Thats fine, but that falls on ill advised and should be an incidental footnote to the story.
Jamie even trumps that by spitting on a kid. Do you realise what would happen if the dad reacted like every other human being would have?
Honestly, this thread is the equivalent of slowing down multiple replays to show theres contact on a player who blatantly dived.

Why are people critiqing the dads driving in a thread about Carragher spitting at someone? :wenger:

I'm pretty sure Carragher didn't spit in outrage at the guys driving

No, of course not. People are simply pointing out the rather obvious fact that these people are both complete idiots, that neither of their actions are in anyway excused by the others, and that both parties should be punished.

I feel sorry for the daughter - a dickhead for a father and some other complete moron's spit all over her face. What a sad state of affairs.

I do think the guy filming it was a bit of a douche (driving and filming himself openly not paying attention to the road to wind someone up) but that's no excuse. He's always been too one sided when it comes to United or Liverpool to be watchable for me anyway, so would be happy to see less of him and totally deserves to be sacked.

I reckon they will give Charrager a minute to apologise on air, say its out of character and all that.

Then he resumes normal business and that will be that.

Not to take this off topic but what happened with Rodney Marsh? I haven't heard of that one.

He made a joke about newcastlr fans (toon army) going to where that tsunami happened that killed loads of people in... 2005 / 2006.

The Dad was a bit of an eejit but no excuse for what Carragher did. He rightly apologised. I hope the girl accepts his apology. Maybe Carragher should give her a couple of match tickets to try and make up for what he did and apologise again in person. Then We can all move on!

It's quite sad to the length people will extend themselves in order to prove that they are the perfect human being. Hypocrites.

Are you really prepared to label the father a "dickhead" based on 30 seconds of video footage. You know what they say about assumptions don't you?

I like Carragher as a pundit - insightful, (mostly) fair and balanced, and probably the wittiest of the lot, he's come up with some killer one liners. But I will be very surprised if Sky don't sack him for this, it's pretty damning what he's done. Would be a loss for them but plenty more ex-pros to take his place.

Using his phone whilst driving on a high speed road to goad a celebrity? Yeah the guys a dickhead. I hope he's prosecuted by the police.

What an utter dispicable act. Shame on you Jamie Carragher. I can only hope that Sky do the decent thing.

They sacked Keys & Gray for less.

He's actually fairly balanced as far as Sky standards go. Definitely deserves to be sacked but will be missed, unlike someone like Souness who offers nothing but bitter diatribes.

Now the whole bloody world knows about it as well thanks to the dad. Poor kid.

I'm perfectly comfortable labelling anyone who drives along the motorway whilst filming with their mobile phone and shouting out of the window at other motorists, a dickhead, yes. Six points, a £200 fine and a 'dad of the year' award for him.

None of that in anyway excuses Carragher, who in most other circumstances would probably have been laid out. As it is, he should really be fired.

They sacked Keys & Gray for less.

I think Sky were looking for a way to get rid of Keys & Gray, they'd become too big for their boots and were becoming a toxic influence around other staff, hence why the various footage of their sexist behaviour was conveniently "leaked" in quick succession. I may be wrong on that one but that's the impression I got from the whole thing.

They've groomed Carragher and Neville as their main men these past couple of seasons so I think they won't want to lose Carragher but hard to see how he can stay.

He gets paid about a million quid to sit and watch football matches for free and give his opinion.

He shouldn't be spitting at anyone, the fecking idiot.

..and they chose to keep Kirsty Gallagher and Paul Merson after drink-drive convictions. I think it largely depends on how much Sky value the individual. My money is on Carragher staying after an exclusive and 'emotional' apology.

Carragher isn't driving with proper care either is he?

Given that he's busy targetting a big mouthful of spit at an unsuspecting schoolgirl who he now claims not to have seen - she was 'leaning back' - (source is Mail for that)

Goaded 3 or 4 times my ass. He waves first, then the guy says it a couple of times once he'd put his window down. Could've easily just said 'feck off' and put his window up. Doubt the guy would've carried on.
goaded by a six-year-old girl? wow life is tough isn't it?

I would completely agree. Sure the footage of Keys & Gray ('Did you smash it?') was a couple of years old when it was released. . .Makes it hard though for Sky to justify keeping Carragher.

I don't see how Carragher can stay . . . Ih he'd rolled down the window and just said "f**K OFF" then people would accept the apology and move on . . . But spitting . . . at a 14 year old girl. . .

They guy might be a great pundit but he's a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic.

Not sure why so many people are concentrating on the anonymous drone banter/abuse guy filming it. Yes, they shouldn't have been doing it, and are probably a bit of a douche, but they're a nobody. There's loads of people like that, and in their own right they are not newsworthy.

Carragher is the high profile public figure, and it beggars belief that he's reacted like that.

He'll do very well to come out of this without the sack. But we all know how things work in football and tv, if they rate someone good enough, they will be above "Normal" punishment.

The distinction between these two would appear to be that Keys and Gray were in trouble for things they did at work whereas Gallagher/Merson got in trouble in their own time.

Not only dickhead, an actual criminal. And these aren't assumptions, as he was kind enough to provide us with video footage. Playing with your mobile while driving is as bas as drink driving, if not worse.

It's not about the guy who was driving the car as he's not one of the main presenters on Sky Sports.

I'm sure they were?! You're saying that the Keys/ Gray "did you smash it" etc... off air conversation is worse than spitting at a 14 year old girl? All because the bloke shouted "2-1 Jamie lad"?!

They showed an incredible attitude to women, when the national climate has never been more anti-discrimination.

Sexist behaviour probably ranks higher on the scale then a one off flob incident

The chances that the guy was just shouting 2-1, is about as likely as Matthew Simmonds'# claim that he was shouting "it's an early bath for you Mr Cantona"

2018: Provoke someone until they lose their temper. Sell story to the papers. Feel victimised and demand they get the sack.

And? People on here are defending this guy as if it were a completely normal thing to do. Nobody is defending Carragher.

Because what he did was indefensible. He's even admitted it himself. . . "No excuses".

Can someone do a Gif of Jamie Carragher Spitting and Gerrard slipping on it or it landing in Ashley Young's mouth.. @Olly
