Personally don't think he should be sacked over this. A moment of utter madness where he completely lost his head. The particular act was a vile one, and is the reason why it's causing such a hullabaloo, but i'm not sure whether he should lose his job over it.
The public opprobrium that has followed is justified imo, and he should feel (and i'm sure he does) utterly embarrassed. I think he's shown genuine contrition and has personally apologised to the family and he obviously realises that he was completely in the wrong, regardless of what the other guy did. He should probably be suspended for some time, wait for this all to die down, then return to sky.
There's probably a temptation from Sky to move swiftly here and sack him, but hopefully they don't act too hastily and give it some time. As i said, i don't think he should lose his job over it. A period of time out of the limelight, and any other punishment they may inflict on him that doesn't involve a sacking, would suffice imo.
