It always makes me chuckle when everyone on MUTV never uses the name Hernandez and instead uses his shirt name 'Chicharito' without exception yet the graphics and onscreen graphics they use always say 'Hernandez'.

..okay it doesn't make me chuckle at all but I was groping for an appropriate beginning to that sentence.

I always say Hernandez too, but only because I hate it when people pronounce Chicharito wrongly and my logic is if I don't use it, no one else will.

Jonathan Pearce annoys me, with his idea that Chicharito is actually his first name.

But his name aside, his movement off the ball is the most under-rated of his attributes but for me the most important.

What’s your assessment of Javier Hernandez’s first season as a Red?
He’s just taken it all in his stride. He’s a lovely lad, who’s always smiling around the dressing room, and on the pitch he’s been brilliant. You can see he’s got a natural eye for goal, but what’s surprised a lot of us is how good he is in the air. He spends ages practising after training. - Wayne Rooney

That's the sort of player we want here, the sort who stays after practice again and again. The knock on effect will others following suit could be fantastic for us.

I still find it incredible that in the space of 5 games he scored against Holland, France, Argentina and Spain. The kid is a superstar in the making.

By far, THE MOST EFFICIENT STRIKER IN THE WORLD. He just needs one shot to gauge the second which will be a goal.

He has a great record so far for Mexico and also us, the lad is just awesome.

I'm so glad we snapped him up when we did, otherwise god knows what we'd have had to pay for him.

100 MILLION DOLLARS!

Poachers goals as per usual, he has such a natural eye for goal scoring opportunities its unreal.

His movement even in that short video is incredible...and the acceleration for the third goal is wow

I could see the Mexico score on my iPhone, but not the goalscorers. I just knew he'd have scored at least one though; phenomenal record this season.

Since August, what's his record for club and country? I know he has 16 goals for us, but hasn't he got at least 5 international goals too?

Mexico 3 - 1 Paraguay (Chicharito '7, Guardado '29, Chicharito '35 ; Riveros '87)

Chicharito now has 14 goals in 22 games for Mexico surpassing the record set by Mexico’s all time top scorer Jared Borgetti who only hit 11 in his first 25.

Goals:

His movement is just unbelievable. He knows where the goal is, knows when to make his runs, where to make his runs, and his finishing technique is just sublime.

His positioning is even better than his finishing! I love this kid. I love strikers who use their head.

If he scored two last night, then surely he had already surpassed Borgetti's record with 12 in 21 if last night's two goals made it 14 in 22?

That header for the first goal was superb.

The lad is special, already probably the most clinical striker in the PL. I still can't believe we only paid £6m for him. He'll be one of the worlds best in a few years, no doubt.

Quote-
Jorge Vergara was asked about Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez when he visited the press box at halftime of last week's Chivas USA opener, and the man who sold Mexico's reigning soccer god to Manchester United couldn't contain his excitement.

“I'm very pleased to be part of his success,” said Vergara, whose holdings include Club Deportivo Guadalajara and a good piece of Chivas USA, Guadalajara's little brother. “We decided to sell him instead of locking him up, and we made a statement when we sold him to Manchester United: He was going to be the best player in the world, and I think he's going to be, too.

“And I think even [Manchester United manager Alex] Ferguson didn't believe me, but the capabilities of the player -- now he believes what I told him.”

It was suggested to Vergara last week that perhaps he had sold “Chicharito” too cheaply.

“No,” he answered somewhat sternly. “We made thousands of percent of profit -- thousands. I think we did a big business, and I'm a true believe that somebody's going to make the last buck always, so thjat's good for them.”

Very interesting that despite believing he would become the best player in the world and selling him for only $10 million Guadalajara's owner appears to have no regrets...or is a good liar. Think we owe them another friendly this summer. Absolute steal.

Where do people see areas he could possibly improve to become the worlds best?

Very good striker and will probably break some sort of goalscoring records, but i don't think at any point in his career he will be the best player in the world to be honest

Don't get carried away. He's a perfect 'poacher' if you can call him that, his finishing, positioning and heading abilities are all superb, but I can't see him ever being in the same league as a striker like Rooney or Villa.
