I've started to like Carra too, top pundit - hope he gets suspended and docked wages maximum. Hope he's not sacked.

Poor girl being spat at but poor girl having an irresponsible father for videoing other drivers while driving himself.

2 idiots.

I'll let you spit in my face for 100. 1000 if you're rich.
Fair. I was thinking similar and thought it sounds shamefully low. But it's free money for a bit of a face wash, isn't it.

WTF I expected some metaphor or satire article after reading the title.

Pretty funny that it occured right after the whole forum praised Carragher for 'talking sense' and shitetalked Neville.

Also, this is why I fecking hate the internet:
Hah, indeed. I love the implication that it’s Carragher’s fault some shite Dad decided to sell his story and footage to the Mirror even though his daughter might potentially be humiliated.

Both the driver and Carragher are at fault.

Police should take action against the driver for driving and using a mobile and harrassing others - Carra is at fault (and should know better!) for the spitting from his car in motion.

What makes me wonder is this:

Carra is a Sky pundit and should be impartial but this really proves that these Liverpool pundits are NOT AT ALL impartial!

Sacking would be really harsh. Jonny Evans spat at a Newcastle player and was suspended for 5 or 6 games wasn't he? A similar punishment is acceptable i.e. suspension for a month. Also, he's actually a good pundit so I'd rather he stayed on that god awful Sky Sports team. As @noodlehair states, if only there was a way Souness could take the blame for this?

I'm really not a supporter for sacking someone for little misdemeanor in their private life, but networks have sacked employees for WAY less....

The thing is that Souness did some absolutely criminal tackles during his career which are miles and miles worse than spitting at someone. You’d have to pay me many times more to be on the end of one of those Souness levellers than Carragher’s spit.

Wait a minute..

He could say it was John Bishop and hope for the best.

Nah. Disgusting behaviour . Hevwas goaded he says but still wind up your window and ignore. Soft twat.

It's Carragher, sack him.... he's not a great pundit, he just looks great compared to the other shite around him.

Anyone starting a Yougob.... sorry Yougov petition?

Now if it had been Cantona who spat on my daughter, I'd tell her not to touch it, scrape the skin off her face and try and extract DNA to make mini-Cantonas.

This also raises the question of why can't people just leave celebrities and footballers alone when they are not working? It now seems a lot of people are just on the make and will trap these people into making a fool of themselves so they can profit. There are some despicable scumbags out there. As @ TMDaines said this dad had no concern for his daughter welfare through his own actions and has no scruples over humiliating the girl even further.

the difference is you are talking about incidents with Evans and Souness that occured on the pitch against opposition players whereas this is a grown man winding down his window and flegging at a 14 year old girl, no matter the provocation, and it looked pretty tame to the shit I got lol, it's just the lowest of the low i'm ashamed and embarrassed for him how he can stand in front of Neville and talk about stuff this week well he just can't in my eyes you can't even make a joke or have banter about it i think it really is that bad

Yes I agree what Jamie did was terrible, but that dad put his daughter's welfare at risk by driving along goading a pundit and filming it at the same time, then surprise it appears in the tabloids. He is a scumbag, who likely thinks he is now the dogs bollocks for potentially getting Carragher the sack. Jamie should have just drove on and ignored him.

True. I already said that Carra should get a suspension/heavy fine at least. As for the driver, the problem is that by ignoring what he did you also say that chasing and filming a famous person with a child in your car on the motorway is acceptable behaviour.

Both acted like genuine twats obviously.

But then you're left with only the shite, aren't you?

Don't particularly want to watch a pundit on TV who spits on kids or anyone for that matter. Dickhead deserves no sympathy and I won't be sorry to see him feck off from our screens.

You can see from the video that the goading was only for a short period, this thing about it going on for 3-4 minutes is bullshit from Carra.

He should be sacked. Plenty of other pundits out there, he is not irreplaceable.

We should probably re-title the thread 'Man uses mobile phone whilst driving car'. I walk and cycle around town all day and see this maybe a few hindered times, but thankfully Jamie Carragher has raised this issue and The Caf are rallying around him and his quest for road safety. If he starts spitting at children in cars who are speeding, that would be much appreciated too.

Urrrrrrrgh the Internet.

Footballers get away with pretty much anything because they are multi-million pound assets and are hard to replace. Footballers have not been sacked
for taking drugs, assault, lying, racism, cheating, biting and a whole host of behaviours that you and I would be sacked for.

