I'd rather sign one of the promising German or Italian keepers.
 
Won the Photoshop competition at the WC. Is that enough to warrant a £25m price tag? I think not.
 
Christ, I hope we're not really in for him.
 
Even if we were interested, the price is clearly plugged from the writer backside, continental clubs don't sell goalkeepers at that price, unless the goalkeeper is named Neuer or Buffon.
 
It's in the Dutch press too. Ian Ladyman wrote about it yesterday in the Mail, said Cillessen was an option if we fail to get Cech or Lloris
 
25m Pound for a Dutch goalkeeper? We've just bought Memphis (including addons) for the record fee, seriously doubt Cillessen would cost more than that.

He's 26 but has only played 3 full seasons of football. A very relaxed goalkeeper, he doesn't know what pressure is. Terrible at penalties and not a overly great sweeper, I don't think van Gaal will be interested. The only reason he was first choice for van Gaal was because his #1 Vermeer hadn't played a match in months because he was benched for Cillessen at Ajax.
 
Don't think we'd be paying that much for him if we were after him. It would make him the second most expensive keeper (in £ sterling) ever.

Random Dutch guy saying there will be an article in the Telegraaf tomorrow, guess you could call that reliable. No idea if the article is, will have to wait. It says we're interested in Cillessen, but I have my doubts about that. He's a good goalkeeper, but we can do better.
 
Bollocks to 25m. Haven't seen enough of him, but would only be comfortable with this link if he was coming as backup, and not for 25 fecking million.

Looked totally shellshocked during the WC vs Argentina when they decided to keep him on for penalties, hardly moved in fact.

Hopefully not in for Krul either.
 
As I said on Monday in the de Gea replacement thread, "the wind is whispering .... Cillesen."
 
Even if we're interested it doesn't mean he's our first choice target. I'd imagine players like Cech and Lloris are ahead of him in the short list.

I'd trust Frank Hoek's judgement regardless of which keeper we sign, even though signing Cillesen would be underwhelming.
 
I guess we needed this year's Vermaelen.
 
Absolute rubbish in the world cup, Van Gaal didnt even trust him in a penalty shoot out and when he did eventually do so... failed miserably. i think his record of saving penalties is still at Zero.

I'd be more interested in seeing those pics then signing this keeper.
 
He's not good enough for United, I hope we show more ambition and go for a first rate GK, there's plenty out there.
