as a suitable option for us??
 
He'd be grand as a sub striker when we are stuck. I'm not sure if Jose would ever play to his strengths though.

He's on somewhere between 60-75 grand a week at Sunderland and would probably be looking for a decent increase since there wouldn't be a transfer fee. I think if he was to join us it'd be for close to 100 grand a week and I can think of a million better things to do with that kind of money.
 
I voted a soft "no", the main reason I can think that makes it a bad idea is that I'd rather test a youth striker than have a tried and tested "on their way out" striker, even on a free. The only way I'd approve of it is in the case that the striker was of a level they would be first team worthy or if we had literally no even remote potential up and comers in our u-21's