Carragher is not a footballer anymore, and is not going to cost £30m to replace, so normal workplace rules will apply. He will be lucky to still have a job at the end of this.

He has let himself down massively.
I'm really not a supporter for sacking someone for little misdemeanor in their private life, but networks have sacked employees for WAY less....

Sky can't be seen to condone that sort of behaviour .
My bet is you wont be seeing him for a while on Sky.
It's very embarrassing for him .goaded he may have been there is just no excuse for spitting at anyone.
It's a football result at the end of the day.

He's let himself down massively

ha ha that is pretty funny

Or replace him..... with Eric? (ã la his shirt off, big stick, sat in a chair vids. Brilliant).
A pundit job at Sky is too much of a cliche for Eric, I would think, even if it's shirtless. Plus they can't have him and Gary together. Lampard could work. Can't think of anyone else.

well if he's sacked then you need another funny chirpy scouser to replace him in the double act with Neville, Joey Barton would get my vote..... runs away giggling.....

Both Carragher and the dad should be charged. You can’t be doing either of those

Hopefully the dad gets a few points on his license too - what a ducking idiot

Whatever happens with his job, as I imagine he is set for life financially, the bigger punishment will be being remembered for this alongside anything on the pitch. Of course, he’ll be so fecking embarrassed and ashamed. It’s going to be TV gold next time there is a spitting incident at the football while Carragher is in the studio. You can picture him now shifting uncomfortably whilst it is being discussed, trying to crack a joke to own this incident, with his colleagues looking on thinking “you twat”.

As a mum I would be furious if it was my daughter and he had put her in that situation and then thought it was OK to humiliate her further to score points with his mates.

Only just seen this, hard to see how Sky can keep employing him now

isn't spit just the by-product of a scouser talking in general?
It's all a big misunderstanding. Where Jaime comes from spitting is a mere greeting, a form of endearment, if you will.

T-shirts are currently in production.

I just heard this will be the third time Jamie will be done for road rage.
There's the answer to the "Why didn't he ignore him?" question.

I’d be surprised if he isn’t sacked for this. In the same week that sky are proudly celebrating “women’s week” we have carragher spitting in the face of a 14 year old girl. Its a PR disaster. And the easy route out for them will be to sack him. Im still amazed by his reaction though, he must get this all the time and I’m sure he’s had a lot worse from other plebs. Not that he should get it of course but he’s made a rod for his own back here. A stupid moment of madness.

As I said earlier he never said this individual guy was doing it for 3-4 minutes just it had happened earlier.

It's possible it was other people doing it or maybe the guy filmed it and selected to only show that bit? Neither are beyond the realms of possibility.

The thing is, what's more unprofessional in terms of your job as a sports pundit? acting a bit like a scumbag outside of work and having to apologise, or not actually being able to do your job properly because you're too biased towards your own team?

Sky's coverage on Saturday was embarrassing (amusing because we were winning, but embarrassing). You had Souness talking absolute nonsense before the game, the presenter being so biased at half time that their guest pundit actually had to call her out on "clutching at straws", then Souness having a mini meltdown after the game.

Carragher was the only one actually doing his job.

Lampard could work, early days but he hasnt said anything completely stupid yet.

On Carragher, some people seem to be justifying one event by the other. Dad's an idiot and I hope a judge fines him "what the Mirror paid you plus £1". What Carragher did is scummy - apart from potentially being 'assault' (so my Sol mate tells me), I do that and my company sacks me instantly. He'll probably get some gardening leave and tiptoe back in in a few weeks.

Obviously the dad is a complete tool, but I just cannot wrap my head around Carragher's actions. It would have been so simple to just keep the window shut, ignore the taunts and drive off. Especially considering the amount of abuse he must have received during games and the restraint needed not to react in those situations.

Anyway, I hope he doesn't lose his job over this. Everyone makes mistakes and it was clear that the dad was after a reaction like this.

I agree but add to this any over reaction by a player. 'Well it was a tame tackle and there was no need for him to react in that way'.... Like you did when you gobbed at that young girl?

I hate spitting with a passion, but losing his job does seem harsh. Maybe he should be humiliated in some way like the girl was, made to wear a United shirt for the rest of the season if he wants to keep his job. Seems fair.
